Chapter 665: Chapter 581 Defection (1st update, asking for monthly tickets!)

Tang Qi was not well-versed in divination or prophecy-related witchcraft, nor did he have any such Curios in his collection, but he always had a sharper premonition and intuition than other Transcendents, which perhaps is an extension of his still inexplicable Special Ability.

From the first encounter with the Divine Avatar of Sims, subsequent signs have almost made it clear that an unimaginable cataclysm is about to occur at so mont.

This cataclysm involved “Great Catastrophe” and “Dominator-level Gods,” and he needed to arrange even more.

Recalling McGraw was just one of them.

After completing these tasks, Tang Qi dealt with so internal affairs of the school before heading straight down to the bottom three floors.

“Let’s read for a while. My level of Mysticism is scholarly to most Transcendents, but against soone of Mrs. Loring’s caliber, I barely scrape by. It wouldn’t do any good to show weakness in an exchange,” he thought.

Tang Qi’s so-called “while” clearly ant a whole day here.

All day long, students from several grades of the Witch School could see their esteed Principal wholly imrsed in various arcane and abstruse books, with the speed of his “whooshing” page-turning causing so skeptical students to wonder if Mr. Principal was really reading.

Soon, a brave soul appeared.

A girl with thick, black-frad glasses and ssy red hair resembling a bird’s nest, sowhat similar in temperant to Sally – except this girl had an abundance of freckles on her face and her features tended towards cute rather than enchantingly beautiful.

Clutching a thick book titled “Great Scholar Randall’s Autobiography,” she found Tang Qi in the “Mysterious Event” section, where he was surrounded by nurous books, nimbly avoiding rows of Dark Red Boro Wood shelves.

The girl, sowhat nervous and stamring, said, “Mr… Mr. Principal, I’m Anna. May I ask you a question?”

“Of course!”

Tang Qi smiled warmly, his innate strong affinity shining through.

Called Anna, the girl soon relaxed significantly. Curiously, she pointed to the large pile of books behind Tang Qi and asked, “Does every scholar get to use your reading thod, Mr. Principal? It seems to be incredibly efficient.”

Hearing this, Tang Qi took another look at the book in Anna’s arms and imdiately grasped the girl’s thought.

At the sa ti, at least a dozen pairs of eyes from around were cast in his direction.

Clearly, they, like Anna, aspired to beco scholars or mysticologists and were envious of Tang Qi’s reading thod.

They all thought along similar lines, “If I could read at that speed, I could soon beco a scholar with extensive knowledge.”

Seeing the curiosity in the students’ eyes, Tang Qi smiled again, responding, “Certainly not. Even among scholars, very few can read in that way.”

“Why can you?”

Anna asked without thinking, but it quickly dawned on her that although Tang Qi looked only slightly older than her, not the image of a powerful middle-aged man or a sage elder, he was a renowned strong figure throughout the Federation.

Shouldn’t he be special?

Anna was about to apologize when she saw Tang Qi shrug his shoulders, smile brightly and proudly, and then answer, “Because…”

The students braced themselves for the answer, only to hear:

“I am a genius.”

In an instant, Tang Qi saw Anna and all the students pause, their expressions rigid, clearly astonished by their shaless Principal.

But upon second thought, they realized that among Tang Qi’s many titles indeed existed “Genius Polymath.”

Just as they were resigning themselves to this odd notion, they saw a mischievous smile on Tang Qi’s face. He nodded toward the autobiography that Anna was clutching and seriously said, “Every scholar has their preferred thod of reading.”

“For example, Sir Randall, as one of the most famous Great Polymaths of the Old Continent during the Dark Era, often employed a reading thod called ‘Sleep Thought,’ enabling her to read and think in her sleep, aning she was learning almost her entire life.”

“If we were to rank the history of Great Polymaths, even without the bonus for being a woman, Sir Randall would be among the top ten.”

“However, you need to know that Sir Randall only acquired ‘Sleep Thought Skill’ in her later years. Before that, she too could only use normal learning thods until she found her path and gained a unique understanding of knowledge.”

“My thod is not yet comparable to ‘Sleep Thought,’ and it is not sothing you can use at your current stage.”

“So, do you know what to do now?”

“Study hard, children.”

With that, Tang Qi patted Anna’s ssy hair, took the pile of books, and headed to the second floor.

He did not deceive Anna; his reading thod, akin to cheating, indeed wasn’t suited for the group of students.

In truth, it wasn’t a mystery; soone with Tang Qi’s vast spiritual power and strong physique, constantly practicing the “Refining thod” to gain matchless control skills, combined with so “Talent,” could employ this approach.

Of course, these several conditions almost entirely exclude most scholars.

As far as Tang Qi knew, only a few people, like Rafael, could read this way.

Jennifer, the outward “Receptionist” of the Ancient Castle Bureau, and her father were also scholars, yet they couldn’t do it.

And in terms of speed, Rafael and others couldn’t match Tang Qi.

Once he left, the students imdiately gathered around Anna, excitedly touching her tangled hair while exclaiming in wonder.

“Wow, Anna, you’re so lucky, the Principal is indeed very kind.”

“And very handso, such profound knowledge.”

“Have you finished reading this book, Anna? I want to take a look too. So Sir Randall is a woman, that’s amazing.”

Late at night, on the fourth floor of the Library Tower.

Tang Qi exhaled a breath of turbid air, setting down a book with a long title, called “Luo Ximit’s Twenty-Eight Divine Challenges”, and rubbed his brow.

The book’s content was about overcoming gods, depicting the story of a human hero nad Luo Ximit from the early Dark Era, who, after passing twenty-eight challenges, successfully obtained imnse power and killed a chaotic camp Evil God.

In the real world, there are similar legends, but clearly not as detailed as the records in the books of the Mysterious Side.

The story itself couldn’t escape the usual format of myths, but so of the details provided Tang Qi with so inspiration.

“Even gods are not all invincible.”

With this thought rising in his heart, Tang Qi prepared to head to the ditation Room.

He did not plan to perform “Nihility ditation”; rather, he wished to do the regular Molten Furnace ditation. Cheating reading thods also ca at a cost, as a day of intensive reading drained spiritual power about as much as an intense fight.

Yet, the mont he stepped into the ditation Room, a familiar sensation ca from within his chest.

Reaching into his chest, the Holy Eagle Nest Badge was emitting a bright light, and a ssage ca instantly: “An ergency event, all mbers must vote.”

“Sothing big has happened!”

Upon receiving the ssage, Tang Qi’s expression subtly changed, and he instinctively said.

The Holy Eagle Nest Society was not so small organization that could gather anyti; every eting had to have a purpose, besides the regular full mber committee eting.

With the current timing, the sudden gathering of the Eagle’s Nest Association and the need for a full mber vote undoubtedly indicated an extraordinary event.

Without any hesitation, Tang Qi entered the ditation Room and casually retrieved the “Existence Mask” from his Gluttony’s stomach and covered his face. The ghost light imdiately enveloped him, familiar scenes flashed before his eyes.

Quickly, Tang Qi reappeared within that towering, inconceivable circular building in the guise of a “Yellow Squirrel”.

Its exterior was endless darkness, lightning, and a sea of clouds.

As the thunder surged, reflections flickered in Tang Qi’s eyes, and human figures flashed rapidly in those ancient seats.

All mbers were gathering quickly.

This ti there were no “new mbers”; everyone Tang Qi could see was obscured by various Curios and witchcraft.

The mont Tang Qi was seated, his gaze hadn’t even moved towards the high ground, towards that “Tower Top”-like structure, where five fearso seats were occupied by five “Chairn”, when he was already locked by a gaze.

Though the owner of the gaze was restrained enough to try and observe Tang Qi covertly, with Tang Qi’s perception, he noticed her imdiately.

The light flashed through the lens of a single-fra pair of glasses, and Tang Qi saw its source.

There sat a female figure in an area shrouded in a swirl of black mist.

Her seat level was sowhat higher than Tang Qi’s. With his crude understanding, she was probably an “Interdiate Deacon” for a state or a region.

“It’s that persistent lady!”

Tang Qi instantly made the connection and felt sowhat of a headache.

“If I had known earlier, I wouldn’t have chosen to turn into a Yellow Squirrel. Being too cute definitely attracts ladies with special preferences. Next ti, I should try a more unsightly biological form. I heard there’s another cartoon blockbuster coming out soon, starring a yellow duck.”

While thinking, Tang Qi’s eyes turned to the region of the Five-Person Council.

Sohow, all the mbers of the Holy Eagle Nest Society had arrived.

The one in the middle area of the five, apparently the “Rotating Chairman”, his figure covered in a mist of Radiance, leaned slightly forward. His gaze, full of unimaginable power, seed to be watching all mbers of the Eagle’s Nest Association.

Then, a voice — cold and even tinged with a hint of killing intent — resonated in everyone’s ears.

“Divine Eagle’s Blessing!”

“An hour ago, in Bunker City, within the Thorny Monastery, the top disciple of the Confessors, ‘Thorny Sword Saint’ York Sims, chose to betray the Church, injured several Bright Knights, and then entered the ‘Mysterious’ and interrupted the Church’s siege on the Second Rotten Head. He is guilty.”

“I propose that all mbers of the Holy Eagle Nest Society assist the Bright Church in finding and pursuing York Sims.”

“The Church has issued orders, any mbers who provide information or take action can claim their reward from various levels of the Church’s offices.”

“What?”

While pondering whether the “Little Yellow Duck” might be more fitting for his disguise than the Yellow Squirrel, Tang Qi, hearing the voice in his mind, imdiately changed his expression and looked up with shocked eyes towards the towering Tower Top, towards the almost undisguisable figure of Holy Light above.
