"It's you."

"Mr. Klein, I'm really sorry, I never thought things would turn out like this," Marico Marquis pleaded. "Please don't hurt us, give us a chance to make ands."

"My Williams is dead, how do you plan to make ands? What can you offer as compensation?

You all deserve to die, you should all die!"

Grace Dore sobbed quietly, "I was severely injured in a car accident, I've already been punished, please don't hurt us anymore.

Mr. Klein, I beg you."

"Knock, knock..."

Just then, there was a knock on the door outside.

The three were startled.

Heller Klein pointed a gun at Grace Dore, "You're a smart person, you should know what to do?"

Grace Dore took a deep breath, "Who's out there?"

"I'm Dr. Vincent Sis, coming to do rounds, I'm coming in." As the words fell, the door slowly opened, and an old man wearing a white coat walked into the ward.

Heller Klein kept his hands behind his back, the gun still aid at Grace Dore, while keeping a wary eye on the incoming doctor, his first impression was that the doctor was quite old.

Because of the doctor's age, he breathed a little easier.

Dr. Sis looked at the three and asked, "Ms. Grace Dore, how are you feeling today?"

Grace Dore looked at Dr. Sis, then at Heller Klein beside her, her expression changing again and again.

Heller Klein shifted the handgun, saying to Grace Dore, "Grace, the doctor is speaking to you."

Grace Dore licked her lips and replied perfunctorily, "Not bad."

Dr. Sis looked at the food box on the floor, "I just heard so noise from the ward, were you arguing?"

Heller Klein laughed and said, "Yes, this kid is clumsy and can't even hold a food box steady.

I gave him a good scolding."

Dr. Sis said, "The patient needs to rest now; I suggest it would be better for the two of you to speak outside."

Heller Klein said, "You're right, we'll say a few more words to Grace and then leave."

"Do you need to call a nurse to help clean up?"

Heller Klein shrugged, "That clumsy kid will clean up, it's his job to do it."

"Okay." Dr. Sis nodded, turned, and made to leave.

Just as Dr. Sis opened the ward door, Marico Marquis suddenly said, "Doctor, I want to talk to you about Grace's condition."

Heller Klein coldly said, "Marico Marquis, I think now is not a good ti."

Marico Marquis swallowed, sweat beading on his forehead, knowing this move was risky, but aware that only by creating chaos would he have a chance to survive.

If the ward only had the three of them left, he would only have one path: death.

Marico Marquis took a deep breath, stiffly moving his legs towards the door.

"I told you to stop." Heller Klein's voice was full of threats.

Marico Marquis not only did not stop, but quickened his pace. His hands were cuffed, unable to open the door himself; the door Dr. Sis had opened was his only exit to safety.

"Damn bastard!" Heller Klein cursed, raising his right hand and pressing the trigger aid at Marico Marquis.

"Bang!" A bullet hit Marico Marquis's shoulder.

"Ah!"

Marico Marquis scread in agony, falling forward to the left.

Heller Klein aid at Marico Marquis, about to shoot again.

"Bang!"

A gunshot sounded from the opposite side, and the bullet hit Heller Klein's right arm.

Heller Klein scread in pain, dropping the gun to the floor.

Dr. Sis stood with a gun in his hand, shouting, "LAPD, don't move!"

...

zke Bar.

The squad sat together, laughing loudly.

Jackson took a sip of whiskey and said, "Deputy Chief, tell us about your solo capture of the suspect, I'm really curious."

"Not much to say, in my decades-long career this is nothing special." The Deputy Chief shrugged.

The one called Xiao Hei asked, confused, "When you entered the ward, didn't the suspect Heller Klein suspect your identity?"

The Deputy Chief smiled, "Honestly, I think he might have.

He probably doesn't see older doctors like often, but he never expected I would be a cop.

Age has given so trouble, but it's also my best disguise."

Luke raised his glass, proposing, "Let's toast to the Deputy Chief."

In such an extre situation, even Luke wouldn't dare say he could do better than the Deputy.

"To the Deputy Chief." The crowd also raised their glasses.

The Deputy Chief pressed his hands downward, "Wait, you're toasting too early, I still have sothing important to announce."

Xiao Hei teased, "What's the matter? Are you planning to retire?"

"No, I plan to work until I die.

Do you have a problem with that?" The Deputy Chief huffed and waved his hand, "What I want to say is, I'm getting engaged."

"What?"

"Are you kidding?"

"Is today April Fool's Day?"

"Deputy Chief, are you drunk?"

The Deputy Chief looked at everyone, solemnly saying, "I'm very sober and very serious."

Jenny asked, "Is it the lady who spent Christmas with you on vacation?"

The Deputy Chief laughed, "That's right, I'm glad soone rembered."

Xiao Hei frowned, thinking for a mont, "I rember, you said you would marry that lady.

I thought you were joking."

"I never joke about such things.
