Outside the Wal-Mart supermarket.

A sassy black woman was looking around at the entrance.

Luke hurried over, slightly out of breath, "sorry, babe, I'm late."

Jenny asked, "Did you catch the killer who killed Lucas?"

"Not yet, but we've identified him, and we'll catch that guy soon."

Jenny looked intrigued, "Who is the killer?"

"Babe, I want to tell you, but I can't," Luke said as he wrapped his arms around his girlfriend and they entered the supermarket.

Jenny cajoled, "Co on, all my colleagues are talking about it, can't you give a bit of an edge?"

"I signed a confidentiality agreent; you know, I can't say too much about the case."

"You're sleeping on the couch tonight."

"I want to sleep on the bed."

"OK, then I'll sleep on the couch."

Luke sighed, "Do you really want to know that badly?"

"It's not that I'm dying to know, but the more you refuse to tell , the more I want to know."

Luke nodded, "I'll tell you, but not here...you know, too many ears around."

"So where do you think is appropriate?"

"Tonight, in your bed at ho, I'll tell you."

Jenny laughed, "You really are a jerk."

"But I'm your jerk," Luke said as he wrapped his arm around Jenny's waist, turning on his charm.

He was very experienced in handling won; won are emotional, prone to inexplicable tantrums, and even occasionally petty.

Did Jenny really want to know who the murderer was? Maybe she was a bit curious, but it probably wasn't too strong.

The reason she had to know was that Luke's refusal made her feel upset.

Essentially, she just wanted reassurance; as long as you could charm her, she would forget about it soon.

In bed, the last thing to co up would be another man.

The couple continued to flirt as they walked along.

A white woman pushing a cart passed them from the opposite direction, wearing sunglasses and a mask making her unrecognizable, but as a 'professional' detective, Luke had better facial recognition than most.

He had seen this woman before—Lucas's wife, Inosa Soster.

Inosa Soster shopping at the supermarket was no problem, but she was now in the n's sleepwear section.

Now that was a big problem.

Luke whispered, "Babe, can I entrust you with a task?"

"What task? It sounds secretive." Jenny's ears tingled a bit.

"Aren't you curious about Lucas's case? Want to get involved?"

"Can I?"

Luke gestured for her to be quiet, "Softly, do you see that woman? That's Lucas's wife."

"Really? Poor woman."

"She's not that pitiful, I need you to watch her, see what she buys."

"Why? Her husband was murdered; how can you do this at her ti of grief?"

"Her husband indeed was killed, but whether she's grieving is another question, I just saw her buying n's pajamas."

"Oh my gosh, so soon?"

"Yeah, she definitely has a big problem, she's seen before, can you keep an eye on her for ?"

"Of course, but she's wearing a mask and sunglasses, and you still recognized her?"

Luke lowered his voice, "Babe, trust ."

"Wow, your voice is so cool, I'm crazy about you," Jenny kissed Luke on the face.

"Be careful, babe, play it smart, call if anything happens, I'm always here, OK?"

"Don't underestimate ." Jenny pushed the cart and followed.

Inosa Soster went shopping, and she would shop nearby too.

To keep Inosa Soster from noticing her, she would pass her by first, heading to different sections, while also discreetly checking the contents of Inosa Soster's cart.

Just as Luke guessed, the cart contained a lot of n's items, what a bad woman.

Inosa Soster checked out, and Jenny checked out at another register.

The two left the supermarket one after the other, until Inosa Soster climbed into a black BMW.

At that mont, Luke approached, "Babe, what did you see?"

"Inosa Soster is up ahead in that BMW, in line to pay."

"You're amazing, you have a real talent for tailing; it'd be a waste not to be a cop."

Jenny pulled out her smartphone, "I got the license plate number down."

"Yeah, yeah, that's important, that woman definitely has a problem, I'm about to make a breakthrough," Luke passionately kissed Jenny.

Jenny felt encouraged, eager to try more, "Do you want to continue tailing?"

"Nonono, you go ho now, leave the rest to ."

"What about you?"

"Dad's going to catch a bad guy now, I'll bring you ho so grilled sausages."

Jenny smiled broadly, "What's on your mind?"

"You're all I think about."

"OK, I really have to go now, can't delay any longer." Seeing the BMW about to leave the parking lot, Luke gave Jenny a kiss and ran to the roadside to hail a cab.

...

The phone rang, "Ding-ding-ding…"

David's cell phone rang, "Hello."

"I just saw Inosa Soster at Wal-Mart. She bought so n's items and also included condoms. Afterward, she left in a black BMW, license plate 3CRQ384.

I suspect these items are probably for the assistant director, Clapbo Hino."

David pondered for a mont, "Where are you now?"

"I'm in a taxi, tracking her."

"Good, I'll report to Captain Susan, briefing her on the situation, and you keep on her tail. Also, I'll tell her we're both working overti tonight—you understand."

Luke agreed, "Of course, I've always said, we're the best partners."

"Be careful, I'm on my way now."

Afterward, David called Susan to report the situation.

...

In the suburbs of Los Angeles, inside a mansion.

Inosa Soster opened the door; the house was sowhat dark, and she was about to turn on the light.

A shadow darted from the side and hugged her from behind, "You're ho late."

"I bought a lot of stuff and am totally exhausted."

"I should have gone with you," the man behind her said.

"No, the police would have noticed, and then we'd be done for," Inosa Soster muttered, looking down as the man slid his hand into her clothes. "What are you doing?"

"I'm hungry."

"I'll go make you so food."

"I could eat you up."

After saying that, the man picked up Inosa Soster and carried her into the bedroom.

Soon, the sounds of playing poker filled the room.

Ten minutes later.

The two lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling.

"Ah," Inosa Soster sighed.

"Sorry, I got a bit excited just now."

"Excited my ass, it's not like it's the first ti," Inosa Soster complained.

"You are too irresistible, I couldn't control myself. Let's play another round later, I'll behave better."

"You've already lost your chance," Inosa Soster said as she started dressing.

"Knock, knock"

Kicking noises ca from outside.

The atmosphere in the room instantly tensed. Inosa Soster straightened her clothes and took a deep breath, "You hide, I'll answer the door."

The man instructed, "I know, relax, don't be nervous."

"Don't worry, I'm an actor." Inosa Soster finished speaking, walked to the door, and opened the video intercom. A police officer was standing outside.

"Sir, what can I do for you?"

"We've received a complaint about a strange noise coming from your apartnt. Please open the door."

Inosa Soster felt helpless but also relieved. She put on sunglasses and a mask before opening the door, "Who called the police? It was just..."

"LAPD!"

Jenny subdued Inosa Soster while the other officers rushed into the apartnt.

Inosa Soster's face turned pale.

"Good evening, Ms. Inosa Soster," Susan approached, seeing that her expression was more fearful than angry, silently relieved.

This search was a significant risk for Susan too.

Being a captain wasn't easy; you have to assu responsibility at critical monts.

Take search warrants, for example. Convincing a judge to sign a search warrant requires either concrete evidence or making the judge believe in you.

If the search turns up nothing, the forr isn't too bad, but the latter would definitely overdraw on credibility and incurs responsibility.

Next ti, getting a judge to sign a search warrant wouldn't be so easy.

"LAPD!"

"Living room is clear."

"Bathroom is clear."

"Kitchen is clear."

Luke and Wal burst into the bedroom, assessing the situation and confirming it once was a battleground.

There weren't many places in the room to hide soone, only a large black wardrobe could fit an adult.

Luke and Wal both pointed their guns at the wardrobe.

David and others also rushed in.

Luke shouted, "Hey, I know you're in there, hands on your head, and slowly kick open the wardrobe door using your feet.

Be smart about this. There's a bunch of cops outside with their guns on you, don't make any unnecessary movents!"

"Don't shoot, I'm coming out."

David recognized the voice as very familiar.

"Creak..."

The wardrobe slowly opened, revealing a man wrapped in a bedsheet.

When everyone saw the identity of this man, they were shocked!

Wal, "How is it you? Have I seen a ghost or sothing?"

David let out a string of curses, "Fuck, you bastards are gonna pay."

Luke cursed in Chinese, "You spicy motherfucker@#¥%..."

Even the usually calm Susan couldn't help herself, "Son of a bitch."

The man in the wardrobe was Lucas.

He wasn't dead.

Who was the murdered one?

Lucas was handcuffed to the bed, looking around at the surrounding police. "Can I put on so clothes?"

"You're fine like this," Luke asked seriously, "What is your na?"

"Lucas Soster.

Sorry, I never expected things to turn out like this, didn't think about deceiving you all."

David coldly asked, "Do you think we would believe that, hmm?"

Wal with his distinctive rapping tone, "We thought you were dead. We've been running around for your case, working overti, neglecting eating, sleeping.

And you? Laying in a mansion playing poker, treating us like fools."

"No, no, no, it isn't what you think, oh my god, I don't even know how to explain."

Susan interrogated, "Who was the murdered one?"

"I'm not sure."

"Lying can be addictive, but deceiving the police isn't a good habit," David threatened to shut off the body cam.

"Please, don't do this.

I'll talk, I'll tell you.

I think it might have been Abu Gela."

"Who is he?"

"My movie stunt double."
