Chapter 890: Chapter 872: Flattening Mist Mountain

To personally witness the ergence of the Great Demon is an event powerful enough to shake the world. Yet, looking at Rocky, who discovered the Great Demon firsthand, even fought against it and nearly lost his life, his calm deanor left many astonished.

Rocky, of course, felt tension and concern toward the Great Demon, but he showed little visible fear. On this point, Karina paled in comparison. While she hadn’t directly faced the Great Demon herself, once the dust settled, she couldn’t help but feel a lingering fright.

Just imagine: If Rocky hadn’t found her, if they hadn’t gone to Mist Mountain, then even now, she and the Allied Forces might remain ignorant of the Great Demon lurking right under their noses. If the Great Demon had taken action, the first to suffer would have been Mist Mountain City. In that case, how could Karina possibly have the strength to resist the Great Demon?

Thus, Rocky’s discovery of the Great Demon not only provided critical intelligence to the Allied Forces, enabling them to act proactively, but also invisibly saved Karina’s life. Otherwise, she undoubtedly would have been dood.

This left her shaken yet grateful. As a result, she raised no objections to Rocky’s arrangents; they indeed needed to leave this treacherous battlefield.

Under these circumstances, upon returning to Mist Mountain City, the group greeted Amuro, who had been on alert for a long ti, then imdiately activated the flight mode for Thunderhawk City and Rose City, swiftly departing Mist Mountain City.

Rocky had achieved all of his objectives in the warzone: saving Cyril and forging an alliance with Karina. He saw no need to wade further into this murky conflict. As for the terrifying Great Demon, it was better left to the Allied Forces to handle.

The Allied Forces did not excessively interfere with his decision to leave. Their full attention was focused on the Great Demon. Thus, half a day after Rocky and the others departed Mist Mountain City, the Allied Forces’ main forces arrived. Over thirty Imperial Sky Cities ford an encirclent around Mist Mountain, accompanied by tens of thousands of top-tier Rune Battleships engaging in the most intense bombardnt of Mist Mountain.

Regarding the Great Demon, the Allied Forces left nothing to chance. They dared not show any complacency. Their plan was straightforward: raze Mist Mountain entirely. Even if they couldn’t kill the Great Demon, they couldn’t allow it to remain under their watchful eyes.

The bombardnt persisted for two full days. Under the overwhelming firepower of the Rune Battleships, the already low terrain of Mist Mountain was reduced entirely to rubble. Yet, even then, the mist shrouding Mist Mountain did not dissipate. From the start of the bombardnt to its end, the Allied Forces remained uncertain about the situation within Mist Mountain. They could only glimpse flas and explosions piercing through the mist. Occasionally, high-level demons forced out by the bombardnt fled Mist Mountain.

Encircled by the Allied Forces’ main troops, the few escaping high-level demons were quickly eliminated without stirring up much trouble. But Great Demon Yami remained elusive.

In truth, the Allied Forces understood that the mist enveloping Mist Mountain itself was Great Demon Yami. This fact, corroborated by Rocky’s intelligence and existing records on Yami, was indisputable. Thus, when the two-day bombardnt concluded, thousands of Void Magic Warriors were dispatched into Mist Mountain.

Yami feared elental attacks. While traditional Void Magic Armor lacked elental attack capabilities, magic energy attacks were not physical strikes. To put it bluntly, the fire produced by the explosive magic energy attacks could be considered fire-attribute damage, capable of harming Yami to so extent.

The Allied Forces decided to leverage their nurical advantage to gradually wear down Yami. Thus, the first batch of Void Magic Warriors sent into Mist Mountain numbered over a thousand individuals, excluding even the elite Imperial Knight Order, which was reserved for deploynt at a later stage, even when facing a threat like Yami.

Such is war—true warfare—where so battles require throwing countless lives into the fray…

anwhile, while the Allied Forces poured all their effort into annihilating Yami at Mist Mountain, Rocky had already returned to Backhill Village with Karina.

“Any word from Berg?”

In the City Lord’s Mansion of Thunderhawk City, Karina sat in Rocky’s study, gazing at the massive sandtable as she asked her question.

“I’ve already spoken to him. His role in Peach Blossom Basin is far more significant than here at Backhill Village. He’s able to smuggle supplies to us from there, so he won’t be coming here anyti soon.”

Rocky, of course, made sure to maintain contact with Berg, and upon reaching out, Berg imdiately agreed to his invitation. However, as a rchant and the City Lord of a comrcial Sky Fortress, Berg proposed staying with the Allied Forces.

Unlike Karina, Berg wasn’t suited for combat. His primary responsibilities in the Allied Forces revolved around logistical support. Once Peach Blossom Basin was occupied, he was imdiately dispatched to the rear to manage the supply chain for the frontlines, including procurent and distribution of materials. In such a situation, his presence within the Allied Forces was far more impactful. As Berg himself admitted, being stationed at the rear enabled him to discreetly divert supplies from the Allied Forces to Rocky.

Such activities are inevitable everywhere, and the Allied Forces are no exception. Even though the risks are significant, as long as the operation isn’t overdone, and with Rocky’s strength and reputation providing cover, Berg wouldn’t be in any real danger. Thus, he wouldn’t return to Backhill Village in the near term.

“What about the Mairente Family? What’s your cousin’s stance?”

“Still deliberating.”

At the ntion of the Mairente Family, Rocky could only shake his head in resignation. Just yesterday, he had finished a lengthy conversation with Cyril. Cyril was eager to pull out of the Allied Forces and join Rocky. On one hand, Cyril trusted Rocky far more than the Allied Forces. On the other, given the Mairente Family’s current diminished strength, their contribution to the Allied Forces was minimal. Yet, they could still be of so use to Rocky. As long as they held value, Rocky ensured their interests were safeguarded, ultimately benefiting the family—a point of significant importance.

However, the Mairente Family remained a large faction. Even as the Clan Leader, Cyril could not make unilateral decisions. She was actively working to convince the family elders.

Rocky said resolutely, “Don’t worry about the Mairente Family. Unless sothing unexpected happens, they’ll agree with Cyril’s proposal. Sooner or later, they’ll join us.”

“Do you trust them?”

“As long as my strength is formidable, they wouldn’t dare play tricks.”

Rocky turned his gaze toward Karina, speaking bluntly. The relationship between Rocky and the Mairente Family was fundantally different compared to his bond with Karina. Yet, as Rocky emphasized, with sufficient strength, the opposing party wouldn’t dare engage in deceit—this was an absolute truth.

“It doesn’t bother . After all, when the ti cos, my collaboration is with you alone. I couldn’t care less about them.”

“You distrust them?”

“They’re too weak.”

Karina, too, spoke her mind. In her view, the current Mairente Family was a shadow of its forr self. She didn’t take their presence seriously, not even remotely.

Rocky chuckled and stood up, moving toward the sandtable. “Enough about them. Let’s hear your thoughts. You’ve been to Kasin City; do you think we could control it?”
