Chapter 629: Chapter 558: War in the Mysterious (4000 words!)_2
He had just begun to think when, from the second seat on his left, a deep voice sounded.
“Divine Eagle’s protection!”
“Jiatai City will be holding a new mayoral election, and I believe that one of the candidates, Mr. Bricks, is very suitable to beco the new master of this city.”
The first “proposal,” initiated by the Vice Chairman with an understated tone, described this shocking content, causing Tang Qi’s expression to flicker slightly.
Jiatai City!
This is the second largest city in the Federation, and also the base of the Bright Church in the New Continent. To so extent, its status is no less than that of Holy Eagle Nest City and far surpasses so less prominent states.
Such a major city’s mayoral election is undoubtedly a significant event.
Could it really be decided so arbitrarily?
The “Vice Chairman” did not use a tentative tone; the implied aning of his statent was also very clear.
He hoped that within the Holy Eagle Nest Society, every “mber” capable of exerting influence in that area would make the sa choice.
With those words said, the Vice Chairman spoke no more and didn’t even provide a reasonable explanation.
Soon, amidst the dazzling white brilliance of lightning, figure after figure began to speak.
“Agreed!”
“Seconded!”
“Fine!”
Clearly, every mber who spoke was confident in their corresponding influence.
After dozens of voices, the proposal quickly reached a conclusion.
“Not a single mber opposed; does this an the next mayor of Jiatai City has been decided?”
“This is what they call a py deal, and it’s a collective one at that.”
Had this been any other organization, Tang Qi would undoubtedly have spared no criticisms.
However, this place was the Holy Eagle Nest Society.
Suddenly, Tang Qi recalled those who recomnded he join the society—William O’Neill and John Wesley.
According to the organizational structure, these two should be the Deacons of the Holy Eagle Nest Society for the Secret Phoenix Area.
“Could Mr. O’Neill’s position as the mayor of Secret Phoenix City have co about in the sa way?”
At this mont, Tang Qi felt like he had discerned the truth.
“Since the position of mayor can be decided arbitrarily, doesn’t that an the Federation’s highest throne might be as well?”
As soon as this thought erged, Tang Qi imdiately suppressed it.
It’s unlikely!
In the entire Divine Eagle Federation, there were multiple powerful mysterious organizations aside from the Holy Eagle Nest Society, such as the World Tree, Ancient Mystical Vault, and the Bright Church, all possessing unimaginable influence. Perhaps they could not decide the next president.
But imposing their will was clearly not a difficult task.
Moreover, even within the Holy Eagle Nest Society itself, it was probably not completely unified.
Tang Qi’s speculation was soon confird.
After the Vice Chairman’s proposal ended, it quickly ca to Deacons from different areas.
Opposite Tang Qi, from a higher-ranking seat shrouded in black mist, a sowhat hoarse voice, unhuman-like, ca forth.
“Divine Eagle’s protection!”
“An incident occurred in Loronto City, Kelo State. An ancient contained object ‘HS-002’ in the city’s Black Umbrella Bureau suddenly awakened from its slumber and apparently was affected by ‘mysterious’ radiation, resulting in an explosion at the scene causing pollution affecting thousands in Loronto City.”
“The polluted will beco violently bloodthirsty and gradually transform into flesh-ball shaped ‘monsters’. They are attempting to break through defenses and spread outside Loronto City… On behalf of the Black Umbrella Bureau, I propose that the Federation Military deploy large thermal weapons to purge Loronto City.”
“anwhile, this news must be covered up, otherwise it will cause panic across the Federation.”
This proposal from the Deacon, clearly from Kelo State, caused Tang Qi’s pupils to shrink, especially his handling thods, which made Tang Qi question in bewildernt.
Is the Holy Eagle Nest Society truly an organization leaning towards justice and order?
But just as the Deacon’s voice fell, a voice filled with anger ca through.
“I oppose!”
The source of the voice was exactly in the area of that “Deacon’s” seat, even a level higher.
Although so attempts at concealnt had been made, it was still evident that this was a female voice.
Before the assembly could hear this mber’s reasoning, almost imdiately, several voices ca from different regions.
“I oppose too!”
“I have an objection!”
Following that, several reasons resounded in everyone’s ears.
“According to my knowledge, the ancient contained object ‘HS-002’ did not awaken accidentally, but was awakened by a high-level agent from the Black Umbrella Bureau… The disaster in Loronto City originated from a mistake made by the Black Umbrella Bureau, and the Federation should hold them accountable.”
“In addition, Loronto City has not completely fallen; there are still at least a few hundred people uninfected, and the pollution caused by HS-002 is reversible. I have already invited several scholars, healers, and Secret dicine Masters who specialize in such pollution.”
“I believe the ‘Holy Healer’s Tears’ contained within Eagle’s Nest can reverse this pollution, given the high authority of Holy Healing Tears, we can prioritize the use of its derivative, ‘Tears Spring Water’.”
…
Compared to the proposer, the subsequent objectors and their reasons clearly carried more convincing power.
However, the “Deacon” did not back down.
She simply fell silent until a query was issued from the center-leading “Rotating Chairman.”
“Do we choose to initiate a full-mber vote?”
At this voice, Tang Qi beca interested.
Seeing this, he had so understanding of the standard proceedings of the Holy Eagle Nest Society, which looked formal, but were actually quite lax, resembling a gathering of “big shots” deciding on major issues privately.
And if a vote were to be held, Tang Qi, as a newcor, also had the right to vote.
His choice, of course, went without saying.
Just before the “Deacon” decided, a cold, resolute voice ca from a higher-ranking area, only second to that of the “Five-Person Council.”
“I represent the military; I reject this proposal!”
With this voice, Tang Qi imdiately realized that he would not be able to cast his first vote after entering the Holy Eagle Nest Society.
No reversals were made, the proposing Deacon did not speak further, implicitly accepting the several handling thods of the opponents.
After this “proposal” passed, the following began with other deacons from several regions initiating different topics.
Like the first and second, so were approved, others fell into disputes and were ultimately rejected.
Tang Qi never got to cast his first vote, as the proceedings quickly moved to the lower region.
Indeed, even ordinary mbers had the right to initiate topics.
However, regrettably, as a real “low-profile newcor,” he temporarily did not have this right.
Even if he did, he would probably not use it. As the principal of rada Special Education School, he couldn’t think of a proposal, certainly not one like “the Federation needs to build more special education schools.”
Of course, the topics of ordinary mbers were restricted, with only one opportunity per joint eting and requiring so kind of preliminary review.
Soon, the only ordinary topic of this eting was created.
But the content left Tang Qi with a weird expression, unsure how to react.
A proposal from an ordinary mber:
“I’ve invested in a ‘true docuntary’ directed by a filmmaker from Eagle’s Nest City about various scenes from the Mysterious Side. It can systematically educate all Federation’s citizens about the existence of the Extraordinary World, to increase general acceptance after the Spiritual Tide is fully exposed.”
“I need mbers to promote it, preferably making it the box office champion!”
This proposal appeared, and Tang Qi wasn’t the only one with a peculiar expression.
Nonetheless, the proposal was eventually passed unanimously.
Tang Qi planned to bring the children for a private screening once the film was released, contributing a bit to the box office.
After this proposal that lowered the “Holy Eagle Nest Society’s grace” had passed, the process was about to enter the next phase, exciting Tang Qi with steps like mutual exchanges, Sword Holders recruitnt, and Eagle Scholars initiation.
But just then, suspended above the “Abyss.”
The imposing Five-Person Council, still centralized by the “Rotating Chairman,” his voice suddenly rang out:
“Now, initiating a special motion.”
“The Holy Eagle Nest Society is about to participate in a war located in the ‘Mysterious’, which might face the Rotten Head, Mysterious Deford Show, and other Evil God Organization… mbers willing to join, please register with the respected Sword Holder imdiately.”
As his words fell, Tang Qi instantly saw that besides himself, a strong surge of energy was evident among many mbers reflected in his eyes.
