Luke took the opportunity to ask, "Then describe the case to , and let see if it fits the scenario of manslaughter."
Theodore confird, "Hypothetical statent?"
Luke smiled, "It seems you have learned quite a bit from the lawyers."
Theodore said, "Never look down on Black people, never."
Luke turned to Little Black and murmured, "I really want to hit him."
Little Black shrugged; he also disliked how many Black people always acted like they were being targeted.
The more you place yourself as a minority, the more you will be despised.
"You may give your hypothetical statent now."
Theodore took a deep breath, and after a few seconds of silence, he began, "That day, May 10th in the afternoon around 3 o'clock, I went to Maraboya High School. I was there to find Josie, to tell him I had a girlfriend now, soone even better than her."
Afterwards, I heard gunshots and hid in the music building.
I never expected to be so unlucky, the shooter followed in and started firing wildly.
I was terrified.
I knew I couldn't just sit there and wait to die, so I started firing back.
But I had just gotten that gun, I had never practiced shooting before, the recoil was really strong, I couldn't control the aim, and I ended up hitting a student.
A white boy who played football. I like football, I had seen him on the field, a very fast white kid.
I ssed things up, that's all there is to it, I only accidentally hard an innocent during my response, nothing more."
"If you can offer a manslaughter plea deal, I'm willing to plead guilty."
"Good," Luke nodded. It was a good thing the suspect wanted to confess, and as long as they could form a complete chain of evidence, he didn't mind closing the case.
He had just discovered the suspicion against Holip when Theodore confessed, so he still felt a bit uneasy.
Luke prepared to verify everything clearly, to avoid future complications involving himself.
"State the exact ti you arrived at Maraboya High School, the more specific the better."
Theodore thought for a mont, then shook his head, "I only rember it was around 3 o'clock, I can't recall a more precise ti."
"Your stolen Rolex doesn't even keep ti accurately?"
Theodore glared at Luke, "I can't even read a watch, are you satisfied now?"
"Ask again for the precise ti?"
"I don't know."
"Was anyone there to see you enter the school?"
"Of course, I'm not invisible, but I'm not a student at Maraboya High School, they might not recognize ."
"So, there are no eyewitnesses then?"
"If you want eyewitnesses, you should go find them. Shouldn't that be the police's responsibility?"
"Did Triss Lier go to Maraboya High School?"
"No, this matter has nothing to do with her."
"How can it have nothing to do with her? Weren't you going to tell Josie about your new girlfriend? Why not bring Triss directly, wouldn't that have been more effective?"
Theodore thought for a mont, "I never actually dated Josie. I was bragging in front of Triss. I was worried about my lies being exposed, so I chose to go alone."
"Did you bring that Colt Python revolver with you at that ti?"
"Yes."
"Describe the route you took once you entered the school, and what happened after the gunfire?"
"I don't rember clearly."
"Then think hard."
"I have already agreed to confess, why keep making it difficult for ?"
"Nobody is making it difficult for you, reaching a plea agreent is premised on the clarity of the case facts. If your account isn't clear, the prosecutor won't agree to a manslaughter plea. Understand?"
Theodore pinched his forehead and sighed, "I rember after entering the school, I went straight to the music building. I knew Josie would be there practicing dance, so I went there early to wait for her.
But she didn't show up, instead, the shooter did."
"Who was present when you fired the shots?"
"It was very chaotic at the ti, I'm not sure if there were other people there. Later, I accidentally injured that white kid, and I got scared and ran."
"Do you often watch football gas at Maraboya High School?"
"Not often, just occasionally."
"Do you know Holip?"
Theodore appeared sowhat anxious, his eyes flickering, occasionally glancing around, "He seems to be the quarterback at Maraboya High School, I have an impression, very impressive."
"What's your relationship with him?"
"We don't have any relationship, I just know of him."
"I thought you guys were close?"
"I don't know why you got that impression, but you are mistaken."
"Last ti at your house, we found a photo of you wearing the number 9 football jersey on your table, which should be Holip's jersey. I heard he only gives his jerseys to close people. How did you get it?"
Theodore's forehead beads with sweat, "I rember once Maraboya High School won a ga, Holip was so happy he took off his jersey and threw it into the stands, I was lucky and caught it.
Maybe it will sell for a good price when he becos a football star."
"Where is that revolver you used?"
"I threw it into the sea."
"Nice choice for disposing of the weapon, huh?"
"Thanks for the complint. Can we reach a plea agreent now?"
Luke also wanted to close the case, but the current problem was the absence of the weapon, no witnesses, and a unclear description of the cri scene. This case still had many doubts.
"You said you were attacked by the gunman in the music classroom?"
