Marcus's ho.

At eight in the morning, Little Black sat at the dining table eating breakfast. His mother carried a tray out from the kitchen and asked, "How did Julian sleep last night?"

Little Black ate breakfast and mumbled, "Pretty good, I guess."

"You an you slept pretty well. I could hear your snoring from the hallway. If I were Julian, I'd kick you out of bed."

"Mom, don't be so harsh. I'm contributing to this family too. You know I'm a Detective Chief now. Besides solving cases, I have to train newcors. The responsibilities and workload are much heavier than before..."

Marcus's mom interrupted him, placing her hands on the table and looking down, "Julian is nearing her due date, and she could go into labor at any ti. During the day, I'll watch over her.

But at night, you're closest to her, and you need to fulfill your duties as a husband and father."

"I will."

Marcus's mother said, "If you're exhausted from work during the day, take so ti off and return to work after Julian gives birth."

"Our team just received a tricky case. Without my involvent, they might not solve it. They need .

But... you're right. Julian and the baby are more important than the case. I'll talk to the captain."

"Good job. I'm proud of you, son." Marcus's mom smiled, clearly sincere.

"Should I go call Julian for breakfast?"

"No No No, sleeping more is good for a pregnant woman. I'll heat her al later. Finish eating and hurry to work."

"OK, I'll try to co back early tonight." Little Black continued eating breakfast, looking sowhat absent-minded, seemingly considering whether to ask Luke for leave.

"Ah oh..." A shout ca from upstairs.

Little Black paused for a mont, then dashed upstairs three steps at a ti, "Julian, what's wrong?"

Julian was standing at the bedroom door on the second floor, holding onto the doorfra, "I'm not feeling well, my stomach hurts. I think... my water broke."

"What! Your stomach hurts! Should I help you sit down?" Little Black rushed to Julian's side, supporting her, a bit at a loss.

Little Black's mother ca upstairs, concerned, "Julian, did your water break?"

"Yes." Julian was also a bit nervous but still patted Little Black's hand to comfort him, "Honey, I'm fine."

Little Black's mother asked, "Can you walk now?"

Julian nodded, "I think I can."

"Very good." Marcus's mother said calmly, "Marcus, help Julian downstairs. I'll pack and take her to the maternity hospital."

"Hey, babe, I've got you." Little Black took a deep breath, cautiously helping Julian down the stairs.

Marcus's mother had been waiting for this day, having prepared in advance and packed her bags. She brought two large bags downstairs, while Marcus helped Julian into the car.

Marcus accelerated the car, speeding off.

Marcus's mother said, "Don't worry, the water breaking is normal. It ans you're about to beco a father."

"OK, I'm not nervous." Little Black took a deep breath, glanced at Julian in the rearview mirror, and seeing her expression was normal, he let out a sigh of relief.

Half an hour later, the car arrived at nsa Tuofu Hospital. Little Black parked the car and helped Julian out, "Hey, babe, don't be nervous; we're here."

At the hospital, Julian cald down too and said, "Having Mom with is enough. Go to work."

"No, I'm not going anywhere today, just staying by your side. Cases and suspects can go to hell; no one can take away from you." Little Black helped Julian upstairs, silently wiping sweat from his brow. This is one life-threatening decision he wouldn't get wrong.

If he got it wrong, a woman might rember it for a lifeti. This text is hosted at ɴovelfire

'When I was giving birth, you were out solving a case. You might as well spend your life with the suspect.'

'Baby, did you know? When you were born, your dad was out solving a case. I gave birth to you with tears in my eyes.'

Little Black shook his head, thinking it was terrifying. Until the baby was born, he wouldn't leave her side for a mont.

Robbery and Murder Departnt eting room.

Luke stepped out of the office and clapped his hands, "Guys, let's have a morning eting to discuss your investigative progress."

The deputy said, "I led a team to review the road surveillance near the site where Harry Sabo was killed. In the footage, we found Harry Sabo's pickup truck, followed by a black Buick. I checked the license plate of that black Buick; it's a clone car.

I suspect this car is likely the one driven by the suspect.

I've been tracking this car, but we haven't located it yet."

"A black Buick." Luke repeated, the gunman who attacked Little William Moses drove a white Honda, which further confird Luke's suspicion that Harry Sabo's murderer and the shooter of Little William Moses were not from the sa group.

One used a clone car, the other deliberately covered the license plate. The forr's thod was clearly more sophisticated.

You wouldn't know it was fake if you don't check a clone car, but everyone knows there's a problem with a covered license plate.

Luke asked Jackson, "Any leads on the Honda car used in the attack on Little William Moses?"

Jackson spun a pen in his right hand, "We're tracking it, and we believe we'll have clues soon."
