Little Black nodded, "I was investigating the case until late last night and didn't go back."
The deputy team leader shook his head, "This doesn't seem like your style... Did you and your girlfriend break up?"
"Boring old man." Little Black shook his head and went to wash up.
"Sigh..." As he exited, he couldn't help but sigh, muttering, "Why does everyone have to get married? Isn't dating just fine?
Why?"
Little Black looked distressed as he washed his face with cold water to revive his spirits sowhat.
When he returned to the office, he found a few more people there, including an annoying white man in a suit, "Wow... if it isn't lawyer Port, what brings you here?"
Port had previously served as the lawyer for the murderer Boris in the investigation of the actress's death.
"Detective Marcus, it's good to see you, I am now the lawyer for August Toca."
"Why is it you again?"
Port retorted, "Why is it you working on this case?"
"This is the Robbery and Murder Departnt, investigating homicides is our responsibility. Is there a problem?"
"No, I am a professional criminal lawyer who happens to have a bit of fa in this field, people trust . So, we will be seeing each other often."
Port waved his hand and smiled, "I'm off to et with my client, see you later."
Watching him leave the office, Little Black shook his head, "That guy is so fake, actually smiling at ."
The deputy team leader said gravely, "I think his smile is genuine, he really did want to see you."
Little Black curled his lip, "What do you an? Does he have so peculiar hobby?"
The deputy team leader explained, "He's a lawyer, if he cos here it ans he's got a big case, and big money is calling to him, how could he not be happy?
I've seen many such lawyers, they really are glad to see .
More real than any of my ex-wives."
Little Black asked, "How are things with your ex-wives?"
The deputy team leader gave a strange look, "Do you know why I refuse to retire despite my age?"
"To avoid them?"
"No, we hardly see each other anymore, you'll understand when you get divorced.
Of course, I hope you never have to."
Little Black smirked, "Cryptic old man."
Luke handed Little Black a hamburger, "Here's yours."
"Thanks." Little Black took a sip of coffee and started devouring the hamburger.
"You aren't planning to live in the lounge forever, are you?"
Little Black countered, "Are you offering to take in?"
"Don't even think about it." Luke was very straightforward in his rejection.
"Creak..."
The office door swung open, and Susan walked in from outside.
"Everyone, we've got a new case."
The deputy team leader reminded, "We haven't wrapped up the vampire case yet, why are we being assigned a new one?"
"This case is also related to vampires." Susan answered and briefly introduced, "The victim's na is Angela Char, a female rock singer found dead in the dressing room this morning.
Two puncture wounds were found on the left side of her neck.
The person who reported the case is her manager.
That's all we know for now, get ready, we're going to the scene."
Little Black finished his hamburger in six bites and washed it down with a sip of coffee, "Haven't we already caught the suspect August Toca? Why is there a new victim?"
Susan nodded, "That's what we need to investigate."
The deputy team leader said, "What about August's case? His lawyer is already here."
Susan replied, "Deputy and Raymond will stay behind to continue interrogating August.
The rest of you, co with to the scene."
...
Ten o'clock in the morning.
Luke and the others arrived at Camarilla Bar.
The area of this bar was larger than Dracula Bar.
The décor was more modern and not specifically a vampire-thed bar.
However, the bar still featured plenty of vampire elents, vampire posters, crosses, and even a large coffin on stage.
Compared to Dracula Bar, it looked more temporary, less refined; it was more rough, gory, blood-starred, and had a more direct, stronger impact.
If Dracula Bar was about pure vampires, then this place felt like a mix of vampires and zombies.
Little Black pointed at a poster of a female vampire, "Hey, I've seen this woman...
Now I rember.
No wonder the victim Angela Char's na sounded familiar to , I used to listen to her rock songs."
Luke asked, "How did they feel?"
"I didn't listen much, but her music was very unique, not pure rock, infused with lots of vampire elents, even more gory, terrifying, and brutal.
It's probably niche music.
I don't really like it, but so of my friends do, they even call her 'Vampire Queen'."
"OK, let's go take a look at this Vampire Queen." They passed through the bar's main hall and into the backstage dressing room.
The police had already cordoned off the area, the dressing room was not large, about twenty to thirty square ters, with a huge mirror, several swivel chairs, a cabinet against the wall, a coffee table, and a row of sofas.
A woman lay on the floor between the mirror and the coffee table.
She was a white female with red hair, pale cheeks, blood-red lips, dark eyeshadow, and two puncture wounds and bite marks on her white neck, with a pool of blood on the ground.
The woman wore a black one-piece short dress and black stockings, very sexy.
