Wright Community.

Luke led the team to the vicinity of the suspect vehicle owner's ho.

He didn't get out of the car imdiately, but observed with binoculars. It was a gray bungalow, not very large, with all windows and garage doors shut tight.

Luke observed for a while and saw no unusual activity inside or outside the house.

He instructed the others to stay in the car while Black and Jackson got out to check the situation before deciding on the next move.

After the two got out of the car, they surveyed the surroundings and walked into Anette Stone's yard one after the other.

Black looked up and didn't find any caras.

Black first walked to the front door, listened, and heard no sound. He gestured to Jackson, with Black checking the left side of the house, and Jackson checking the right side.

Black walked from the front door to the left side of the house and peered through the glass towards the inside of the house.

The house was sowhat ssy, but no people were to be seen.

"Hey, what are you doing?" A sudden voice startled Black.

Black turned around to see a white woman standing in the adjacent yard, with her arms crossed and a wary look on her face, as if she took him for a thief.

Black was about to say sothing.

The white woman showed a look of disgust and threatened, "Hey, this isn't the place for you, leave imdiately, or I'll call the police."

Black showed his badge, "You don't need to call, I'm the police."

Jackson heard the commotion and ca over, "Detective Chief, didn't see anyone inside the house."

The white woman was sowhat embarrassed, "Sorry, I didn't know you were police."

Black put away his badge, approached the white woman, and asked, "Madam, do you know anyone who lives in this house?"

"Yes, Mr. Anette Stone, he should not be ho. Do you have any business with him?"

"We're investigating a case and would like to ask him so questions. When did you last see him?"

"March 21st."

Black did a quick ntal calculation. Today is the 25th, it's been four days, and based on his experience, many people can't rember things from two days ago, let alone four days ago, "Madam, how do you rember so clearly?"

The white woman shrugged, "That day I got my period."

Black's cheek twitched slightly, "Wow, indeed a morable day."

"That's right, though I don't know what you're doing, but Mr. Anette Stone is a good man, a journalist with a strong sense of justice."

Jackson pursued further, "Madam, which television station is he a journalist for?"

"He used to be a journalist for CBS, now he seems to be an independent journalist. Every ti we have a gathering, he shares interesting stories."

"Has there been anything unusual at his house these last two days? Like other people coming and going, or any noise?"

The white woman thought for a mont, "No.

But yesterday a girl ca looking for him, a pretty Asian girl claiming to be his friend."

Black pursued further, "Do you have contact information for that girl?"

"I don't know, just know her surna is Inoue. She hoped that if I saw Anette Stone, I could pass a ssage for him to call her back.

She was very polite, I have a good impression of her."

Black noted down the sowhat unfamiliar surna, "Madam, to your knowledge, has Anette Stone offended anyone?"

"No, his relationship with neighbors in the community is very good."

"He doesn't live with family."

"He's single."

"Alright, thank you very much for your assistance."

"Sir, can I ask what's happened?"

"The case is still under investigation, it's hard to say at this point." Black bid farewell to the white woman and returned to the car to report the situation to Luke.

After careful consideration, Luke decided to take imdiate action.

Luke guarded the front door while Black led the team into the house from the back.

"Bang!"

The back door of the house was kicked open.

Black led the team rushing into the house, "LAPD."

"Clear."

"Clear."

The house wasn't large, with only two rooms. The police quickly completed the search of the house and found no suspicious figures.

Luke entered the house for inspection, first sniffing for odors but didn't sll any blood or disinfectant.

The room was ssy, clothes were scattered on the living room sofa, and the trash bin emitted a rotting sll of household waste.

There were signs of rummaging in the living room drawer.

Luke entered the bedroom to inspect. The larger bedroom had a bed, the drawer also showed signs of rummaging, and there was a photo on the bedside table, a photo of Anette Stone himself, with the Statue of Liberty in the background.

Luke then went to the other bedroom, this bedroom didn't have a bed and seed to be used as an office with a desk, cabinet, whiteboard, and lots of docunts scattered on the ground.

Luke picked up the docunts on the ground to review, they were news reports and materials.

Luke felt the place might have been broken into.

Jackson ca over, "Captain, I found 1000 US Dollars cash in a cabinet in the other bedroom."

Although without DNA identification, the identity of the deceased cannot be confird.

But based on existing evidence, Anette Stone is very likely the owner of the dismbered body.

Considering his profession, he might have investigated sothing he shouldn't have known, leading to being silenced.

Looking at the condition of the scene, the killer very likely ca to Anette Stone's ho and took away relevant materials and evidence.
