Chapter 123: Chapter 123 Shortcut
Tang Qi’s foggy silhouette was hidden at the other end of the street, hovering over an abandoned factory building.
This area was known as the Factory Grave, where streetlights and the like were long gone; Tang Qi didn’t need to deliberately conceal himself, and he could actually approach the pitch-dark building if he chose to.
But Tang Qi never took that step, for he had a premonition that as soon as he crossed the boundary, a deep-seated malice would detect his presence.
The situation then might be unpredictable.
However, Tang Qi did not imdiately leave; instead, he stayed outside the limit, simply watching those four Polluters from afar.
Dragging the corpse of a “Cannibal Monster” with hooks and chains, they casually approached the tightly shut doors of the black factory— doors that had been sealed shut but now rippled strangely as the Polluters drew near.
...
The four n just walked right in.
As the corpse neared, the range of the ripples suddenly expanded, effortlessly enveloping it as well.
Buzz!
The Polluters and the corpse disappeared, and the rippling portal instantly returned to normal.
This scene, albeit sowhat unexpected for Tang Qi, did not particularly surprise him.
An Extraordinary Organization entrenched in sser City, associated with “Evil God’s Power,” would naturally have so weird tricks up its sleeve, and possess a horrifying base, or lair.
This Dark Factory may not be the lair of the Hastu Club, but it surely must be an important location.
“Perhaps, it’s related to that so-called Pollution Pool.”
“Unfortunately, the guards here are extrely bizarre; that malice targets Extraordinary beings specifically, with a trendously large range of vigilance.”
“If the Ancient Castle Bureau were to co…”
As soon as this thought arose, Tang Qi dismissed it.
Shaking his head, he silently speculated: “Judging from how Old Coulson and Jason took away the useless items like the failed Evolution Evil God Seed and the na card, they must be aware of the Hastu Club’s existence, maybe due to so reasons, they can’t spare people to handle it right now.”
“Or perhaps, it’s because the Hastu Club hasn’t yet breached the Extraordinary laws?”
“However, with the Spiritual Tide just returned and the official hastily setting up Extraordinary laws, will there really be Extraordinary Forces that adhere to them, or are they simply continuing with the rules that existed when the Mysterious Side was still around?”
Various speculations surfaced in Tang Qi’s mind.
Although he had already confronted nurous anomalies and even decimated a rival family, Tang Qi was still just a novice in the Extraordinary Domain.
“Hmm?”
While contemplating, Tang Qi’s breathing suddenly hitched, and his expression quickly revealed a look of surprise as his gaze swept around.
Centered around the Dark Factory, on various dark streets similar scenes unfolded.
Polluters!
Robust bodies, bald heads, plain white masks without any patterns, and black formal suits… Rows of such figures, in groups of three or four, ca from all directions.
Like the previous quartet, they entered the factory through the rippling portal.
Despite it being deep into the night, the murky moonlight still allowed Tang Qi to see the Polluters’ achievents.
They, without exception, all brought back so sort of abnormal corpses.
Moreover, nearly all were flesh-bearing Monsters.
It seed that entities like Evil Spirits and Ghosts did not fall within their capture range.
The scene before him left Tang Qi in silence.
While unraveling so mysteries, an uncontrollable flood of more speculations arose.
Tang Qi began to understand why, with the intense return of the Spiritual Tide and various abnormalities rapidly resurging or erging,
the awareness of ordinary citizens in sser City remained unusually low, and even officials like Sheriff Stanna only ca into contact with these matters after encountering Tang Qi.
One reason definitely involved these Polluters.
Out of so “conspiratorial plan,” they were covertly, intensively cleansing and capturing the anomalies in sser City, primarily targeting abnormal creatures that possessed substantial flesh.
Obviously, this incidentally helped the residents of sser City. If their efficiency is high enough, perhaps the residents could continue to be “oblivious.”
anwhile, this might be the reason why the Ancient Castle Bureau turns a blind eye to the existence of the Hastu Club.
Although he only t Old Coulson once, he doesn’t seem to be shortsighted and should be aware of the potential danger in nurturing a tiger.
An organization associated with an Evil God would not kindly help citizens clear Abnormalities without a significant hidden agenda behind.
What exactly the Ancient Castle Bureau is planning, could it be that they are waiting to dispose of the helpers once they are done using them?
Guessing stops here.
Tang Qi does not wish to stay ignorant about why the Hastu Club is allowing so many Polluters to capture flesh-related monsters, but unfortunately, there is too little information to speculate from.
The most important thing is, Tang Qi is very self-aware.
He has quite a few trump cards now, but his combat power has not reached the extent he imagined where he could act unchallenged.
These matters between Extraordinary Organizations and the official authorities are not sothing he can interfere with.
“Staying hidden and picking up so free Fuel suits my current identity the best.”
Tang Qi suddenly looked towards the nearest direction, where a team of Polluters also appeared.
A three-person team, dragging a huge two-headed wolfhound.
It seems to have just been slaughtered, still very fresh.
The basis for such a judgnt is that at this mont, a fierce and huge Resentful Soul is rising from the wolfhound’s body.
Whoosh!
In the sky, a palm wrapped in smoke and hiding golden Light Flas suddenly pressed down on the Resentful Soul’s head.
It turned to ash and smoke, all happening in less than a breath’s ti.
And the three Polluters below had no clue.
A misty smoke erged above another abandoned Factory, Tang Qi silently sensed it; that deep malice still existed, just as calm as a still sea, without any movent.
Tang Qi’s actions were always completed outside his perceived danger limit.
At this mont, Tang Qi’s heartbeat quickened a bit.
Not out of nervousness, but out of excitent.
If his corporeal form were visible at this mont, the corners of his mouth would uncontrollably curl into a smile.
This is normal, for he had discovered a “shortcut.”
Golden Furnace ditation!
The only ditation thod Tang Qi was currently focused on. Although it is a form of ditation, the trendous spiritual power he possesses did not co from arduous practice.
Mostly, it was refined by adding Fuel.
This has always been the most effective growth thod of lter ditation, but previously Tang Qi had to set traps himself and indiscriminately kill the newcors to find Fuel.
So far, he had set three traps.
The first one was sowhat perilous, but the last two went smoothly.
However, the bait for the traps was the Curse Mark, which always worried Tang Qi. Was Misfortune sothing an ordinary person could trifle with?
Although his Curse Mark ca from the Witch of Misfortune, this was not a reason to be reassured.
Most importantly, setting traps and waiting for prey is filled with uncertainties.
If Tang Qi were unlucky one ti, attracting a Monster with terrifying combat power, their roles could reverse.
After all, hunting activities carry a not insignificant risk.
But this shortcut before him, for Tang Qi, was extrely safe.
“This is a benefit that only an invisible man can enjoy, I can’t miss it.”
Tang Qi muttered sowhat self-mockingly, resonating in the night breeze.
