Capítulo 1387: Chapter 261: The Ancient God Driven Mad by Believers

“Pass, pass!”

“Sovereign of ‘Dream,’ certified by the great Sea Star, you are the funniest, this footage is worth savoring…”

Tang Qi struggled to maintain a cool expression as he listened to the laughter of the pink sea star.

If it weren’t for the fact that he couldn’t beat the “real master,” Tang Qi would have already rushed over to give the other a good beating.

“Ha”

Quietly spat out the word, he then held onto the curious Cat God and stepped into the Door of Cody that sparkled with pink light.

Behind him, the Quartet followed.

In just one second, the curiosity everyone had for what funny role Tang Qi was playing was replaced by a different kind of shock.

Because the sight before them was a scene even the All Gods would find surprising.

There was no buffer at all, the dense colors and terrifying strange abnormalities directly shocked the mind upon entering their vision.

Is this the seabed?

Or perhaps, a reflection of another world.

The do looked abnormal, with twisted lines and erupting colors converging, leaving no gap or blank space.

The “ground” everyone stood upon was the sa, they were amidst a tight crowd upon arrival.

Blank spaces and gaps were pitifully scarce.

And filling the “space,” were countless strange things that couldn’t possibly be counted.

Including Tang Qi, everyone had a space exclusively for themselves.

The space outside each body was filled with countless objects without any pattern, it could be anything.

Tang Qi opened his eyes and saw before him flowing streams of muddy paint, a building resembling a decayed orange, a puddle of muck, a splendid spider purely made of tal and gemstones, a smiling red-haired woman without any clothes facing him, a stone monunt carved with “Today moonfish executes,” a fishing net full of colorful jellyfish…

No end?

Yes, Tang Qi felt he could keep counting.

The Quartet and Cat God were the sa, but the objects they saw were different from Tang Qi’s.

“How terrifying!”

Among the Quartet, the Secret Alchemist, who always mixed through luck without any taboos, spoke, finally with a trace of fear in his voice.

The other three showed similar expressions, having noticed sothing amiss.

The atmosphere suddenly shifted from humor to horror.

These bizarre things varied in size and color, filling all spaces.

But what’s inexplicable is how they don’t squeeze or affect each other.

It’s as if every object exists in a separate space, not interfering with one another.

This results in a crowded limit, yet it creates a strange effect where “visitors” don’t face obstacles.

But the deadly part is, even the Quartet feels it, this place isn’t safe.

From the mont they arrived, a highly alarming feeling of danger descended upon them without concealnt.

It’s an obvious warning, prior to the official start of the party.

“Don’t move!”

Holding the Cat God, Tang Qi issued a warning.

He stared ahead, quickly realizing that his “All-Knowing” began to fail here.

Countless strange things ford so strong interference, making it impossible for Tang Qi to parse effective information montarily.

He could only rely on his own perception to speculate, as could the Cat God in his arms.

“Is this the ho of the funny sea star?”

“Probably the venue for hosting a ball party.”

“So these odd and terrifying things might be the sea star’s collections, even Supre Divinity feels abnormal… very reasonable.”

“Party rules dictate the sea star hides in so room; to win, find it and get it to leave the room.”

“Then when does the ga start? Is the danger from these objects? Can they move freely after it begins?”

“ow”

While Tang Qi was contemplating, the Cat God abruptly issued a warning.

At the sa mont, atop the do, a gigantic head appeared.

It was a weird gray-green color overall, with a huge rear, a long face, drooping mouth curvature, and a particularly large, thick nose, displaying to all guests an extrely intense “world-weary face.”

Especially Divine’s eyes, showing Divine’s disdain for everything in this world, even including Divine themselves.

Divine was obviously “forced,” always speaking in a reluctant tone.

“The ball is about to begin. Before the clock strikes midnight, you better drag that damn guy out of the damn room, or you all… will die.”

“Boom”

“Ah… ahhh.”

Screams echoed everywhere.

The close ones were the Quartet, as if intimidated by Octopus Head, screaming uncontrollably.

Similar to their situation were probably other players.

In Tang Qi and Cat God’s eyes, Octopus Head was putting on an exaggerated show, pretending to be very scary.

This is the change brought by positional differences; for creatures with too low a position, a single exaggerated intimidation by a high-level Divine can feel like a doomsday disaster.

When Octopus Head manifested a projection, Tang Qi and Cat God instantly made a judgnt about Divine.

And because Divine was at the do, the interference was not strong, All-Knowing tily took effect.

A slightly obscure Information Fragnt exploded in their minds.

[Divine Entity: Ancient God Cleward.]

[State: Normal.]

[Information Fragnt One: This is a mysterious Ancient God whose age can crush all spirits. Divine exists contemporaneously with several Supre Divinities, but Divine’s position is only at the “Powerful God” level, despite having far greater power.]

[Information Fragnt Two: Divine has an official reverent na, but no one cares, not even Divine. Everyone who observes Divine and contacts Divine always calls Divine “Octopus Head,” a rule that has been fixed and cannot be changed.]

[Information Fragnt Three: Divine’s early life went through several different stages. Initially, during the Juvenile phase, Divine was a terrifying, indescribable Divine, and out of curiosity, Divine successively fought with the “Eternal Day Mad King,” “Origin Divine Race,” “funny sea star,” “Mysterious Monarch,” and other Supre Divinities.]

[Information Fragnt Four: All battles ended with Divine’s defeat. Divine was almost beaten by every Supre Divinity, which may be the source of Divine’s hatred for everything.]

[Information Fragnt Five: After the Juvenile phase, Divine experienced a series of tragedies such as “being denied by the father,” “being driven mad by believers,” “being expelled from the Octopus Clan,” “courtship rejection,” “being insulted by the funny sea star’s intelligence”… ]

[Information Fragnt Six: The nurous unbearable tragedies made Divine hate everything, so Divine gave up power and position, and self-imposed seclusion, permanently residing in a building called the [Nonexistent House], which can refuse the visit of all beings, including Supre Divinity.]

[Information Fragnt Seven: Divine was supposed to be an Ancient God that never existed, permanently self-sealed, but unfortunately and luckily, Divine still had a few good friends, though Divine wouldn’t admit it.]

[Information Fragnt Eight: Divine’s friends, especially the “funny sea star,” often harass and force Divine. Superficially, Divine still despises everything but has never refused a single ti so far.]

[Information Fragnt Nine: Divine seems harmless, but that’s just the surface. After all, Divine is an unimaginably ancient God, and the accomplishnt record of “being beaten by all Supre Divinities” has not yet been broken by any life form.]

If there was any effect from Octopus Head’s threats before, now it’s completely gone.

Tang Qi once thought that powerful ancient gods like “Tum” and “Big Octopuses” who enjoyed playing around were already absurd enough.

Now it seems too naïve, not to ntion the yet unseen funny sea star.

Just this Octopus Head has entirely refreshed Tang Qi’s understanding.

When Divine announced the start of the ga and the ball began to change dramatically, Tang Qi still held “Cat God” staring at Octopus Head.

As a god who governs “tragicody,” Tang Qi developed a strong curiosity about the series of tragedies experienced by this Ancient God hanging in the do.

Especially “being driven mad by believers,” Tang Qi even faintly sensed and vaguely saw related fragnt scenes.

Those fragnts all involve sacrifices.

Despite the fact that the beings responsible for the rituals and sacrifices are ancient and significantly different from the common life forms in today’s boundless mystery.

The commonality still exists; sacrifices to an indescribable “Ancient God” must involve cruelty, brutality, abnormality, desires, and so on.

The accompanying actions are terrifyingly appalling to normal humans.

If it were a truly evil “Ancient God,” those actions would actually be very pleasing.

Octopus Head’s father and clan loved those cruel rituals, bizarre and accompanied by filthy, irradiated sacrificial offerings.

However, Octopus Head does not like them.

By nature different from the clan, those cruel rituals are a tornt for Divine.

Yet Divine could not block them or refuse.

“In the ancient primitive epochs, those barbaric races and creatures would forcibly break into [Cleward]’s residence from ti to ti.”

“In front of Divine, they would slaughter each other, offer disgusting things, and engage in group activities… Divine yearned to receive food, gemstones, and artworks as gifts on Divine’s ‘Divine Birthday,’ but every ti received were only mangled corpses, filthy flesh, and so on.”

“Most importantly, Divine liked solitude, craved privacy, but as an ancient, indescribable clan of evil gods, those were unattainable.”

“The tragic tis lasted long, interspersed with other tragedies until Divine was abandoned by the father and clan, expelled, and fled into that [Nonexistent House]… by the ti friends dragged Divine out again, Divine had been a reclusive for a full epoch, with the father, clan, and believers all gone.”

“Divine accepted the friends’ invitation to attend a gathering of ancient gods and beca interested in an ancient female Divine Entity, marking Divine’s transition from the Juvenile phase to the Mature Stage. If successful, Divine might have reproduced a powerful species again.”

“Yet a new tragedy occurred, Divine was rejected.”

“In the initial stage of the Age of Ignorance, Cleward, just stepping out of the house, hid back again before the gathering ended…”
