Luke pressed on, "Are there many similar cases in Hawaii? Is there a high chance of recovering the identification card?"

Martin George replied nonchalantly, "It's hard to say; it depends on the specific situation."

"Sir, if I may ask, do you have any leads on the thief right now?"

Martin George glanced at Luke and frowned, "You five occupied three rooms: 306, 308, and 307. Room 307 is on the hotel's east side, whereas rooms 306 and 308 are on the west side.

Room 307 shows no signs of being burgled.

However, the balcony doors of rooms 306 and 308 were both open, leading to suspect that the suspect climbed into the rooms from the hotel's west side balcony."

Luke nodded in agreent, "That makes sense.

Additionally, I have a small suggestion: you might ask the hotel to contact other guests on the sa floor to check if any other rooms were burgled.

This could quickly confirm your suspicion."

Martin George smiled, "Are you teaching how to investigate a case? I've already instructed my colleagues to inquire before entering the room."

Luke also smiled, "Looks like I'll be recovering my identification card soon."

Martin George's smile faded. Pointing at Luke, he said, "Confirm what's missing and leave imdiately. Do not touch or disturb any traces in the room."

"Understood."

Martin George left the room and called over two officers. He said to a young officer, "Go find the hotel manager and have them notify guests in other rooms to see if any rooms have been burgled.

Especially make sure to ask people on this floor."

"Yes, sir."

Next, Martin George pointed to a female officer beside him, "You go to retrieve the hotel's surveillance footage... actually, I'll speak to them myself.

You stand watch here and make sure no one enters the scene."

...

Inside Room 308.

Standing on the balcony, Luke, just like Martin George guessed, felt the suspect had climbed through the balcony to enter the room, so they didn't steal from Linda's room.

The benefit of climbing over the balcony is avoiding the door, and the hotel lobby and hallway surveillance can't capture the suspect.

On the balcony floor, Luke found a shoe print, seemingly left from climbing, but it was a partial shoe print and quite faint, with about only a quarter of the toe position.

Luke tried using the identification card, but perhaps due to the shoe print being too faint and incomplete, the card didn't activate.

Doesn't work.

Luke then went to Room 306 but didn't find any obvious shoe prints on that balcony. He guessed the suspect initially went to Room 308 before burglarizing Room 306.

Luke gazed downstairs, figuring the suspect might have climbed up from below to the third floor; thus, could there be traces left below?

Luke exited the room and walked directly to the outside of the hotel on the first floor, 108 room's balcony, surrounded by a small garden. It seed watered today, as the ground was sowhat damp.

Examining outside 108 balcony carefully, Luke indeed found a set of clearer shoe prints. The small garden has automatic watering facilities, and a normal person wouldn't leave such marks there, likely these were made by the suspect.

Luke used an identification card, and a set of data appeared in his mind.

[Shoe type: Cross-pattern rubber soles

Gender: Female

Height: 164-169CM

Weight: 110-120 pounds

Age: 16-21 years

Characteristics: Bow-legged]

"It's a female thief." Luke was a bit surprised, recalling if he had seen a similar female recently.

Orty's arrival was well-tid, but her height exceeding 170CM didn't match the thief's profile.

Just thinking of Orty, her voice sounded beside him, "Luke, have you found any leads on the thief?"

Luke pointed at the shoe prints on the ground, "These may very well be the thief's prints."

The small garden wasn't paved, and Orty didn't step closely to avoid the mud as she scanned the surroundings, "There's no surveillance nearby, and it's hard to track the thief based solely on these prints."

Luke chuckled, "Don't underestimate these prints; they can provide many clues."

Orty glanced at the prints again, not sensing anything special.

Luke didn't elaborate further, laughing, "I'm going to et the officers investigating the case."

Orty laughed, "Did they recognize you?"

Luke shook his head, "I'm not a celebrity; why would I be recognized everywhere I go?"

Orty disagreed, "In the police and detective circles, you indeed are a star. Not recognizing you only shows a lack of ambition."

Luke laughed, "How about you? Do you admire even a little?"

"Sorry to disappoint you, I'm a detective without ambition."

"Want to co along?"

Orty tilted slightly, "Do you think this outfit is suitable?" ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ꜰʀᴏᴍ novel※fire

Orty wore a dark red diagonal off-the-shoulder dress, her figure curving attractively with two long legs exposed, very alluring.

Luke glanced appreciatively, "It looks fantastic."

The two returned to the hotel lobby together.

Luke asked the hotel manager, learning that the officers investigating were reviewing surveillance. With the manager's guidance, Luke and Orty went to the surveillance room.

"Knock, knock..."

After the manager knocked, he brought Luke and Orty into the surveillance room.

Officer Martin George looked up, "What can I do for you?"

"Officer, I'd like to inquire about the case's progress."
