Chapter 469: Chapter 448 Yucatan Assassin
Tang Qi stared at the extrely fragrant roast at, preparing to step into this Horror Factory Market for a good stroll.
But at that mont, a figure appeared in front of Tang Qi.
“Excuse , are you here to keep an appointnt?”
A female servant in an old-fashioned grey wedding dress suddenly appeared before him, and as she spoke, she opened her palm to reveal a bloodied arrowhead.
“A guide?”
Tang Qi narrowed his eyes instantly; the other party was even more anxious than he expected.
He had only been in the market for a dozen breaths or so.
The rapid appearance of the market’s servant indicated that the other party had employed the servant and had been waiting here the whole ti.
“Um!”
Tang Qi put aside the idea of browsing the market and nodded slightly in response.
Afterward, guided by the “Wedding Ghost” servant, the two walked through the corridor and finally entered a horror house set in a jungle and swamp environnt. Inside one of the private transaction rooms, Tang Qi saw a native.
The familiar tattoos imdiately caught his eye.
This was a dark-skinned youth who seed to be always smiling. His tattoos did not invoke fear but instead conveyed a feeling of simplicity and primitiveness, like a kind-hearted native who would warmly guide tourists without charging a lot of money.
As soon as he saw Tang Qi, he imdiately rose to his feet with a very straightforward smile and reached out a hand, speaking in sowhat awkward Federation General Language: “The prophesied Savior, I represent the Chituga Tribe and welco your arrival.”
“My na is Cardo Kulu, just call
Cardo.”
Tang Qi did not take his hand, crafting an image of himself as a cold and reticent person, and a nod was all the greeting he offered.
At the sa ti, Tang Qi pretended not to sense the malicious aura emanating from this native nad “Cardo,” who possessed extraordinary abilities.
As he took a seat, his gaze seed to solidify unintentionally on the other individual.
When the ghost light swept together and an exceptional image exploded in his mind, Tang Qi’s pupils constricted slightly, and his calm expression almost changed.
[Extraordinary Creatures: Evil Spirit Polluter.]
[State: Already infiltrated the soul.]
[Information Fragnt One: A low-realm wizard contaminated and transford by an ancient evil spirit, he has gained so bizarre powers on top of his original extraordinary abilities.]
[Information Fragnt Two: His soul is transforming into an unknown evil creature, a process that is irreversible.]
[Information Fragnt Three: The transford evil soul makes for a decent fuel.]
…
“Evil Spirit!”
Tang Qi suppressed the impulse to attack, striving to act as a cold, wandering alchemist.
After eting Pilu, Tang Qi guessed that sothing strange must have happened to the Chituga Tribe, and that he was lured here by the “rubber fruit,” which was related.
He just hadn’t expected that Cardo, the native sent by the Chituga Tribe to receive him, had his soul already polluted by an evil spirit.
This so-called “pollution” was different from thods like parasitism.
It fundantally twisted a person from the depths of their soul.
Along with the information that “this process is irreversible,” it was clear that the native was beyond salvation.
“If the greeter is in such a state, what about the others in the tribe? What about the old wizard?”
An ominous guess erged uncontrollably.
anwhile, Cardo, seemingly indifferent to Tang Qi’s cold deanor, rubbed his hands together and sat down, still appearing straightforward and trustworthy.
“Savior, since you’ve co, you must have agreed to the trade with Lord Numba, right?”
As he spoke, Cardo leaned forward, his expression eager with hope and adoration in his eyes as he t Tang Qi’s gaze. It was as though Tang Qi really was a dazzling savior, and the Chituga Tribe in dire straits needed his helping hand to avoid destruction.
Any slightly kind-hearted person would find it hard to say no.
That old wizard was indeed Numba, and… what an excellent performance. If he tried his luck in Holy Eagle Nest City, perhaps he could be even more successful than the lady nad Gisele, for talented actors are always welco there.
Facing Cardo’s gaze, Tang Qi collected his thoughts, pondered for a mont, and declared in an undisputed tone: “Whether I will help you depends on seeing the sea monster first. Before that, I expect you to increase the reward.”
“One rubber fruit is not enough; you must give
ten rubber fruits, and… a living, demonized rubber tree.”
Tang Qi did not hesitate, stating conditions ten tis greater than before.
Cardo was startled for a mont and said with difficulty: “I can propose to increase the number of rubber fruits to Lord Numba. But as you must know, demonized rubber trees can’t survive outside the Yamada Jungle; they can’t be planted and kept alive in the outside world.”
Normally, one would expect outrage at such a sudden tenfold increase in demands.
But Cardo only hesitated for a mont before he almost agreed outright. Did that old wizard give him trendous authority? To bring back this inheritor of the Original Secret dicine School no matter what?
Amidst his contemplations, Tang Qi coldly replied: “That’s my business!”
“Well then, alright, we can set off now. We were just waiting for you, and now all the saviors have arrived.”
Cardo readily agreed, and the words he spoke cast a deeper shadow over Tang Qi’s eyes.
It seems no matter what conditions I set, he’ll agree to them, as long as he can take
to the Chituaga Tribe. It looks like there’s so truth to that prophecy, and I’m not the only Transcendent invited… Those inheritors scattered because of the disaster? I represent the Original Secret dicine School, but who are the others?
The mont he interacted with Cardo, Tang Qi also lost the desire to wander around the market.
Curious, he left the “Erebos” market with Cardo.
Unexpectedly, Cardo then took Tang Qi onto a helicopter.
Even though it was a rented aircraft, the native youth’s perfect integration into the life of a major city like Sweet Water City still surprised Tang Qi.
The Chituaga people he had t so far, setting aside the Numba Old Wizard for now, Pilu and Cardo, if one were to disregard their appearance and accent, their behavior was indistinguishable from that of the urban population; they have the capacity to thrive in Sweet Water City.
It seems now that they are clearly conducting a plan.
The helicopter did not fly directly toward the Yamada Jungle; that was too far. It circled around and headed for a small tropical island located between the jungle and Sweet Water City.
Before long, taking the opportunity from the air, Tang Qi saw nearly twenty people waiting on the island’s shore.
Among them, similar to Cardo, there were a total of twelve Chituaga people, three who, like Cardo, appeared to blend into Sweet Water City, gradually assimilating natives, and the remaining nine, wearing very little clothing, their skin even darker, carrying bows and arrows, holding long knives, or wielding spears. Though their bodies were lean, they emitted a primitive and fierce aura.
Seven Transcendents, five n and two won, were surrounded by them.
Tang Qi’s gaze swept over the twelve Chituaga people first.
As expected, the sa Information Fragnts flowed past.
“Extraordinary Creatures: Evil Spirit Polluters…”
“Is the entire tribe polluted?”
While Tang Qi was receiving the Information Fragnts, he also had to suppress the craving from the Molten Magic within him. He had hunted Resentful Demons and Evil Seeds, those types of Extraordinary Creatures before, and their souls were considered succulent fuel, but those previous tis, they were formidable individuals.
The Chituaga Tribe, however, clearly wasn’t.
“Every Chituaga has been polluted; they may look no different from humans on the outside, but the essence of their souls has been twisted, transford into a kind similar to Resentful Demons or Evil Seeds, now forming a vast group. Above them must be an even more powerful Evil Spirit… I can’t reveal my guise as a Wandering Alchemist just yet, let’s see what they ultimately want to do and then decide how extensively the table needs to be overturned.”
As Tang Qi pondered, the helicopter descended with a “whoosh” sound.
Stepping lightly off the aircraft, Tang Qi saw the silhouettes of those seven Transcendents.
Judging by the intensity of the ghost light that emanated from them, he first looked at the man and woman standing at the forefront and the back.
“Professional Level?”
What slightly surprised Tang Qi was a bald man with a facial expression so cold it seed frost could be scraped off, and a woman dressed as an adventurer with auburn hair.
Two distinct images crystallized one after the other.
[Extraordinary Creatures: Yucatan Assassin.]
[State: Normal.]
[Information Fragnt One: A strong assassin School active in the Dark Age, within the Yamada Jungle and its surrounding areas. Each Yucatan Assassin is proficient in poison, combat, assassination… After advancing to Professional Level, they beco a walking compendium of slaughter.]
[Information Fragnt Two: This is a Professional Level Yucatan Assassin, although he has disguised this fact with special thods.]
…
[Extraordinary Creatures: Lost Female Warrior.]
[State: Normal.]
[Information Fragnt One: A unique and formidable Species who awakens ancestral bloodlines due to the return of the Spiritual Tide. Innately possessing great strength, speed, or other attributes, only the females can inherit the power in their bloodline. The way to inherit it is by starting from the Yamada Jungle and following one’s inner Guidance to undertake the Lost Trial. Every female warrior who returns to the tribe possesses trendous power.]
[Information Fragnt Two: During an adventure, she awakened her bloodline and uncovered more inheritance within her family castle. She has completed the Professional Level Trial.]
[Information Fragnt Three: Similarly, she has, in so way, concealed her Professional Level power.]
…
It wasn’t a surprise to Tang Qi that there were Professional Level Transcendents invited along with him.
As the Spiritual Tide’s return grew more turbulent, it may not be long before Professional Level Transcendents, initially incredibly powerful, beco less scarce.
“This journey might prove to be quite interesting.”
With that silent remark in his mind, Tang Qi thoroughly cloaked the Molten Magic Power within him, imrsing himself entirely in the “persona” of a Wandering Alchemist, looking at the remaining Transcendents with a researcher’s curious gaze.
