His control over the darkness elent quadrupled and his speed increased by a notch.

He again attacked his mimic with full power.

The mimic matched him in strength, speed, and even the dexterity with which Valtar fought. No trick of his work on the mimic, no matter what he tried. He was almost feeling frustrated at this point. His ghostbounds all remained as statues. Without killing the shadow demon, I guess they are not getting free.

The mimic did everything exactly like him in every move or tactic. It was like a mirror. Anything he did, it did the sa. Valtar thought of an idea and slapped himself in the face, then imdiately looked at the mimic, seeing it not do the sa thing as him he could not help but curse,

"The fuck? I slapped myself, Why don’t you slap yourself too?"

System [.......]

The mimic, "...."

Valtar shook his head in frustration and got serious, even though the damn mimic could basically do every action of his in the exact sa way. This thing copied all of his skills, tactics, or maybe even his thought process. However, one thing was there that it could not copy.

The skill of the ’Dark Crown’ granted him quadrupled darkness control, since it was a power that ca from an external object, this was sothing the damn mimic could not copy. So, he deactivated all the other unnecessary skills cleared his mind of anything else, and simply focused on that one point now he had the advantage on.

He gathered all the darkness he could master with his increased control, then poured all of that darkness into his sword making it so dense in the darkness that it almost began to slightly attract the particles of light surrounding it, it was a bizarre scene. When the darkness is heavy enough, it serves to illuminate the light even more.

That was what was happening right now, the darkness itself glistened in the dim twilight of the shadow mountains peak. The mimic changed its stance to sothing different than its opponent for the first from the start of the fight.

Valtar with a loud stomp on the ground jumped high in the sky, but this move was also dangerous, especially in their current location which was the peak of the shadow mountain, there was not much space in this place to move around. But Valtar was not afraid, because he had confidence in what he was doing obviously.

With a powerful swing of his sword, he made a powerful vertical slash with his sword high up in the sky, pure darkness shot out from his sword, and it traveled in a crescent arc which shot straight towards the mimic, despite how much of Valtar’s existence it can replicate, at the end of the day it was still mostly made of pure darkness and the essence of the Shadow Demon had itself in it.

So, taking the pure destructive attack of darkness head-on would be a foolish thing to do on its behalf as it had no choice but to jump towards the sidelines to not get hit by the attack. But how can it be so simple?

The mass of darkness in a crescent shape hit the ground and it turned from solid to liquid and spread throughout the part of the mountain. The ground itself beca covered in a thin layer of liquid darkness. The shadow mimic was now standing on top of that liquid form of darkness. It wasn’t so much that it hindered one’s walking rather it felt like walking through wet mud, where every ti you take a step, your feet sink 1,2 inches into the ground.

That would be all if soone wasn’t controlling it deliberately that is. Valtar was approaching the mimic in firm steps. Unlike the mimic the darkness was controlled by him, so how could it obstruct his steps? Wherever Valtar stepped that small part of the darkness simply turned solid, posing no difficulty for him to walk.

The mimic on the other hand was struggling furiously to even take a single step forward or backward, the liquid form of darkness clung to the shadow’s feet like super glue. Valtar commanded the darkness to form the shape of the crucible. The darkness that covered the top part of the mountain grounds began to shrink slowly and started climbing like a worm on the body of the mimic.

Slowly a pillar made of darkness held the mimic 2 feet above the ground, and then an extension ford horizontally from the position of the shoulder, tying up the mimic’s hand. Just like how Valtar was tied to a crucible in the underground hall of the Dark Elven tribe.

Finally, the system notified him.

[You have t the hidden conditions, and the ’Dark Crown’ is currently active in your possession, The hidden relic ’Eternal Dark Fire’ has revealed itself.]

Valtar was not surprised by these events actually, he knew that there was likely so deeper reason for this fire to exist, there was a secret use of this fla. This thing didn’t even reveal itself in the ’Artifacts and relics’ section of the system interface.

’So, it’s used for this?’ thought Valtar.

The shadow mimic had been struggling desperately for all this ti, but it was obviously futile.

Valtar held up his hand towards the Shadow mimic bound in the crucible and dark blue fire ignited in his hand. The mont the fire showed itself outside, the mimic’s body started creaking and it slowly transford back into the shadow demon forcefully, it still had that imnse fear in its eyes when it looked at Valtar.

Yet, it did not want to die so easily. Its beastly cries of terror resounded throughout the top of the mountain in a continuous haunting echo.......

KRRREEEEAAAK! SSSSHHKKK! AAAHHHH! CRREEEEAAAK!

Valtar’s expression remained unchanged no matter how desperately the demon cried in front of him. He simply snapped his fingers and....

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!

When Valtar snapped his fingers the dark blue fire vanished from his hands and the body of the shadow demon started burning directly. It scread relentlessly, an inhumane cry of pain that made the shadows of the entire forest shudder. Every shadow beast that lay within the grounds of shadow began to whimper as the most powerful one among them fell at the hands of a vile human.

While the man of question himself remained standing right in front of the burning shadow demon, who wailed beyond its capacity to do so. His expression was indifferent, he was only thinking of losses and gains as well as the reason why the demon at that ti looked so overwhelmingly terrified of him right after setting its foot in his shadow.

What did it see there? What was inside his heart or soul? For a beast to beco afraid to such an extent? No one knew, no one would either. Until a long long ti in the future, when the world itself would realize that it had brought the greatest Evil upon itself in the guise of a savior.

Unknowingly, a dark smile crept onto Valtar’s face. Because he had sothing that was in his heart. He knew in his core that his nature was simply Evil, pure evil. But it was not a result of his mother’s death or anything. It was there, from the very beginning, at his core he was always the most selfish being in the world, as he only cared for his family, it was sothing that anchored him to the rules of society, to humanity.

But that shackle was no more. He closed his eyes in slight lancholy and took a deep breath.

When he opened his eyes, he had finally accepted his true nature whole heartedly, there was no need to deny it anymore. His eyes which glowed blood red from ti to ti despite his real eye color being blue now had a symbol of red swirling pattern in them which was hard to ignore.

The system notified him at this mont.

[You have accepted your true nature]

[Your alignnt has been permanently changed to "Chaotic Evil"]

[Your Material Resonance has advanced to 10%]

[Your existence has beco more sacrosanct.]

He gave a short glance at the notifications but he had reached an oddly calm state unlike before, it was not sothing like suppressing his emotions or forcefully increasing his ability to focus but rather his mind, soul, and body were more in sync maybe? he did not have the right answer to it.

His eyes then returned to the burning shadow demon, its bottom half seed to have already been turned to ash. This fla truly worked strangely, it seed to be burning its victim from bottom to upward while not letting them die at once.

He thought back to the peculiar conversation between the two guards who were guarding the dead bodies of the third elder and the other 2nd stage elves that he killed first, right after entering the dark elf’s area. One of them ntioned the fire to be able to grant the most grueso death to its victim.

His eyes narrowed, considering how madly the shadow demon had been screaming till a mont and the look on its face. He could not help but agree with that statent of the two guards. Even he felt so trepidation towards the fire.

"What a dangerous fla indeed." thought Valtar.

After waiting for 5 or more minutes, the existence of the shadow demon had been burned to complete cinders without a trace of it left within this world.
