Detective Bureau.

In the morning, Luke was organizing the testimonies of the cast from "The Vanished Lover."

Matthew walked into the office carrying three parcels, "Got a delivery from FedEx, I've placed them on the front desk."

The front desk was unoccupied, generally used for miscellaneous items and shared objects.

"Hey, my delivery finally arrived." Little Black was the first to run over, picked through them, and then threw one parcel to Luke and another to Jenny.

"Thanks." Luke caught the parcel and tore it open.

David looked at the trio and joked, "Only won shop online, tough guys don't."

Luke laughed, "You're right, idiots don't either."

"Haha…" Marcus and Jenny laughed loudly.

The deputy chief rested his right hand on his face, his elbow on the desk, "Why provoke him? The kid has never been outdone in a verbal spar."

"Did I say sothing wrong?" David shrugged.

"He was right too."

"Haha…" Everyone laughed again.

Seeing Luke tearing open the outer packaging, Little Black showed a curious look, peering in, "Hey, you actually bought a book, 'The Vanished Lover'; is this book related to the movie the deceased was filming?"

"The movie was adapted from this novel, and the author of the novel is also the screenplay writer. Since the murderer might have killed according to the movie plot, I wanted to see if I could find any clues in the novel," Luke said as he started flipping through the book.

The deputy chief said, "Luke's remark reminded that since the news of Lucas's fake death was exposed, most people related to the 'The Vanished Lover' crew have been negatively affected, the only one who might have benefited from this is the author.

What's his na... I seem to rember it, but I can't recall it right now."

Luke reminded, "Romit Bull."

The deputy chief said, "That's right, we should talk to him, he might have so valuable clues to offer."

Susan entered the office, "What are you guys talking about?"

Luke waved the book in his hand, "We're discussing the author of this novel."

"Once you're done, lend it to ," Susan said, then changed the subject, "The forensic departnt has new findings.

The forensic doctor extracted traces of blood from the deceased's teeth, specifically, blood that does not belong to him.

Although it didn't match any existing records in the database, it's confird to be a woman's blood."

The deputy chief nodded, pleased with the news, "Although our previous conjecture was that the victim might have left bite marks on the murderer, those marks on the murderer's body could have healed over ti, limiting the evidence's usefulness.

However, DNA is different; just catch the suspect and you can convict them."

Little Black laughed, "The DNA is from a woman.

I guess Abu Gela this scumbag has reverted to his old ways, cheating on so woman emotionally for money and benefits, resulting in her anger and his murder."

David joked, "Why does it sound like soone is speaking from personal experience?"

"Haha…" Everyone burst into laughter again.

...

The next day.

York Community.

A Lexus parked in front of a two-story villa with a blue roof.

A Caucasian man hurriedly got out of the car, ran to the door, and knocked forcefully, "Bang, bang..."

No response.

"Bang, bang..." The Caucasian man shouted, "Courtney, are you ho?"

"If you don't open the door, I'm coming in!"

As the man finished speaking, he entered the code on the lock, opened the door, and walked in.

"Courtney, are you alright?"

The man looked around the living room but didn't see anyone.

He continued inside, pushed open the bedroom door, and was stunned,

"Courtney! No…"

...

Five minutes later, patrol officers arrived at the scene.

Half an hour later, Luke and others reached the York Community.

Little Black got out of the car, scanning the surroundings, "It indeed is a rich area, the front yard of the house is bigger than my entire house."

David shook his head, "You really focus on the strangest things, now's not the ti for that."

Little Black nodded, "You're right, a person's dead, no use for a big house then."

David was silent…

Luke knew what David ant.

Courtney Bass was the female lead of the movie "The Vanished Lover."

With two people from the sa crew dead, Courtney Bass's death was likely connected to the substitute main actor Abu Gela's death; therefore, their team would still handle this case.

Everyone entered the scene one after another.

It must be said, the house was indeed beautifully decorated, stylish and minimalist, with so cleverly designed areas clearly done by a professional.

Nothing unusual was found in the living room.

Luke walked into the bedroom, saw a woman in pajamas hanging from a rope, her eyes wide open, tongue sticking out, her complexion pale, and her curvaceous figure faintly visible beneath the pajamas.

Little Black sighed softly, assessing her up and down, "What a sha, she was a good woman."

David frowned, "How can you tell? Just because she's wearing a sheer nightgown?"

Little Black said calmly, "I wouldn't expect you to understand, we don't speak the sa language."

David said, "Thankfully."

Luke also kept observing the body, feeling very strange about this corpse; he had seen many death scenes, but this one was particularly different.

A rope was tied to the chandelier, Courtney Bass's neck hanging from it, appearing as though she had hanged herself, but her feet were dangling and there was no stool underneath.

How did she get up there?

Normally, if it were a hanging, you would expect to step on a stool, put the rope around your neck, then kick the stool away to suffocate due to the tightness around your neck.
