Chapter 458: Chapter 437: Spoon and Demon

Secret Phoenix City, Paradise District, Maple Street Community Hospital.

Tang Qi, carrying Gluttony, stepped out from the void.

Just at that mont, with the sound of “Ula Ula”, an ambulance passed by him.

It entered the hospital, the doors of the carriage opened, and doctors in white coats along with the nurses quickly carried a stretcher down, on which lay a patient in a bizarre posture. His entire body seed to be forcibly bent in half, his spine curved backward at a ninety degree angle, already in a state of shock.

Anyone with dical experience could tell that this patient had no chance of survival.

Tang Qi did not follow them into the hospital, but stood dozens of steps away, his gaze concentrated.

A faint ghost light spilled out, forming a special image.

“Extraordinary Creatures: Humans irradiated by so Curios, on the brink of death…”

Information Fragnt exploded, and Tang Qi’s gaze withdrew.

It refocused on the paper before him, where below, a task erged.

“Unknown task: Since August 3rd, every three to ten days, Secret Phoenix City has witnessed a patient with similar causes of death, all of whom were forcibly folded by so force. Post-mortem examination showed that the cause of death was due to extre pressure on the spinal area, the reasons unknown.”

“Latest deceased Rupert Parker, address: Number 7, Floor 5, Block B, 39 Maple Street.”

When the address surfaced, Tang Qi’s figure appeared in a ssy room the next mont.

It was apparent that the ss was caused by dical personnel; the other areas were very tidy, Mr. Parker was a white-collar worker who paid great attention to sanitation.

Tang Qi did not delay and scanned around.

This was a task without a level, and because the number of casualties was not large, the Ancient Castle Bureau had not dispatched any high-level personnel to investigate, while the low-level Transcendents, even after using so probing Curios, failed to find the reason.

However, this ti, in just a few seconds, his gaze suddenly locked on the kitchen area.

Various kitchen tools like knives and spatulas were scattered there, among which was one emitting a familiar ghost light.

“A spoon?”

With a thought, a special image was generated.

[Curio: Evil tool.]

[State: Normal.]

[Information Fragnt One: A normal-looking spoon Curio, under extrely coincidental circumstances, accumulated a malicious curse. When triggered, it exerts imnse force directly on the victim’s spine, just like the most common magic trick… bending the spoon.]

[ Information Fragnt Two: After the curse is triggered, it will transfer unpredictably within a short period of ti, targeting any spoon within a kiloter radius.]

Despite this being a night full of strange and bizarre experiences, Tang Qi still froze for a mont due to the explosion of information in his mind.

“A magician’s malice? Hoping that soday a magician will trigger the curse?”

While muttering, Tang Qi’s figure suddenly appeared before the spoon.

His palm did not touch it imdiately; a torrent of spiritual power surged to form a cage, wrapping directly around the spoon.

A Casting Skill technique that could quickly understand the essence of Curios and materials.

It carried so risks, but Tang Qi didn’t think a curse within a spoon could do anything to him.

Indeed, that turned out to be true. In an instant, he understood the underpinnings of the curse; its source was a prop spoon, which, after being discarded along with other magic tools, gave birth to a curse in a garbage pile, beginning its transfer that night.

Until now, it had caused four severe injuries and three deaths.

Suddenly, a “creak-creak” sound ca, and because of Tang Qi’s spiritual cage, the curse tied to the spoon couldn’t transfer and began to backlash against the Curio itself.

In his mind, Tang Qi quickly made a decision.

He reached out his hand to pick up the spoon. The mont of contact, a surge of imnse force violently tried to invade Tang Qi’s body, but before it reached his spinal area, his arm bulged up, the two imnse forces clashed, and suddenly flas burst forth from Tang Qi’s palm, while torrential spiritual power morphed into a giant hamr.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

After a few hits, the spoon, initially about to shatter, returned to its original form, with both the imnse force and flas dissipating.

A brand-new “Curio” was born in his hand.

“Information Fragnt: The curse has been fixed, cannot transfer, imprinted with a spiritual mark, triggerable at any ti.”

Holding the spoon, Tang Qi without any ntal barriers added it to his collection.

“After my casting, it’s now a quite unique low-level Curio. Any humanoid being below Professional Level who cos in contact with it, will undergo the ordeal of having their spine bent ninety degrees.”

Tang Qi said this, casually adding a piece of information after that unknown task.

Then, he looked towards the upper area of the three task sheets.

Having tried many low-level and unknown tasks, Tang Qi’s gaze finally returned to the high-level tasks above level three.

In the main city district of Secret Phoenix City, in a villa in a wealthy residential area.

A warm, foul sll was spreading from deep within the villa.

It was from a basent where an extrely good-looking blonde young man’s body was undergoing trendous changes; from within, gurgling sounds could be heard, his flesh swelling wildly, light pink fluid splashing, corroding the hard floor upon hitting it.

In the center of the basent, nearly ten gelatinous “big cocoons” hung down, each wrapping around a naked woman.

The man, attractive enough to enchant most young girls, quickly transford into a huge pale pink worm. Black bristles pierced through its skin, and traces of humanity were vaguely visible on its head. Its eyes bulged out and its expanded mouth filled with sharp teeth, releasing an indistinct roar.

In its roar, there was intense confusion in the monster’s eyes.

This human does not seem to be afraid of it?

Since its mutation, this was the first ti. In the past, whether it was won captured for food or for pleasure, each of them would be overwheld by fear upon seeing its “true form.”

However, at this mont, the young human holding a briefcase only showed intense murderous intent and deep disdain in his eyes.

It seed like he saw through its thoughts. He lightly said as he raised his hand, “You should be grateful you look so disgusting, sparing you from unnecessary pain, because I really don’t want to touch you.”

“It, on the other hand, doesn’t mind.”

As Tang Qi spoke, the man-turned-worm instantly turned into a blur of motion, shooting towards Tang Qi.

Sparks flew from the friction of its sharp teeth, intending to swallow Tang Qi whole.

The next mont, the sound of teeth grinding against hard tal rang out. Amidst the scattering sparks, it caught sight of a suddenly horrifying gun, its dreadful muzzle halfway swallowed.

Its eyes crazily contracted as it advanced further for a devouring.

Suddenly, a terrifying force erupted.

“Roar!”

The Evil Dragon’s roar echoed throughout the villa.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Bullets made purely from molten magic power crazily poured into the monster’s body.

Each eruption of magic power burned away a part of its body, followed by agony that seeped into its soul.

This monster, mutated from being contaminated by the blood of an Exotic Realm Demon, shrank rapidly midair.

When Tang Qi ceased pulling the trigger, its enormous body had already vanished without a trace, leaving only a misty phantom ascending, enveloped by a hand gleaming with light flas into the furnace.

Dealing with the demon while also adding another fuel, Tang Qi satisfactorily looked at the “Evil Dragon Roar” in his hand.

This was the third ti he used it tonight. Its power completely overwheld the original “Blood Python No.1.” Although the demon that had just died was not original and just a derivative from contamination, its combat strength had nearly reached Professional Level. If it had been Blood Python No.1, unless equipped with high-level Extraordinary Bullets, it would have been ineffective.

The efficiency of the Evil Dragon Roar was extrely high.

It also spared him the disgust of personally touching those filthy things. Glancing at the won who were still alive, Tang Qi cast a “Fla Spell” to burn away the cocoons while marking with magic power on his mission tablet.

“Level 4 mission, description: Unknown demon appeared in the Main City district, exhibiting signs of cannibalism and capturing won. Based on clues, suspected to be the Otus Demon from the Dark Age that once ravaged the lands. Through Curios Divination, it’s confird to be a derivative organism of the Otus Demon. A request has been filed to dispatch senior personnel within three days to track down the traces and eliminate it.”

As Tang Qi’s fingertip glided over, a question mark ford, and he stepped directly into the quietly opened portal.

On Maple Street, several individuals in special uniforms erging from an apartnt building paused as one of them, a youth in black clothes with a brisk appearance, paused and pressed his ear, then turned to those behind him and said, “Go to the Main City district. That lord has resolved another mission, level four.”

“How many is that now? That lord seems to take both low and high-level missions. Is he short of money?”

“I heard that the lord bought an Extraordinary Plane, Rafael himself has flown it. It was originally crafted by Master Hansel, must be expensive, right?”

As they moved forward, several from the Ancient Castle Bureau whispered among themselves.

The apparently higher-ranked youth glanced back at them, frowned slightly as if pondering, then quietly said, “Before the director established the Ancient Castle Bureau, he also took up many missions issued by the FBI and the Church along with Lord Marshall… That lord, perhaps shares the sa idea.”

“It’s none of our concern, move quickly.”

After being admonished, the individuals all fell silent, but the surprise was visible in their eyes as they exchanged glances.

Due to his actions, confirmation personnel from the three major organizations were simultaneously active, also pondering his motives.

These, of course, were unknown to Tang Qi, and he likely wouldn’t care if he did know.

At that mont, he was standing on the rooftop of an apartnt building in Secret Phoenix City Main City district, under the dim moonlight, observing three mission tablets in his hand.

This ti, he disregarded most of the missions, focusing directly on the top-tier ones.

He had already experienced missions from unknown levels up to level 4.

Next were levels 5 and 6, while level 7, according to the Federation Universal Level, might involve Legendary or even Demigod Level powerful creatures or related Curios, posing great risk even for Tang Qi if taken on alone.

Most critically, such missions were absent from the three tablets.

In fact, there were only a few level 6 missions.

Each was placed at the top, provoking fear at a single glance.

Tang Qi intently looked, seeing nearly ten level 5 missions, and two level 6 ones.

Most originated from the Church and Investigation Bureau, while the Ancient Castle Bureau had issued only one level 5 mission, seemingly an open invitation, planning to launch an extermination against an Evil Camp Extraordinary Race hiding within the Pache Mountain Italy in half a month.

Beside that mission, the rest were similarly high stakes.

“After level 4, the difficulty of levels 5 and 6 drastically increases, unmanageable by non-Professional Level. If schools also issued such missions, it would probably only include…”

“Large-scale cleansing of Green Dragon Ridge Lake? Or dealing with those three sealed level 5 Danger Sources in the Isolation Zone?”

As these thoughts flickered briefly, he then discarded them.

Given the capacity of rada Special Education School, they were temporarily unable to issue such high-level reward missions.
