Chapter 279: Chapter 278 Ghost Family
Tang Qi stood before Sally, who was engrossed in the “Immortal Legend.” He himself pondered for a mont before reaching for the now cold coffee.
But just at this mont, his expression slightly froze.
Without showing any sign of abnormality, he just took the coffee as usual, while his thoughts stirred.
“Hum”
Silently, Tang Qi cast an “Illusion Spell.”
Massive magic power imdiately created a vivid scene, making the two of them appear like normal friends out on a trip.
To anyone looking, they would seem the sa, even to a Professional Level Transcendent.
Then, Tang Qi looked straight out the window.
The Black Mountain Eagle had been running for a while, seemingly entering a dark realm, located atop a mountain. Ahead, a pitch-black, seemingly endless tunnel was vaguely visible.
Such tunnels could often trigger “claustrophobia” in so, but compared to this condition, what was more terrifying would likely be the scene outside the train at this ti.
A stunning scene imdiately ca into his view.
“Boom”
At this mont, Tang Qi recalled facing the Polluter at the Hastu Club, akin to locusts.
Each Polluter could release ghost light, assaulting Tang Qi’s eyes.
And right now, a similar yet even more turbulent scene appeared.
Ghosts!
Rows of horrifying shadows completely surrounded the train.
Their speed far surpassed the train’s, but they showed no signs of overtaking; instead, they twined around it, as nurous terrifying heads drew closer, seemingly searching for sothing?
These ghosts almost had no identical forms.
So were giant Death Gods, wearing tattered hoods and capes, wielding scythes, with eyes that glowed with a cold light.
So were surging black mists, out of which faces occasionally took shape.
Others were like inverted palms, with fingers growing huge, black, and sharp, chasing the train at a terrifying speed.
…
What was eerie was that, after a multitude of ghosts surrounded the train.
Passengers inside the train, whether the rich in first class or the ordinary people in other carriages, none seem to notice anything unusual.
Everyone seed to have fallen into a daze.
Tang Qi adjusted the Fantasy Curse slightly to blend in.
At the sa ti, he imdiately concentrated on looking outside. If Sally were to look up from her comic book at this mont, she would see her beloved “ntor” wearing a look of excited eagerness, as if he had seen a banquet of delicious food.
Almost instantly, a variety of special scenes began to take shape.
[Extraordinary Creatures: Anna’s descendant.]
[State: Ghost Form.]
[Information Fragnt One: They are mbers of the “Immortal Council,” descendants of the Anna Family, with blood flowing in their veins that contains the power of their ancestor “Anna.” Direct mbers of this family can switch freely between human and ghost forms, possessing the transcendent powers of immortality and soul absorption in their ghost form.]
[Information Fragnt Two: Their symbols are a crescent moon and a red bat clutching a scroll engraved with the word “Eternal.”]
…
“New family!”
Tang Qi’s mind imdiately flashed back to the little information left by the Black Goo Man and the information obtained from the “Immortal Legend” comic.
Immortal Council!
This transcendent organization, established in the Dark Age, consists of five families: Harmon, Anna, Ragnar, Vite, and Rudolph.
The founders were directly imbued with the “Divine Blood” of five Ancestors.
If the comics are to be believed, it would an that the most powerful among the Thirteen Ancestors are, in fact, the five Ancestors of the Immortal Council.
Tang Qi had witnessed the power possessed by the Harmon family.
What Tang Qi saw now was the Anna Family.
However, his caution towards the Black Goo Man was different this ti; he felt an extrely strong urge.
That was to appear directly, turn all these “descendants of Anna” into fuel, and cast them into the Self Furnace.
What their human form was like didn’t interest Tang Qi at all; their current “Ghost Form,” however, made him drool with longing.
The lting Furnace Power that suddenly surged within him told him that his premonition was not wrong; their turning into ghosts was indeed a transformation into Ghosts.
Yet, Tang Qi didn’t actually make a move.
With great willpower, he suppressed this impulse.
The reason these “Ghosts” appeared here was easy to conjecture.
The Land of Termination is Winston Town, and every descendant cursed by an Ancestor should know it.
As well as the existence of the “Daughter of Destiny,” they were aware too.
Aside from the Witch Group, the Immortal Council and the other cursed descendants also sought Sally.
The “cover” by the Witch Group had so effect, but the other descendants were not fools.
They naturally knew that by casting a net around the outskirts of the Land of Termination, there was still a chance to catch the Daughter of Destiny, for no matter how the Witch Group arranged it, to lift the curse, the Daughter of Destiny must enter the Land of Termination.
The routes entering Winston Town were not just one.
Presumably, the Anna Family had happened to take control of this train.
Had Tang Qi and Sally chosen another route, they might have encountered other families and the descendants of the other seven Ancestors.
“This ti, let’s endure it. Next ti when we co across them again, we’ll make a move.”
Tang Qi looked ahead at a Ghost head almost within arm’s reach and spoke indifferently.
This was a Ghost with the image of a Death God, clinging close to the window, its pair of cold eyes watching everyone inside the carriage.
Then, it entered.
Almost face-to-face with Tang Qi, its head moved through the window, its huge body turned into smoke, and surged in along with it.
In its Ghost state, physical bodies could not hinder it.
So, it made no effort to evade, passing directly through Tang Qi’s body.
Apart from feeling that this human was a bit “off,” it didn’t notice anything else.
Completely unaware of what it had just done.
It had just brushed past a true “Death God.”
Now, feeling quite content, carrying its scythe, it drifted through the carriage, checking one by one.
Human souls, under its gaze, had all their secrets with nowhere to hide, and if the “Daughter of Destiny” was indeed here, it would surely find her.
The first-class carriage had fewer people than the others.
Soon, it finished its search.
Nothing found!
Disappointnt was clearly reflected in its pair of cold eyes.
Unlike those Abnormal Ghosts, it was a Ghost transford by the Extraordinary Power within its bloodline, possessing both the power and form of a Ghost but also able to display a range of human emotions.
The look it had now probably ant: all these souls are so delicious, just unfortunate that it can’t eat them now.
As for why it couldn’t eat them?
Perhaps it was so agreent with officials.
An Extraordinary Organization like the Immortal Council, with unbroken heritage, could not have survived until now without official approval, and correspondingly, they must pay a price.
With disappointnt, it passed through the carriage doorway and moved to the next carriage.
Completely unaware, a sigh ca from behind it.
Inside, was also filled with a sense of disappointnt.
“Such a pity, can’t eat them now.”
Tang Qi watched the Ghost’s retreating back, expressing his reluctance.
