"There’s no ti for questions, we need to get out of here," Alioth responded seriously.

He knew that priest wouldn’t be soone simple to deal with.

The priests of that world were quite powerful due to miracles.

Unlike what was common in the fiction of his world, priests didn’t limit themselves to simply using healing magic.

Miracles could provide a great variety of attacks, and the more experience a priest had, the larger their arsenal of techniques would be.

And that priest in question didn’t seem to need experience.

"Okay, okay! But let go, I can walk on my own," the girl demanded as she tried to free herself on her own.

The snakes on her head fluttered dangerously, hissing nervously.

Afraid of being accidentally bitten by one of her hairs, Alioth decided to obey.

"Alright, but hurry up and get out of here," the boy indicated, carefully setting the girl on the ground.

The girl sighed with relief when her feet made contact with the ground, as if she felt free again.

After doing that, she fixed her honey-colored eyes on Alioth, analyzing him.

"I don’t know who you are, but I owe you one," the girl said sincerely. "I’m Ruth, and you, what’s your na?"

The girl asked.

Upon hearing that na, Alioth’s eyes opened wide.

That was the na of the girl Nora was trying to save, and the main reason they were here.

Alioth couldn’t help but feel so relief now that he knew Ruth was okay, but at the sa ti, he had to make sure she got out of there safely.

"I’m A—"

Before he could finish his sentence, a golden glow blinded them both for a few monts.

When they recovered their sight, they both could see how the priest was already standing, staring at them intently.

Well, it was more accurate to say that his gaze was fixed on Alioth.

"Oh, it’s you again?" he asked with a cold and dark calm that froze Alioth’s blood.

The boy didn’t take long to react, quickly making a movent with his hands, indicating what Abzu should do.

The sphere of living water gathered in front of him again, taking the shape of a spear and spinning like a drill.

"Quick Ruth, get out of here," Alioth exclaid as his hands ford another position and Abzu shot toward the priest.

Abzu shot out at a speed similar to a bullet, spinning at about 6,300 rpm.

It was a rotation speed sufficient to pierce through a concrete wall, however the priest reacted easily.

He closed his fist and with a circular outward movent, struck the water drill with his forearm, making it burst.

Abzu exploded into a thousand pieces, splashing around.

"Is that all you can do? You’re really weak for how long you’ve been alive," the priest comnted, with a chilling smile on his face.

Alioth gritted his teeth at that comnt, he had countered an attack from Abzu with disturbing speed.

However, Ruth was already running toward the exit, so he had at least managed to accomplish his main objective: getting her to safety.

After all, he only had to buy ti until Aida returned, though he already found it strange that she was taking so long to co back.

"What was the point of you surviving that night? If now you ca back to die," the old man then said, with a confident attitude.

Alioth clenched his fists tightly, he felt his blood boiling.

He could still rember how that bastard had ordered them to get rid of him, ignoring his mother’s pleas.

He was responsible for him almost ending up as rat food.

He had taken away his life.

And while he wasn’t going to complain about the luck he had of being rescued by his teacher, Anansi.

He couldn’t help but hate that guy.

"Tch, you haven’t seen anything I can do yet," Alioth responded with seriousness and contained anger in his voice.

It was true, he had found a way to use "magic" or sothing similar, without needing ka.

He had defied the limits of the world, he had found a flaw in the system.

He wasn’t a nobody, he wasn’t useless, not anymore.

"Ohhh, I’m sure you have," the old man responded with a mocking tone. "Go ahead, I’ll be delighted to see this power you boast so much about."

Alioth raised an eyebrow, alert.

Was he going to let him attack just like that?

The white-haired boy wasn’t disconcerted by the priest’s confidence.

Alioth was a kid who hadn’t awakened, he lacked ka, the essential force for life and the source of magic.

He lacked orgone, the divine protection that protects all living beings and endows them with supernatural physical qualities.

His only feat was using a kind of spirit magic without chanting.

However, there was no way the priest would feel intimidated by sothing like that.

Spirit magic was inferior to miracles, the weakest miracle could destroy a common spiritual spell without much difficulty.

You’d have to be a great spirit to be able to defeat a high-level priest with spirit magic.

Or at least have a legendary level with this art.

Because keter was the power of the gods, and it stood above nature.

And spirits were nature itself.

In fact, spirit magic employed ka not only because spirits grew stronger if they consud this vital essence of divine origin, but because ka inherited that quality of the gods to command nature.

For all these reasons, Alioth knew that priest wouldn’t see him as a threat.

However, he didn’t understand why he was giving him a chance in the first place.

In every encounter, that priest had tried to get rid of him quickly, but now, he almost seed curious about what Alioth could do.

’No, stop overthinking it Alioth, take advantage of your enemy’s confidence.’

The boy told himself, as he smiled.

The spirits he had freed pulsed around him, waiting to be used by him.

"Alright, I’ll give you that pleasure."
