[Thanks to Jonathan Guedes, bonus chap release]

Hobert didn't imdiately open fire upon seeing the figure because, according to the information from the "Teleportation Statue," there was only one person in the room, and these figures were just illusions.

However, the atmosphere in the room felt like the domain of the Grim Reaper, and Hobert felt a sudden sense of dread in his spirituality.

Nevertheless, Hobert stepped into the room, imdiately feeling as if eyes were staring at him from all directions, making it difficult even for the "Teleportation Statue" to distinguish the real enemy.

The feeling of being surrounded by evil spirits was unbearable, and Hobert guessed that this ghost domain must be a special ability the opponent gained during the "Listener" stage.

Beyonders of that sequence often obtained many bizarre abilities from the information they gleaned while 'listening,' which were further enhanced in the "Shadow Ascetic" sequence, becoming unpredictable and formidable.

Hobert holstered his gun, took another step forward, and pulled out several "Uncontrolled Stones" from his pocket.

A series of sinister voices echoed, "Arrogant fool, do you really think you can defeat ?"

In the darkness, the figures in the room reached out to grab Hobert, and his spirituality warned him that being caught by them would cause so damage to his astral body.

Moreover, the room was filled with a chilling atmosphere of terror; although Hobert didn't find the scene particularly frightening, his spirituality was constantly trembling.

However, thanks to the "Spirit Necklace," the fear was still within an acceptable range.

Just as the shadows were about to grab Hobert, he finally made his move, throwing three "Uncontrolled Stones" in quick succession toward the direction of the voice, achieving "saturation bombardnt," while chanting the incantation:

"Distort!"

"Distort!"

"Distort!"

In the room, the high-ranking power of "Distortion" erupted, and order seed to suddenly collapse, as if everything around was shrouded in this force, becoming exceptionally fragile.

The movents of the surrounding shadows froze, like puppets with severed strings, only able to maintain their final poses.

While throwing the three "Uncontrolled Stones," Hobert also completed the process of "bribery," and then continued with his "combo move":

"Weaken!"

A large portion of the surrounding shadows imdiately vanished, and the room was no longer pitch black; a few rays of light filtered in, indicating that the opponent's power had been significantly weakened.

This was the main reason why Hobert dared to be so reckless in this operation: his strength was there!

He was now Sequence 7, and he possessed many mystical items, so of which were particularly effective against Beyonders of the "Secret Supplicant" pathway, so Hobert directly chose to confront the enemy head-on.

Having been a Beyonder for so long, Hobert had roughly realized that the entire "Black Emperor" pathway, on the whole, was about challenging order and challenging rules.

Such sequences often required a spirit of daring to face enemies head-on, which was the biggest difference from the "Seer" pathway.

Hobert even considered whether Klein beca "Klein the Coward" because he chose the "Seer" pathway?

Was he Klein because he was a Seer, or was he a Seer because he was Klein?

After all, each pathway had its own characteristics; the charlatan-like aura of Sequence 9 "Seer" was sotis very annoying, and since they didn't have much self-defense ability, they could only "follow their heart's" choice.

And one of the characteristics of Sequence 9 "Lawyer" was that they liked to argue with others; because this sequence didn't have very strong abilities, they often had to endure.

By the ti they reached "Barbarian," they couldn't endure anymore; at this stage, they had both the habit of arguing with others, and if they pushed the other party too far and they wanted to fight, the "Barbarian" could continue to "physically persuade" them.

Because of the difference in abilities, the Beyonder's temperant would often change accordingly; anyway, Hobert felt refreshed every ti he acted recklessly, and even his spirituality would beco more lively.

Of course, he would be reckless when he should be, but if the opponent was a Sequence 6, Hobert wouldn't have any psychological burden to use dirty tricks.

For example, using the "Teleportation Stone Statue" to move a "Uncontrollable Stone" under the enemy's feet to seize the initiative.

And when encountering enemies of higher sequences, he should still run when he needed to.

Recklessness didn't an stupidity.

These thoughts were just so of Hobert's previous reflections, flashing through his mind. Returning to the scene of the capture operation, although this was originally the "Shadow Ascetic's" ho turf, Hobert gained an absolute advantage as soon as he made a move.

"Got you!" Hobert laughed.

The "Teleportation Statue" finally found the "Shadow Ascetic" who was struggling to resist losing control! Now the opponent was moving slowly and was very weak, like a lamb waiting to be slaughtered.

With a "teleportation," the "Shadow Ascetic" appeared in front of Hobert.

Hobert smiled as he grabbed his gun, "Who's the fool?"

With that, he fired at the "Shadow Ascetic."

At the mont of firing, the "Shadow Ascetic" used his ability with a face full of pain, making himself ethereal to avoid Hobert's bullet.

The "Shadow Ascetic's" left shoulder suddenly swelled up, as if a new head was about to grow, because he had used his Beyonder power again, bringing him closer to losing control.

Hobert calmly fired another shot, and all the shadows in the room gathered around, and these ghostly powers helped the "Hermit" block the shot.

The "fear" atmosphere emitted by the ghost domain imdiately dissipated, and the "Shadow Ascetic's" eerie abilities had been completely defeated by Hobert.

Taking advantage of the shadows blocking a shot for him, the "Shadow Ascetic" quickly jumped out of the window.

But just as he ran to the window, he was moved back by Hobert using the "Teleportation Statue."

The "Shadow Ascetic" was stunned. Didn't he just get to the front of the window? Could it be that he had signs of losing control and was hallucinating?

Hobert didn't hold back.

Bang~

He fired a third shot. The "Shadow Ascetic" didn't dare to use his Beyonder abilities anymore. He desperately dodged, taking the shot on his shoulder, and then jumped out of the window.

Whoosh~

The window was smashed by the "Shadow Ascetic," but the "Shadow Ascetic" returned to Hobert's face.

He opened his mouth wide: That's not right, wasn't I jumping out of the window? How did I jump in front of him?

If it were normal tis, the "Shadow Ascetic" could have guessed that this should be the ability of an enemy's sealed item, but now his mind was full of maddening whispers, and the reason left to him was full of unreality.

Bang~

Another shot, this shot hit the "Shadow Ascetic's" head solidly.

The "Shadow Ascetic" almost instinctively etherealized his head. Although he dodged the bullet, his loss of control beca more severe.

Seeing that the ti was right, Hobert poured his spirituality into the "Psychological Spoon": "Madness!"

The "Shadow Ascetic" lost his last shred of reason. Just as he was about to completely lose control, Hobert fired the remaining two shots, blowing through his head.

Seeing that the opponent's loss of control was still continuing, Hobert simply put away his gun and used the "Teleportation Statue" to move the "Shadow Ascetic" to the street.

Bang bang bang bang~

Lorreta and Borgia, who were ambushing outside, fired continuously, emptying all their bullets.

The "Shadow Ascetic" fell to the ground, the signs of losing control stopped, leaving only instinctive twitches.

Lorreta blew on the muzzle of her gun: "I can collect my salary with a clear conscience after firing all the bullets."
