The Hollow was alive.

Torches hissed in the mist. Goblin warriors lined the cliffs, their crude armor sared in blood and paint. Hollowspawn coiled in the deep caves, twitching, hungry. Shia sharpened her blades in silence, eyes locked on the tree line, waiting for Hadren’s soldiers to appear.

But it wasn’t Hadren who ca first.

It was sothing else.

The fog near the eastern periter thickened.

Two goblins vanished without a sound. A third returned, eyes rolled back, tongue bitten off. No wounds. Just gone.

Then Reed felt it: pressure. Like the air was holding its breath.

A shape erged—cloaked in black stitched with red thread, hood drawn low. He moved like smoke through still water. No footprints. No scent.

Reed t him at the outer pit, Thornblade already unsheathed.

The figure bowed—not out of respect, but ritual.

"I bring no harm. Only opportunity."

Shia appeared beside Reed in an instant, Wraithstep humming behind her eyes.

The man raised one gloved hand. "If I ant offense, you’d already be bleeding."

He introduced himself simply: "An emissary. The Council of Shadows sends greetings, Lord Varn."

Reed’s eyes narrowed. "Never heard of them."

The emissary chuckled, voice like silk sliding over a blade. "You wouldn’t have. We don’t exist on maps. Or records. But we’ve watched."

He extended a sealed letter. Wax black as dried blood. Crest: a spiral eye stabbed through with a dagger.

Reed didn’t touch it.

"Speak."

"We are a collection of Lords, exiles, and fragnts of the System itself," the emissary said. "We operate where your Council won’t. We break what they protect. You... are of interest."

Shia hissed, "Why now?"

"Because Lord Hadren is not your real enemy."

The emissary gestured toward the Hollowspawn pit.

"You know what’s coming. Hadren has power. Favor. Artifacts older than the Council itself. What he lacks is desperation. What you lack is ti."

Reed stayed silent.

"So we offer... this."

He opened a small pouch and poured its contents into the fire. The flas hissed—turning violet. Screams echoed from inside them—not physical screams, but mories of pain.

[Artifact Revealed: Seed of Undoing]Effect (Single Use): Breaks magical wards within a 1km radius. Nullifies enchantnts, seals, and divine blessings for 10 minutes.

Reed stared at the fire. Then at the emissary.

"Nothing’s free."

The emissary smiled.

"You’re right. In return, when the Council falls—and it will—we ask for one favor."

"What kind?"

"When the ti cos, you open a gate."

"What’s behind the gate?" Reed asked.

"We don’t know. But the System locked it. Which ans it’s afraid."

Shia’s voice was cold. "And if we refuse?"

The emissary shrugged. "Then we disappear. You face Hadren alone. And perhaps, you still win. Or perhaps... your Hero dies trying to hold your heart in your chest while a stag blade runs her through."

Reed clenched Thornblade so tightly, bone cracked.

The emissary chuckled. "We’ll wait. You’ve proven clever. Dangerous. Perfect for us."

"I don’t give favors," Reed said. "I make trades."

The emissary tilted his head.

"You want that gate opened one day? Fine. But if I die in the next 24 hours, so does your future."

"...Fair."

"Then here’s my price."

Reed extended a bloodied scroll.

"I want the nas of all Lords aligned with Hadren, directly or through proxy. I want their weaknesses, their debts, their vices."

The emissary bowed again, deeper this ti.

"You’ll have it."

[Temporary Pact Ford: Council of Shadows]Perks Gained:– Seed of Undoing (One-ti item)– Enemy Intelligence Report (Pending)– Artifact Alert Network (Passive for 48 hours)

Warning: Alignnt with unrecognized faction will trigger System observation. Increased Corruption Threshold Risk.

Benefit: You are now considered "Unbound" by traditional diplomacy structures. You are feared. Not negotiated.

Reed turned to Shia as the emissary vanished into the mist like a mory.

"I don’t like being anyone’s pawn."

"Then beco the board."

They stood in silence as goblins prepared for battle—sharpening weapons, feeding Hollowspawn, saring blood on the rocks.

Then ca the final System ping:

[Domain Clash Begins in 3 Hours]Enemy Forces: 127 ConfirdHero: Sylvan Knight

Lord Hadren Status: Mobilized.

Weather Interference: Active Stormfront (Mana-Charged)Effects: Disrupts long-range spells. Increases stealth opportunities.

Shia tied her blades.

Reed looked to the dark treeline where Feyroot lood.

Then...

A shadow moved within the storm.

A figure mounted on a white stag.

Hadren. Watching. Smiling. Waiting.

Reed drew Thornblade and whispered:

"Let’s end gods."
