Capítulo 817: Chapter 686: Strange Rat People

“Let !”

Tang Qi, who was selecting a venue on the Fool’s Ship, suddenly heard a loud shout.

Looking down, he saw a scene of carnage full of Frogman corpses inside the dock, where a tragedy of many against few was occurring. However, the “victim” was not innocent humans, but an ugly, foul-slling monster, a mutated mber of the rmaid Royal Family.

Its body was riddled with wounds, showing various damage effects of the Curios. Compared to the initial mutation, its form now appeared extrely shriveled, evidently due to the depletion of Extraordinary Power, like toxic water and poison fog.

Its subordinates were all dead or injured, leaving it as the lone monster. Due to the lter barrier shrouding the dock, escape attempts were futile, and it turned to fight desperately, only to be pushed back into the sewage pit after a concentrated attack.

At that mont, its struggling body was completely restrained by dozens of lter Wizards, and the one who shouted was Klaus Lovic, the down-and-out painter. He leapt up from the ground, grasping the heavy sword that had been constantly piercing the rmaid royal’s head.

With the cooperation of the other Wizards, his arms burst forth with power, as flas surged, the heavy sword was “activated,” and molten magic more explosive than ever flowed, cutting through resilient, filthy flesh.

Boom! Sizzle!

With a strange sound, the monster body of the rmaid Royal was almost cleaved in half from the head, cold, foul-slling blood poured like a waterfall, with sticky filants desperately trying to rebind the two halves.

At this mont, everyone could see the horrific scene inside its body: nearly completely rotten organs, a digestive system full of maggots, a pouch spewing eggs of death despite being filled with deathly energy…

“Now, sacrifice it!”

Just as they were utterly shocked, Annie Fox, covered in filthy blood, suddenly shouted.

The other Wizards, also in miserable, filthy states, reacted, simultaneously placing their palms on the freezing cold body of the dying rmaid Royal.

“Sacrifice!”

Forty lter Wizards spoke in unison, launching the lting Furnace Sacrifice Technique.

Their magic power was nearly exhausted, but at this mont, an unknown Red Light Flas frantically erupted and instantly converged, producing a massive magic portal outlined by light flas. On the other side of the portal was an unimaginable power, forcibly pulling the struggling rmaid Royal inside.

Annie Fox, Klaus Lovic, and the forty new mbers finally completed their first sacrifice at this mont.

Each of them was imrsed in the joy of “harvested rit.”

Unknowingly, above them, the Fool’s Ship slowly descended.

Tang Qi looked at the disappearing golden portal, a smile involuntarily appeared on his lips.

No. 2 Tang Qi was now a body of a lting Furnace Priest, and without needing to spy, he knew at a glance how much rit the novices had exchanged for in their first sacrifice.

Half a sun?

In reality, it was even less.

Approximately one-tenth of a sun, and it had to be divided among forty people, pitifully little. But even so, Tang Qi clearly felt a “joyful” will transmitted from behind the golden portal.

He could imagine that if the Master of the Crucible had a face, it would be showing a comforting smile now.

This is easily understood, akin to a lone traveler about to die of thirst in a desert, finally touching water, even if it’s just a drop.

After the collective death of the forebears in the Dark Era, the Master of the Crucible was left without sacrifices.

The Spiritual Tide resurged, a New Era arrived.

Finally, He sensed the only remaining Molten Furnace Seed, which was Tang Qi.

And this seed ca in with a grand gesture, even as a novice, his first sacrifice was the Evil God’s Intestines. Compared to the rmaid Servant with just a drop of Evil God Blood, Tang Qi’s starting point was far higher.

At this speed, even with only one lting Wizard left, He wouldn’t be too pitiful.

Until He discovered the only lting Wizard was a very perfunctory, selfish Salted Fish that, despite possessing great power, wouldn’t be less than the lters of the Dark Era, was not proactive in sacrifices, constantly ignoring His released signals.

Now, He finally felt the long-lost “sweet” taste.

Though little, the sight of forty lting Wizards sacrificing together was enough to bring Him joy.

In terms of human society, He could start dreaming of a beautiful future.

Due to the rits being too few, and evenly divided, the forty people’s first sacrifice didn’t yield enough rits to allow them to exchange for powerful witchcraft, Curios, or direct upgrades.

Forty people, except for a few, chose to treat themselves. Hunting down chaotic, evil creatures, naturally couldn’t co without a corresponding price. Even Anne Fox, who had begun to show her domineering and fierce temperant, had suffered severe injuries to her body.

Of course, there were exceptions, such as Happy Fisher.

All fat, yet incredibly agile, covered in bloodstains, but it was all frogman blood, and he himself remained unscathed.

He used his only rit for an upgrade, and in the blink of an eye, his Molten Magic beca the first among the newcors.

The exchange was complete, and the healing ended.

The forty people almost simultaneously raised their heads, and simultaneously saw their leader with a smile, slowly saying, “Board the ship for the next round.”

His tone was as if he was entirely certain that no one would have any objections and would follow him to the next training site, continuing to participate in this extrely dangerous ga.

The answer was revealed the next second.

The forty lter Wizards, from noble girls of obvious wealth to white-haired elders, all made the sa choice.

In their eyes, light flas surged, and with unmatched agility, they flipped onto the Fool’s Ship.

In Farahan District, the true old town of Eagle’s Nest City, it once had a glorious history but gradually declined, leaving behind so old residents and poor people from all over the world chasing dreams.

Most people here don’t have nightlife, so aside from the rustling noises made by rogue hooligans or gang mbers, the entire district appears unusually quiet.

However, if soone at this mont passed by the Farahan District subway station, the first old station built in Eagle’s Nest City, and listened carefully on the ground, they would imdiately hear a chaotic war taking place deep underground.

Going further down the subway station, through a shattered wall, a vast, dark space suddenly appears. Here, dozens of human figures are slaughtering an innurable number of “monsters.”

The “archetype” of these monsters is easy to discern; their original form was mice.

But now, they’ve mutated. Their bodies have swollen, fangs turned outward, and from their mouths occasionally surged bright red tentacles. They charged the lter Wizards like a tide, shielding a dozen or so figures escaping at the end of the mouse tide.

Unlike the rat monsters, they wore human clothes and accessories.

Yet the nasty long-haired bodies they possess show that they are not genuine humans, despite standing upright, dragging long tails, thick legs, and hideous swollen rat heads… they are Ratn, and all possess intelligence.

They’re extrely timid, and upon sensing the lter Wizards attacking the nest, this entire family didn’t hesitate to flee.

Their gender and even ages are distinctly visible, with the leader being an old “mother rat” in the center. Apart from the ugly rat head, its image is akin to a kindly old lady, portly, slow-moving, and even using a cane.

Tang Qi was hovering in the air behind the tunnel.

Still just watching, without any intention of intervening, he observed the extrely pitiful scene as though disaster-struck, with the whole family avoiding it—both comical and sorrowful.

In his eyes, the killing intent surged.

The forty attacking lter Wizards also showed undisguised anger and murderous intent on their faces.

Information related to the scene before them floated through their minds.

“Starting half a month ago, the Farahan District subway system frequently experienced disappearances. Since many of the initially missing were beggars and holess drifters, it didn’t attract much attention… the trigger point of the incident was when a track repairman accidentally discovered a large amount of excrent in a tunnel.”

“The coroner of Farahan Police Station cleared a large number of undigested human teeth, hair, and so broken bones from the excrent, initially estimating more than seventy victims.”

“The police station promptly organized a search operation. Several officers involved were attacked, with one survivor, while the rest were dragged away by unknown creatures. Analysis of the footage from the recording equipnt left by the attacked officers led senior police officers to conclude that the incident involved Extraordinary Creatures, and it was reported to a higher level.”

“The Holy Eagle Nest Society’s subsidiary organization, the Exotic Realm Species Accommodation Administration, received the case. The Administration re-reviewed the chain of evidence involved in the case, quickly concluding: the Extraordinary Creatures appearing deep within the Farahan subway were identified as Exotic Realm creatures ‘Strange Rat People.'”

“The Strange Rat People are extrely tenacious Extraordinary creatures. They have visited Origin Star during the Age of Ignorance and the Dark Era and have caused dozens of large-scale rat plagues, slaughtering a terrifying number of humans. They are rumored to worship the Mysterious Side’s first Ratman and were promoted to All Spirits’ ‘Doomsday Rat God’ during the Age of Ignorance.”

“Strange Rat People are naturally cruel and have a preference for sweets, yet at the top of their diet is always humans.”

“The Administration consultant speculates that the number of Strange Rat People in this case would not exceed twenty. They’re likely advance spies from Tranqi Planet, slightly likely to be refugee Ratn scattered outside Tranqi Planet.”

“This incident has been taken over by an advanced mber, who promised to resolve it within three days. The mber refused containnt assistance and will activate the No.1 Extermination Protocol.”

“Administration opinion response: Agreed!”
