Chapter 542: Chapter 501: Little Black House

Special trio, undertaking the most difficult and dangerous task yet, also boarded a Clarkwo spaceship rushing toward the main district of Secret Phoenix City. It is now night, not far from the last subway departure ti.

Noah, who first demonstrated decision-making abilities, left. Shay, like an elder sister, naturally stepped forward, then looked again at the parchnt that reappeared blank and then shown new information.

Following tasks were all Level 2, perfect for their twelve people, every four forming a group, each taking different tasks.

Level 3 tasks, touching on Professional Level capabilities.

While Level 2 tasks can be completed by those below Professional Level, so students in the Extraordinary Practical Combat Class already possess Professional Level capabilities, especially a few who were once known as “Danger Sources”, but lack the experience of life-and-death struggles.

Thus, the tasks they saw on the first day were all of those moving on the edge of danger.

The tasks include:

“Kidnapped street writer in Paradise District, a less-known, or rather unsuccessful author told his relatives he was going to do closed-door writing, but days later, his relatives found the food delivered was untouched, and after forcibly opening the door, the writer had mysteriously disappeared.”

“After receiving the report, internal mbers of the Paradise District police confird the presence of Extraordinary Creatures’ aura and handed it over to the Ancient Castle Bureau, rada Special Education School, and the Bright Church.”

“Task requirents: Investigate the true cause of the writer’s disappearance and rescue him.”

“Task Level: Level 2.”

“Recomnded number of participants: Four.”

“Task rewards: Reward coins provided by the writer’s family, signed books by the writer, and entry to the school’s collection room to pick low-level Curios.”

“Role-playing club, Main City of Secret Phoenix City, Art Avenue, eleven ‘victims’ have reported, claiming they see an extra house on Art Avenue at night, displaying number ninety-nine, a special role-playing club.”

“Anyone seeing this club’s beings, whether human or otherwise, will be subject to a strong psychological suggestion and choose to enter it. The conclusion is derived from victims confirming that inside the club, they saw a cat trying to act as a tiger, a pig trying to act as an elephant, or a Shar Pei dog wearing lipstick and high heels.”

“The club is not aggressive but does not limit the personal freedom of guests. However, after each role-play, guests will start to transform into their portrayed role slowly, which is why the number of patients admitted for treatnt in ntal hospitals in the main city has rapidly increased recently.”

“Task requirents: Investigate the truth behind the club, and find a way to close or contain it.”

“Task rewards: A reward provided by the Art Avenue Committee, selection of low-level Curios from the school’s collection.”

“Blind old man, Hunter District, Papalas Street and surrounding areas, multiple reports received, an old man blind in eyes wanders at night, randomly entering different houses. If there are no children in the house, the old man will ask for a cup of milk and so cookies, and after consuming them, he will leave.”

“If there are children in the intruded ho, the old man will force open his tightly closed eyes, forcing children to watch inside. It is currently unknown what the children see, but every victim child will fall into depression, the duration unknown.”

“The old man possesses strength far beyond ordinary people and is immune to common physical damage, including shootings, stabbings, or heavy impacts, presumably a form of Abnormality born due to the return of Spiritual Tide.”

“Task requirents: Contain the old man, or if containnt is not possible, or rescuing victim children, consider killing him.”

“Task rewards: Reward coins provided by victim children’s parents, Curios awards offered by the school.”

“It has begun, Tate and his team have located the target.”

Inside the magic mirror, three Clarkwo spaceships are shown departing, Eva suddenly points to an image popping up in the upper left corner.

A ripple spreads, and a clear scenery erges.

In the dirty, chaotic Lower City District, Sheep Bone Street, within a dark alley, a man over two ters tall, covered in mutated at tumors, is approaching a young girl in disheveled clothing with a naive face, resembling a runaway.

The girl watches in horror as the “Demon” approaches, her sparse and greasy hair hanging down, the misty moonlight illuminates as the Demon slowly opens its mouth, revealing thick, disgusting saliva, yellowed large teeth, and so shredded flesh caught between.

Intense disgust and fear seized the girl’s mind.

Until the next mont, a cat’s ow is heard, accompanied by the appearance of a sowhat bloated yet unexpectedly agile orange shadow. It appears quite angry at the scene before it, baring its teeth in an overly cute manner as it lunges at the Demon.

The greeting for the orange cat is a massive slap.

“No!”

The girl, gathering her courage, shouts out loud, naturally unable to stop the impatient slap from the Demon.

But bizarrely, the next mont, the one sent flying back, crashing into a wall, is not the orange cat, but the Demon who swung its paw.

The nimble orange cat landed agilely, its whiskers quivering as it fiercely shook its paw as if feeling it had been tainted, ignoring the demon that charged out of the collapsed area, and rely shouted towards the darkness, “Luka, burn this disgusting creature to death.”

“Boom!”

Mixed with the strong scent of sulfur, the magma flas suddenly illuminated the entire alley as if it were broad daylight, and a naive dark red figure slowly erged. The “Demon Fla,” born of evil yet burning evil, inflicted unimaginable damage on the ogre.

Its pride, a tumor tough enough to withstand bullets, quickly lted in the flas like a lump of fat tossed into a blazing pot.

In his anger, Luka’s Demon Fla was excessively unleashed. The ogre, a poor imitation of “Leckter,” failed to struggle before it gradually fell silent.

Following Tate and Luka, Charlotte also walked out, helping up the stunned girl. She would be taken to the police station where there was an internal staff responsible for erasing her mory.

The reason why Luka and his team could kill the ogre so quickly was simple: Charlotte quickly located it, the powerful Tate attacked by surprise, and Luka’s release of Demon Fla blocked any escape for the ogre.

However, the three young ones showed no signs of confusion, pleasing both Tang Qi and Eva imnsely.

“Unexpectedly smooth, the trio’s synergy is good.”

Tang Qi’s gaze shifted to another grid.

The screen displaying the young girl Lily; she had taken on the sole Level One Task and had succeeded in locating the target, yet the way she completed the task left Tang Qi and Eva both amused and exasperated.

In Ham District, at the McFarlane house.

In a boy’s room, two figures, one big and one small, were incredibly close, engaging in a jaw-dropping conversation.

The young girl Lily and a teddy bear toy.

Both were pointing at each other, spewing out swear words.

During the process, the teddy bear toy displayed an Extraordinary Ability not noted in the records—Telekinesis, though not very strong, which enabled it to move small objects like chairs, lamps, and dinner knives to try and attack Lily, but it was ruthlessly suppressed.

Lily, it seed, had no intention of relying on violence to bring it back; instead, like a gangster girl, she started cursing with the teddy bear.

At the door, the McFarlane family stood dumbfounded. Where were the promised professionals? This scene was far from what they had imagined.

“When she adopts that guy, cursing will be forbidden at school.”

Tang Qi watched the scene, comnting rather irritably.

Eva, hearing this, just nodded.

The Witch School already had an unruly Gluttony, a Venus flytrap that liked to crack dirty jokes; adding a teddy bear that liked to swear would indeed make for a very touching scene.

Skipping past Lily’s screen, Tang Qi looked at the next one.

Noah, Peggy, and the Hannahs had entered the subway area, but the last train had not yet started, so the three had to wait silently.

In contrast, Shay and others, who took on the task after them, had found their target ahead of ti.

In the Magic Mirror, a new scene appeared:

In Paradise District, in the room where the “flopped author” conducted his secluded writing, a girl dressed in a Witch Robe was casting so witchcraft. Her na was “Bella,” and her ability was Spirit Communication. Soon, a ghost capable of detection and communication was summoned by her.

The ghost began its mission, disappearing into Nihility, but as ti swiftly passed, there were still no results.

Just as the children were about to lose patience, suddenly in that room,

a terrifying storm roared out, and the ghost summoned by Bella staggered out as if amidst the sound of shattering glass. On the bookshelf in the room, an environnt resembling a “Secret Realm” appeared.

It was a dark, oppressive little room where a gaunt middle-aged man in pajamas was half-reclining on the bed, in front of him a “typewriter,” and beside him stacks of manuscript papers, alongside a burly, whip-holding fat woman.

She might have originally been watching the “missing” writer, but now she turned her head, her jowly face twitching as she fixed her gaze on the few students who had disrupted her and the writer.

The woman first stuffed a stack of completed manuscript papers into her ample bosom; then, tossing the whip onto the bed, she reached behind herself and pulled out two huge cleavers.

Charging like a wild bull with a “clack-clack-clack” sound; her massive, heavy body burst through the illusion, leaping from the old bookshelf toward the students, her ferocious aura mixed with a strong resentnt swirling out like a storm.

“You’re courting death …”

“Boom!”

Before the fat woman’s cleavers could touch any of the students, with her body still mid-air, a harsh ice storm suddenly filled the room, freezing everything.

Among the four, the temporary leader was Shay.
