Bang! Bang! Bang!
Heavy footsteps echoed continuously, as the four of them looked ahead with terrified gazes at the horrific scene before them—a total of several dozen Candle n, all dressed in modern attire similar to theirs, including white-collar workers, travelers, and farrs.
Their heads were ablaze, and wax dripped off them, slick and slimy, gathering together. They started with a jog, but with the rag doll’s agonizing screams, they rioted.
The lively leaps and shadows painted a scene reminiscent of an army of thousands.
The four suddenly felt an impetuous heat surging within them, their skin becoming greasy and tender, and at the top of their heads, a burning sensation was being released.
"Am I going to start burning too?"
This thought erged in their minds simultaneously, as they rembered their teacher, Martha.
This freshly turned "Candle Man" was joining the ranks at a slow pace.
Tang Qi, while continuing to fire Molten Furnace Bullets at the durable but battered rag doll, glanced at the four, whose heads indeed began to smoke.
But compared to "Martha," the problem didn’t seem as grave.
Bang!
The last Molten Furnace Bullet completely obliterated the "rag doll" into a pile of fragnts, but these already pitch-black pieces of flesh were still wriggling, attempting to regenerate. Yet, the Molten Magic imbued in the bullets slowed down her recovery trendously and also caused her to emit waves of invisible pain.
Intense, unrestrained ghost light surged out powerfully.
[Extraordinary Creature: Resentful Ghost.]
[State: Lightly Injured.]
[Information Fragnt One: A special Ghost whose ’Source’ was polluted, resulting in her contamination as well, her strong obsession bestowed upon her terrifying Extraordinary Power, making her nearly impossible to kill; even if she could be temporarily put down, she would be resurrected by the Source after so ti.]
[Information Fragnt Two: How to temporarily kill her...]
"Roar~ Roar Roar"
As Tang Qi was about to continue reading, at that mont, deep and terrifying roars, along with leaping shadows, enveloped him.
He slightly turned his head to see a number of "Candle n" in a frenzy.
With their heads ablaze and wax dribbling down their bodies, a greasy and horrifying presence flooded towards him. They spread their arms wide, opened their mouths, seeming to want to embrace Tang Qi and perish together.
Bursts of identical Information Fragnts exploded in Tang Qi’s eyes.
[Extraordinary Creature: Burning Candle Man.]
[State: Continuously Burning.]
[Information Fragnt One: Humans transford into candle bodies by so form of Extraordinary Power, their souls, flesh, and even thoughts to be used as fuel and burnt away; during this process, they remain alive and can feel the agony of burning.]
[Information Fragnt Two: They are the servants of that Extraordinary Power Source, driven by it.]
...
As the Information Fragnts flashed through his mind, Tang Qi’s killing intent surged even more.
This entity, appearing as a "tattered rag doll," carried out thods that chilled one to the core.
rely burning people to death was not the tragedy.
The horror laid in the fact that during the process, these humans remained alive and still subject to its commands.
"Be freed!"
As Tang Qi spoke indifferently, a rope ford purely of Molten Magic suddenly flew out of him, as if alive, quickly binding all the oncoming "Candle n" tightly, and golden Light Flas imdiately erupted.
The Candle n, who were only burning slowly before, were now subrged in flas.
Golden Light Flas, in a flash, reduced them to ashes.
And at this mont, Tang Qi’s gaze once again turned to the front.
The head of the "Resentful Ghost," which was rough and ugly yet sohow elicited infinite pity, had reford.
She gave Tang Qi and the four others a twisted smile.
Below her head, clusters of fresh, red flesh erged, wriggling tendrils, as she moved, attempting to return into the darkness filled with bizarre and varied scenes.
Tang Qi saw in her eyes, amidst the squirming rotten flesh, stark white candles were embedded. Comparing this with the second Information Fragnt that flashed through his mind, he casually conjured a red Fireball and threw it at her.
Bang!
The Fla Spell imbued with Magic Power left a scorch mark on her body but only elicited a cry of pain from her; her state of light injury remained unchanged.
The Resentful Ghost still wore her eerie smile as she moved deeper into the darkness.
Tang Qi threw the rope, trying to pull her back, but suddenly felt an imnse force.
A special vision within his eyes.
Out of nowhere, behind the tattered rag doll, vast amounts of Nihility and changing "Abnormalities" entwined around her, trying to drag her into the profound darkness.
That non-physical force nearly ignored Tang Qi’s Monster Power Technique.
Had he not promptly infused Molten Magic, the Resentful Ghost might have already escaped.
Just then, the Resentful Ghost finally spoke.
That was a voice mixed with innocence, entreaty, and terror, ringing out clearly:
"Wizard, you cannot kill ; you cannot kill any of the creatures here... except for humans."
"Do you want to join us, beco one of us, a part of the great ’Source’?"
Tang Qi, who was in thought, suddenly had an idea.
His gaze abruptly fell on "Martha," who was still struggling. This middle-aged woman was still alive, and her soul was still in a state of freedom.
A flash of inspiration crossed his mind, and Tang Qi casually asked, "The Source, what is that?"
"The Source, is Him, the great, the holy, the Supre Divinity... Despicable wizard, what are you going to do?"
The little girl, who was speaking, suddenly seed to sense sothing and scread sharply.
At the sa ti, her body retreated into the dark at an even faster pace.
Tang Qi, seeing this, felt no regret. Based on the analysis of the information he had, there were more samples and captives to be captured than just the one before him.
He looked up at Martha and quickly said:
"Borrow a fire!"
As the words fell, a streak of flas suddenly separated from above Martha’s head and, under the control of Tang Qi’s "Fla Spell," instantly bridged the distance and landed on the half of the Resentful Ghost already subrged in the darkness.
Her head and rotting flesh could not burn, but the candles sticking out of her body were excellent kindling.
Pfft!
The "Candles," which could not be ignited by the Fla Spell or Molten Magic, burst into an extrely brilliant radiance upon contact with the fla above Martha’s head.
In an instant, the rotting flesh in the candle’s area turned pitch black, hardened, and with a "crack," fell and scattered into ashes.
Then, one by one, the pale candles were igniting in procession.
The intense, bright light illuminated the area as if it were daylight, and in a scene like Heaven, the Resentful Ghost began to scream in agony. She was turning into a hardening, shattering pool of rotting flesh, and amidst the light that had sohow beco sacred, a childish laughter, filled with innocence, erged, growing fainter and fainter, slowly rging into the gradually extinguishing candlelight.
In this abnormal scene, the other four had no ti to watch.
Because as the candles completely extinguished, the fla atop Martha’s head also went out imdiately, her eyes closed, and she fainted.
Her soul and life force were sowhat depleted, but she survived.
"The Information Fragnt indicated that igniting the candles on the Resentful Ghost’s body could temporarily kill her, but the Fla Spell, and even my Molten Magic, could not do it. Only the flas released from her own body could kill her."
"A skill both fragile and cunning. To kill her, one needs to attain the Candle Man’s fire, but once becoming a Candle Man, one would be controlled by her... And even if soone clever thought of it, it would be difficult to light all the candles on her body, as she would attack and resist."
"Um, except for ."
As Tang Qi’s thoughts moved, he walked up to the group.
They were already here when he arrived, and they looked, just like him, to be people from the real world.
If nothing else, they should know more than he did.
The young n and won, despite being older than Tang Qi, having witnessed what had just happened, naturally did not dare to keep any secrets from a wizard and quickly shared their situation.
"You are a graduation trip group, who wandered in by mistake because a student bought an old painting at a flea market, showed it to you, and it contained dream-like contents. The result was a burst of strong light that sucked you all in."
"The first place you ca to was at the foot of a mountain, with three huge houses in the middle, where you were imdiately discovered by the monsters, giant creatures that lived there. After most were killed, with the help of a Silver Wolf, you escaped into Mirage Street."
Tang Qi rapidly sumd up the experience of these five people, simultaneously recalling so information relayed by Lia.
His expression grew even more abnormal.
"Lia and Charlotte, at the base of that strange mountain, we encountered several warm pink pigs and a beautiful Silver Wolf. They got along very harmoniously and prepared delicious, inconceivable food for us."
"After saying goodbye to the pigs and the giant wolf, we entered a dream-like street where the residents invited us to enjoy delicious roasted duck, changed us into nice clothes, and a very cute little girl gave and Charlotte a candle, telling us that those candles held magical power... As it turned out, the little girl was right."
...
"Ralph described Charlotte as a girl like a flower, like sunshine, when I t her... that can be explained as changes caused by the double devastation of ti and jerks, but now, the ferocious demons, and the Candle Man’s abnormality on the dream street, this differential treatnt really is excessive."
Tang Qi ntally compared it, his and Ralph’s different encounters upon entering this "Mysterious World," and couldn’t help but make a sarcastic remark.
Ralph encountered a fantasy-like, exciting and beautiful adventure.
He, on the other hand, seed to have stumbled into an abyss filled with horror and shock.
Just as Tang Qi was pondering, the four people caring for Martha, after one of the n with glasses shouted in alarm, all looked around.
Sohow, the cobblestone floor beneath their feet, the luxurious shops on both sides, the towering buildings and the illusionary Neon lights, the entire "Mirage Street" had disappeared, and not far from them, a ghost light shone down, projecting a portal that was slowly rotating.
All four looked at Tang Qi at the sa ti.
In their hearts, they harbored hopeful and eager speculation, but they still needed the approval and agreent of this "wizard."
At this mont, Tang Qi also shifted his gaze away from that portal.
In his heart, he already had so speculations about this bizarre, mysterious place, but still needed verification.
Turning his head, Tang Qi first nodded in the excited look of the four people, and then said:
"This is the portal of departure, but the place it leads to is not where you went missing... I need you to take to the territory of those demons now, and after I kill them, you will return to your original camp."
"I promise!"
