Chapter 327: Chapter 322 Arrival at the Post (1st Update!)

In the suburbs of Rein City, there lay an airport still bearing the stark military style. In a corner of the waiting hall, a burst of light abruptly surged forth, stretching open a portal from which three young figures erged one by one.

Among the three, a handso young man with curly hair dressed in cowboy style, with his hands empty; another, a scholarly and thin college student wearing black-frad glasses, carrying a bulging cloth bag; and the last one, seemingly a high school student, younger, with delicate features, black hair, and holding an old-fashioned leather suitcase.

Behind them, in a fleeting glance, was the bustling scene of a lively carnival.

The “Pirate Carnival,” as promised, was taking place in Winston Town. Judging by the number of visitors and the liveliness of the scene, the first carnival was undoubtedly a success.

Visitors from all directions, drawn by the pirate culture, flooded into Winston Town, which once had its day of glory as an Earl’s Domain and now seed set to beco one of Secret Phoenix State’s “hot spots” again.

Apart from those from the Extraordinary World, no one knew what had happened in that small town over the past few days.

A “disaster” that could have affected the entire Secret Phoenix State was silently eradicated.

The two parties involved were now appearing in the waiting hall.

This is Lei’en Airport.

Forrly one of the military airports scattered throughout Secret Phoenix State and also one of the three largest airports in the state, it was later handed over to the local governnt for civil aviation use after peace arrived, retaining so elents of military style and atmosphere.

Though flying, as a mode of travel, could not yet compete with trains, long-distance buses, or passenger ships, it was still very popular amongst the wealthy.

Especially if you are in a hurry, airplanes are the best choice.

Regarding the “death rate,” according to scholars, flying is the safest mode of travel.

Most people are skeptical about this claim, but it doesn’t stop them from pursuing this way to flaunt wealth and fashion before any major air disasters occur.

Inside the hall, the crowd was bustling.

Oddly enough, whether they were resting in various places or queuing up to wait for their flights, the staff passing by completely ignored Tang Qi, Jason Raphael, and their companion.

However, as the three of them stepped out of the corner, their “presence” gradually beca noticeable.

Passing through the crowd, the trio slowly beca real as they headed for the VIP room inside the hall.

There were already many people inside, young people and middle-aged gentlen, won and old n, and children, each dressed exquisitely, exuding an air of luxury. In this era, almost everyone waiting in here belonged to the upper class.

Perhaps any one of them stepping out could be a banker, or a tycoon in oil or steel, or even so deeply rooted nobles, and the three even spotted a dazzling female star surrounded by agents and makeup artists.

Facing the door of the VIP room was a huge floor-to-ceiling window.

Tang Qi’s gaze pierced through the window, landing squarely on the vast airfield.

The sight of “iron monsters” caught his attention, and just at this mont, an airplane painted mostly in blue and white began to slowly ascend from the end of the runway, quickly disappearing into the clouds, vanishing in the vast sky above.

At this sight, Tang Qi was montarily struck by an absurd sense of temporal dislocation.

But he quickly snapped back to reality, realizing this was Origin Blue Star, not Earth. The style of those iron monsters was also different from Earth’s, with more rugged and bizarre details, that in his past life, they would be considered just concept airplanes.

“How about that? Now do you believe

that flying’s more fun than taking a train?”

“Moreover, if you need to report for duty in one day, unless you can fly to Secret Phoenix City yourself, you have to take an airplane.”

Tang Qi’s thoughts were drifting when an amused voice ca from beside him.

The second generation of Demon Monster, Jason.

This handso young man, with a strong sense of justice, had a very peculiar expression when he ntioned “reporting for duty,” his eyes filled with teasing and… envy.

Tang Qi glanced at him but ignored him, sitting down by the window with Rafael.

Ignoring him as well, Jason didn’t take offense, apparently accustod to Tang Qi’s way of interacting.

He first grabbed a waiter dressed in a black vest, casually ordering, “Bring over so drinks and snacks, um, the important part is the drinks.”

Then he sat down with poise between Tang Qi and Rafael.

At the ti, both of them were leisurely reading from the reports and books they had taken out of their backpack and leather suitcase.

Jason didn’t look at Rafael’s report because he knew his partner well enough to guess it would be a dry and boring account of their recent venture.

On the other hand, the book Tang Qi was reading sparked his interest.

On the cover, it clearly read “Monster Dissection thod.”

“It seems you have really picked up polymathy, just like Old Coulson.”

After mumbling to himself, Jason quickly beca bored.

The two beside him didn’t care to pay him any mind.

And they had so ti before their flight, so the powerful Demon Hunter soon grew restless, occasionally glancing at Tang Qi with evident curiosity.

Although Tang Qi could have completely ignored him, being stared at by a handso young man of the sa sex didn’t feel very pleasant.

So while flipping through the dissection book, he said indifferently, “Ask whatever you want, but I might not answer you.”

Tang Qi’s tone was not cold. In fact, his relationship with Jason was gradually developing into a friendship.

This was why he realized that this second-generation Demon Monster, with strong abilities and background, was actually quite the joker. If Tang Qi didn’t restrain himself, it was really easy to get amused and exasperated by him. In this respect, Rafael, who had partnered with him for a long ti, had plenty of experience.

And he had consistently ignored that guy from start to finish.

However, when Tang Qi was speaking, those who were observant could notice that a flicker of Rafael’s gaze under his glasses also drifted over.

“The first question, how did you do it that day? I an, how did you make the old hobody Esralda regain her spirits?”

“If it were , if my mom treated my dad that way, used , and sent other Tilos Monsters to their deaths, I’d have ended her and then gone off to die alone.”

“No, you wouldn’t, dying as a joker is more like it.”

Tang Qi glanced at Jason and naturally recalled a scene from not long ago.

All the witches in the rada Witch Group took Esralda as their leader.

To save them, he naturally had to save her first.

Deprived of her Divinity and due to the backlash of the “Profanity Blood Curse,” Esralda was indeed on the brink of death, but with the intervention of the Tree Demon, there was still so hope for her survival. The only issue was that she herself desired death.

Until Tang Qi unleashed the Red and added the “Illusion Spell.”

Fortunately, her heart still pursued the dream of being a comic artist, and the curse that had been tornting the rada family also vanished with the conclusion of the Immortal Earl incident, which gave him an opportunity to act.

Of course, Tang Qi knew that the real life of a bestselling comic artist had genuine fan adoration, being surrounded by male models… that could also be possible.

But at the sa ti, one has to face so harsh realities, such as editors’ pressure for submissions, readers’ criticism, and the worst of all, hair loss due to staying up late to update artworks, which was true for writers as well.

So, Tang Qi left out all these drawbacks.

What he presented to Esralda was an entirely beautiful future.

That’s why at that ti, Jason Rafael, the Church mbers, and others saw that miraculous scene.

Esralda, who had awakened from her coma, was not only completely devoid of any deathly aura, but on the contrary, her cheeks were flushed as if she had experienced sothing indescribable, and a burning determination filled her eyes.

With the leader revived, the rest of the witches were naturally brought back to life as well.

“So that witchcraft is called the Illusion Spell; it sounds fun. How about you cast it on

once? My biggest idol is Mr. Leonardo, and my dream is to live a life like his…”

“I can let you experience his later years!”

Jason was still rambling, but Tang Qi threw out a faint remark.

The Mr. Leonardo he ntioned was a Federation billionaire who had recently passed away—a man who in the first half of his life was the envy of all n in the Federation for not only his handso looks but also his terrifying wealth, a legendary playboy.

Unfortunately, his later years were exceptionally bleak, marked by various illnesses and pains before his death.

“Second question, why didn’t you bring your girlfriend with you on this assignnt?”

Jason’s question made Tang Qi really want to cast a real “Illusion Spell” on him.

From Jason’s eyebrow-twitching movent and the sidelong glance that Rafael stole, it was clear that Jason asked this on purpose.

To the two of them, the scene seed quite interesting.

But Tang Qi knew that what transpired after he awakened Esralda was indeed a “mysterious change” of moderate importance.

One of the few changes during the Immortal Count’s Major Event that went beyond Tang Qi’s control.

When Esralda ca around, Sally, who was in his arms, also regained consciousness, but seed to be in a daze. Then, she took a very bold action.

She… kissed Tang Qi forcefully.

Although Tang Qi dodged quickly, resulting in just a peck at the corner of his mouth, it still caused quite a stir.

To everyone else, it could have been a romantic scene.

Indeed, romance exists even in the Mysterious Side, like the love story between Jason’s father and mother that he often recounted.

However, both Tang Qi and Esralda felt that sothing was not right.

After Sally woke up, so “unknown changes” occurred in her.

Although Tang Qi was certain that the personality governing her body at that mont was indeed Sally, and not the Witch’s alternate personality.

But these subtle changes did not escape the eyes of Tang Qi and the Witch Leader.

The bigger “mysterious change” was the surge of the Doomsday Magic from within Sally.

It seed that due to rada, the Original Magic Power derived from the Exotic Realm Witch of Misfortune began to enter its Mature Stage prematurely. The Magic Pool inside her expanded several tis in size, a mighty magic power that an old witch like rada could control with ease.

However, for Sally, it was different; the magic power neared the brink of going out of control.

This was the reason why Tang Qi headed to his assignnt in Secret Phoenix City without bringing along Sally.
