Chapter 581: 529
“You an to say, rlin didn’t die but instead willingly leaped into the Doomsday Volcano… and fell on the very first night?”
The last sentence spoken by Amanda obviously caught Tang Qi by surprise.
He had guessed rlin’s ultimate fate, which could not escape death or corruption, but he didn’t expect rlin’s way of falling would be so strange.
Yes, that’s right. Strange.
According to Amanda’s description, rlin was the most powerful Wizard among all uncorrupted beings, a master of Transformation Technique and Prophetic Technique. He could even traverse the Forest of Ignorance and the Dark Plain, while powerful entities like the Mad Fairy couldn’t even pass through the Living Corpses.
This could prove rlin’s strength from another aspect. Although the world’s rules are different, if converted, rlin would at least be considered equivalent to a “Legendary Level” Wizard in the Mysterious Side.
Would such a powerful being choose to end himself and willingly fall into darkness when there was no hope left?
Almost imdiately, new speculations arose in Tang Qi’s mind, all without evidence, but his intuition was always inexplicably accurate.
However, he quickly shook his head.
He suppressed these thoughts for the ti being. To verify these speculations, the precondition was to first et rlin, even if it was the fallen “rlin”.
“The current problem is, how to get through the Dark Plain?”
If the opponent was sothing like the “Obscure Corpse,” Tang Qi would choose to charge straight through.
But evidently, that so-called “Desire Manifestation” creature was different from all the Abnormalities he had faced before.
However, avoidance wasn’t a solution either.
Tang Qi no longer concerned himself with topics related to rlin but instead looked at Amanda and seriously asked, “Tell everything you know about the monsters inside the Dark Plain, including the information about the Eating Deer.”
At this mont, Amanda indeed held an extraordinary trust in Tang Qi.
Without any hesitation, she started speaking directly, spilling out all she knew about the “Abnormalities,” which weren’t as nurous as he’d imagined. So Abnormalities, Amanda only knew by na.
Of course, it at least allowed Tang Qi to gain a certain understanding of that cold, silent plain.
The black ash, scorching winds, and dust finally settled again as the “Forest of Ignorance,” burned by the fire, was slowly regaining its original form.
The “Alien Object” that appeared because of Tang Qi was being devoured by Nihility.
Only in his perception, although the forest was recovering, the Living Corpses did not appear.
“It seems that restoring the Living Corpses costs It so ti.”
With a fleeting thought on the scenery before his eyes, Tang Qi’s attention quickly returned to the plain outside the forest.
Amanda remained in his arms.
The two exchanged a glance, and Tang Qi calmly said, “Are you ready?”
A hint of worry appeared in the girl’s eyes, but she was quite different from the young girls who had never experienced much hardship in the real world, especially knowing when to do what.
Amanda nodded, then slowly closed her eyes under Tang Qi’s gaze.
At this mont, Tang Qi stepped on a dry branch, breaking it. His figure leapt up, flickering, and once again appeared at the edge of the Forest of Ignorance.
As he landed, Tang Qi’s eyes surged with Molten Magic.
Judgent!
The grand and burning projection of the Sun appeared within his pupils.
For the first ti, he was activating this Skill, not to attack, but for Defense.
“According to rlin’s words, as long as one doesn’t formally step into the Dark Plain but just stands at the boundary between the Forest of Ignorance and the Plain, even when facing those peculiar Desire Manifestations, there’s a certain chance one won’t be confused… With Judgent on top of that, perhaps I’ll have enough coverage to conduct preliminary reconnaissance.”
“As for the risk involved, in the Mysterious Side, there is no such thing as a zero-risk event.”
With that thought, other than the Sun projection, Tang Qi’s eyes reflected a silent, gray, lifeless plain, filled with thin fog and an indescribable lack of light—an Endless plain.
Not long before, the Eating Deer that alard Amanda had vanished.
Tang Qi wasn’t surprised; there were nurous “Desire Manifestations” on the plain, and they wouldn’t always stay in one place, but instead wandered everywhere.
He had talked with Amanda for quite so ti; it was only natural that the Eating Deer would be gone.
But at this ti, Tang Qi didn’t dispel the signs of “Judgent.”
He kept maintaining it, waiting for the next “Manifestation” to appear, according to rlin’s information, it wouldn’t be too long.
Any hint of life was an irresistible Bait for a Desire Manifestation.
If there was one nearby, it would certainly co over.
And, according to the rules within the Dark Plain, once a Manifestation sets its sights on its Prey, the others would stop and wait.
As ti began to trickle by, just as Tang Qi could clearly feel the depletion of Magic Power within him,
suddenly, his eyes forcefully widened, the Light Flas growing more turbulent.
Ahead, still that dead old tree, an even more Abnormal silhouette erged from within the thin fog, stirring the light, flying towards Tang Qi and Amanda’s direction.
A flying Abnormality?
The thought had just arisen in Tang Qi’s mind.
The next second, he saw the fog parting, revealing a creature that looked similar to a bat, but with all sorts of sinister and Horrific details.
Its body was almost indistinguishable from that of a “Human,” with limbs, a skull, and a torso, save for the mbrane wings that stretched between the underside of its arms and ribs, where gaps tore open to vaguely form twisted human faces, as if they were screaming.
The creature’s thighs were bright red, devoid of skin, lined with “smiling” mouths that had no teeth and were closely packed together.
On its chest, two lumps of rotten flesh were oozing an indeterminate fluid into the air.
Its head too was covered with a “mask,” exaggerated and twisted, like a clown shrieking with maniacal laughter.
When it erged from the mist and landed on a lifeless tree.
Behind it, a “tail” covered in black hair and writhing word upwards, its tip flipping to reveal a black and crimson eye within the fold of skin.
A new “confrontation” was about to take place.
But at that mont, Tang Qi suddenly smiled, his eyes snapping shut, and his body leapt backward, returning to the Forest of Ignorance much like when he faced the “Eating Deer.”
As he landed, Amanda sensed the movent and reopened her eyes.
“It’s the Sharp-laughing Bat!”
Seeing the confusion in Amanda’s eyes, Tang Qi imdiately clarified.
He had already learned about so of the “Desire Manifestations” lurking in the plain from the young girl’s words. Comparing them to the scene he just witnessed, he quickly identified the na of the monster even stranger than the “Eating Deer.”
In the rlin Catalog, the Sharp-laughing Bat was indeed more terrifying than the Eating Deer.
True, while countless “Desires” road the plains.
These monsters too were categorized by strength and weakness; however, relative to the Mysterious Side, the distinction was not so rigid.
The basis for rlin to differentiate their danger, besides his own perception, also ca from observations he made while crossing the plain—for instance, when the Sharp-laughing Bat flew by, the Eating Deer, which usually held its head high, would bow down.
With this knowledge, Tang Qi quickly developed a straightforward and brutal plan.
He didn’t want to rely on rlin’s information to get through the plain; he preferred to depend on the Information Fragnts captured by his “Special Ability.”
This ant he needed to look directly at the monsters for an adequate length of ti.
One second, two seconds, or perhaps even longer.
But this duration was also enough for the monsters to “confront” Tang Qi, and by that ti, they would probably have already launched an attack while he was capturing Information Fragnts.
Although Tang Qi did not believe these Desire Manifestations had the power to crush “Judgent” and defeat him—one must rember it would take crushing a fragnt of the Master of the Crucible’s projection, diluted by who knows how many billion tis—but the thigh is still the thigh.
Nevertheless, to avoid any mishap, Tang Qi decided to pick a softer target.
He would use himself as Bait, waiting for the most vulnerable of the Desire Manifestations recorded in the “rlin Catalog” to appear.
Tang Qi continued to feed Amanda the Secret dicine, and calmly stated, “Let’s wait another half hour!”
Half an hour later, Tang Qi teleported again.
After lingering at the border for about a dozen seconds, his eyes once again shut before confronting another newly appeared “Manifestation,” returning to the forest.
As soon as Amanda opened her eyes, she heard Tang Qi say:
“This ti, it’s the Corrosive Love Fish.”
Another half hour passed, and a figure flashed back to the forest.
Amanda, stubbornly insisting on joining Tang Qi’s adventure, opened her eyes to see Tang Qi’s mouth curve into a bitter smile: “Hmm, it seems our luck is still not great, this ti it’s the Frenzy Pig.”
…
In the deadly silent forest, Tang Qi set out once more.
By now in his perception, the Molten Magic that was once abundant was nearly depleted.
He could undertake one more “Bait” operation, after which, successful or not, he must return to the forest to ditate and recover.
He had co here in search of another path, in an effort to rid himself of the reliance on the “lter Wizard” lineage.
Before this, he had been extrely dependent on the power of the lter Wizards.
In a blink, Tang Qi was once again standing on the border between the Forest of Ignorance and the Dark Plain, holding Amanda. The “Manifestation” previously lured out, nad the “Eyeless Snake,” had indeed disappeared. After several Bait operations, he had ascertained the “limit of tolerance” for these Manifestations.
The “Judgent” was executed flawlessly.
Just when Tang Qi thought he would have to wait another dozen seconds.
A strange on surfaced, and he abruptly turned his head to another direction.
A shadow silently erged from the thin mist.
This ti, it didn’t choose the dead tree area.
It seed like an even more deceitful Monster, as if it had observed Tang Qi and wanted to attempt a “sneak attack” from the side.
But it didn’t seem to realize that, compared to the other Manifestations, its body was outrageously large.
As that enormous body silently broke through the fog and ca into Tang Qi’s view.
For the first ti, Tang Qi didn’t retreat.
Although alarms were blaring in his mind.
At this mont, however, Tang Qi swiftly turned around, faced the monster without closing his eyes, and instead of returning to the Forest of Ignorance.
He let the Molten Magic in his eyes burn wildly, projecting an unprecedented reality, his gaze completely focused and utterly disregarding that this was an extrely dangerous and mad “confrontation”.
