Christopher Community No. 203.
A black car was parked by the roadside. David sat in the driver's seat and didn't get out imdiately. Instead, he said to Luke, "Jones isn't a bad person; he shouldn't be treated like this."
Luke said, "Many detectives can't take proper care of their families due to work reasons, this is not an isolated case."
David shrugged, "Maybe, that's why I don't want to get married again."
Luke laughed, "Don't be so negative. I heard the deputy team has a new significant other."
"Are you serious?"
"Of course, I wouldn't dare joke about the deputy team."
David shook his head and chuckled, "I don't want to attend his wedding again.
He's not a good role model."
Luke said, "Everything has multiple aspects. Why don't we learn from his optimistic side?"
"Optimistic, you're right. Since it's happened, we'll just solve it." David finished speaking and got out of the police car.
Luke picked the lock and entered Jones's new place.
The room had simple furniture, with an open suitcase in the corner. There weren't many items, and it seed more like a dormitory or a temporary sleeping place than a ho.
David shook his head, "This poor guy has his life in a ss.
There's nothing here apart from clothes, a bed, toiletries, and alcohol, no other personal belongings."
Luke walked around the place but didn't find any valuable clues. From his experience, it didn't seem like the primary cri scene.
However, the necessary checks still needed to be done, and the tech team also arrived at Jones's house for a routine investigation.
Luke walked out of the house, scanning the surroundings. He saw a white man in his sixties across the street, peeping from the east neighbor's house.
"Good afternoon, sir."
The elderly white man asked Luke, "I heard a policeman moved in a few days ago, and now so many cops are here. Are you planning to throw a party?"
"No, the previous officer... was murdered.
We're here to investigate."
"My God, just moved in and... how unfortunate, I hadn't even had a drink with him yet."
"Yes, Jones was a good officer, and we all miss him."
"Was his na Jones?"
"Yes."
"How did he die?"
"The case is still under investigation..." Luke responded and then asked, "Sir, may I have your na?"
"Rade Wadez."
"Mr. Wadez, did you hear or see anything unusual last night?"
"Last night?"
"Yes."
Rade Wadez thought for a mont, "Yes, now that you ntion it, I rember. Around nine o'clock last night, I heard a commotion.
When I ca out, I saw Jones arguing with a white man at his door. Jones looked really angry and then drove that man away."
"Mr. Wadez, the clue you provided is very important. Could you describe the man's appearance in detail?"
"Sorry, it was a bit dark and distant at the ti, so I couldn't see clearly.
However, he left on a black motorcycle, seed to be wearing a blue helt."
"Do you rember the license plate number?"
"I couldn't see clearly."
"Do you know what brand the motorcycle was?"
"Didn't catch that, but the bike was cool. If I saw it again, I should recognize it."
"What ti did the man on the motorcycle leave? Which direction did he go?"
"A little after nine, went east of the community."
"Thanks again." With this lead, Luke imdiately sent soone to investigate the community's surveillance.
Soon, the police found the suspect on the motorcycle in the surveillance footage and asked Rade Wadez to identify him.
After getting confirmation from Rade Wadez, the police used technology to enhance the surveillance video, found the motorcycle's clear license plate number, and traced back to the owner's information through the plate number.
Owner: Larry McCain

Upon seeing this information, David frowned slightly and snorted, "Carlos Mont, I know this gang. It's a newly established small gang with only about a few dozen mbers, operating in the Mattie District."
Luke pressed further, "Why do you rember such a small gang so clearly?"
"A while ago, Jones had soone investigate this gang."
Luke said, "Why did Jones investigate this gang?"
"He didn't say why... Now it seems, his death is likely related to this gang." David's face showed a hint of ruthlessness, "If Jones's death is really related to this gang, then this gang doesn't need to exist."
Although David's words were a bit bold, a small gang of a few dozen is really not worth much. As long as the Los Angeles police departnt has the determination and motivation, it can be wiped out easily.
Luke said, "Now that we've found this guy, we might as well talk to him. If it's confird that this gang is related to Jones's death, we'll then gather police forces."
"You're right, since this guy is a gang mber, let's hand it over to our anti-gang and anti-drug unit.
Those guys have been itching for action, it's ti to let them blow off so steam."
...
9 PM.
232 Leveco Community.
A black SUV parked by the roadside, and Blackie leaned out from the passenger seat, seeing David with his team getting out of the car, he turned his head and asked, "Captain, why hand over the arrest operation to the Anti-Gang and Drug Unit?"
"The suspect is a gang mber. It's more suitable to let them handle it." Luke also intended to give David an opportunity to earn rit.
Blackie shook his head, "I don't think this group will do a better job than us."
Jackson also looked out the window, "David's n have started moving. Wait, they're all wearing bulletproof vests and holding shotguns, shouldn't they question first?"
Blackie laughed, "Don't be silly, how could these brutes know how to question?"
As they talked, the Anti-Gang and Drug Unit was already in the yard, with fully ard detectives at the front, back doors, and in the yard.
"Bang!" David kicked the door open, "LAPD!"
"Don't move!"
"Damn bastard, put your hands up and get on your knees!"
"Hands over your head!"
Shouts rang out.
Luke also got out of the car with his team, guarding around the yard.
At this ti, a white young man was kneeling in the living room of the house, his hands over his head, showing a nervous expression on his face.
David walked up to him and asked, "What's your na?"
"Larry McCain."
"How many people are in the house?"
"It's just ?"
"Do you know why we're looking for you?"
"I don't know." Larry McCain shook his head, regaining so composure, "Why did you break into my house, do you have a search warrant?"
"Fuck! You killed a cop, and you're talking to about a search warrant?
Believe it or not, I'll shoot you right now." David took the gun, pressing the gun handle against Larry McCain, "Take it."
"No, please don't kill ." Larry McCain backed up in fear.
David patted his cheeks, "OK, let's have a good talk. Why did you kill Jones?"
"I didn't kill Jones, you got it wrong."
"If it wasn't you.
Then tell , who killed Jones?"
"I don't know, how can I tell you."
"As far as I know, you were the last person to see Jones, and you two had a conflict.
A while back, he was investigating your gang, so you held a grudge and killed him."
"No, I didn't, and I wouldn't kill him." Larry McCain took a deep breath and said, "I did see Jones last night, but I didn't kill him.
I wanted to have a good relationship with him."
"Are you ssing with ?"
"I wouldn't dare, everything I say is true."
David stared at him intently, "Kid, if you dare to lie, dare to slander Jones, you're dead."
"I won't, I went to him for sothing unrelated to the gang.
Actually... I'm dating his daughter."
"Mia Oliver?"
"Yes, I'm her boyfriend."
"Bullshit, there's no way Jones would let his daughter date a thug."
"You're right, he always opposed us being together, so I took the initiative to find him, hoping to ease the relationship.
But unexpectedly, things got worse, and he even kicked out of the house."
"How did you know Jones lived here?"
"Mia told ."
"How did you plan to ease the relationship with him?"
"I know so friends who run pawnshops.
A few days ago, soone inquired about a watch stolen from a big shot and asked if I could help find out more.
I saw a photo of the watch and felt it looked familiar.
Because of Mia, I had t Jones before, although the process wasn't pleasant, I had seen him wearing that limited edition watch, it's not common.
So, I guessed maybe he lost it.
I found out where the watch was, so I went to him.
My original intention was to have a good relationship with him, but when I brought it up, he got very upset, angry, and kicked out.
I was also angry, but considering he's Mia's father...
I held back, got on my motorcycle, and left his house.
I didn't have a conflict with him, nor did I kill him.
I swear to God!"
Luke had been watching him, seeing no signs of lying, he asked, "Are you sure Jones lost his watch?"
"I wasn't sure at first, but when I ntioned it, he seed very agitated, like it struck a nerve.
So I was sure, it should be his."
David ca over, whispering, "Jones did have a limited edition Rolex, a gift from his wife, no, ex-wife.
He always treasured it.
However, I can't figure out who the hell would dare to steal his watch?"
Luke nodded, "Where's the watch?"
"Larsen Pawnshop."
