Chapter 90 - Ebner in Xio's Instinct

Ebner also knew that his request was a little too much. After all, in mysticism, the blood of a Beyonder was a rather important and critical matter. It was best not to hand it over easily to others, or they wouldn't even know how they died. And sotis, death wasn't the most terrifying outco.

Xio looked at Ebner seriously and didn't reject him directly. Instead, she asked, "What urgent need do you have for my blood?"

Ebner nodded and led her to a small alley by the side of the road. Then, he took out the gold coin from the Solomon Empire era and briefly explained its functions and sealing thods. He only described the Judgnt pathway in the White Eye analysis report as the Arbiter pathway. Finally, he said sincerely, "You are the only Beyonder from the Arbiter pathway among my friends. I can only ask for your help."

Xio frowned, not because of her blood, but because of sothing else. "What did you provoke again? You actually unsealed that gold coin without my return..."

After a month of traveling together, she understood Ebner's character very well. She knew that if he hadn't encountered trouble, he wouldn't have been in such a hurry to use the effects of "luck."

Although Ebner was sowhat surprised by Xio's keen senses, he still replied with a wry smile, "Heh, I did encounter so trouble... It's not very convenient here. I'll tell you when we reach a safe place." He didn't plan on hiding it from Xio. After all, it was sothing the two of them had in common to deal with the Demoness in the future.

Of course, he would definitely temporarily hide the parts that involved unknown corruption and Earth Mother.

"Actually, it's about the sa for ... My luck is equally terrible. The things I encounter might be even more dangerous than the ones you encounter..." Xio sighed as she looked at Ebner with a look of understanding... Yes, it was like they were brothers in distress.

Ebner recalled Xio's abnormality when she suddenly advanced to Sequence 8, and he didn't know what to say. All he could think was: Was Xio's bad luck infecting him? Or was Xio so unlucky because of his appearance...

On the other hand, after figuring out Ebner's intentions, Xio didn't hesitate to use the dagger she carried with her to cut her finger and drip a drop of blood onto the frontal portrait of the Solomon gold coin.

Ebner was very touched when he saw this because he knew that Xio had given him her blood so easily. She had truly treated him as a friend who could entrust her life to him!

...

North Borough, Converton Street, Fors's latest rented apartnt.

Xio found her keys in a hidden corner of the garden. Then, as soon as she opened the door, she saw her friend curled up on the sofa in her pajamas.

While heaving a sigh of relief, she couldn't help but feel vexed. She felt that Fors had beco even lazier after not returning for a month.

Upon hearing the door open, Fors imdiately jumped off the sofa. Looking at her friend's puffed up cheeks, she hurriedly explained, "I originally wanted to pick you up, but Chelly bumped into

on the way and dirtied my clothes. That's why I had to go ho first."

"Chelly?" Xio asked warily when she heard this familiar na.

"It's the passerby girl who bumped into ," Fors replied nonchalantly.

Xio nodded thoughtfully and didn't probe further.

Seeing that her friend's expression had finally eased, Fors hurriedly pulled her back and asked her about her traveling experience. She had already tolerated it for a long ti. She didn't even ask during her al with Ebner a few days ago. All she did was wait for Xio to co back and tell her.

After so thought, she slowly recounted so of the experiences that she had discussed with Ebner and didn't involve any secrets. Fors listened with relish.

At the end of her speech, Xio ntioned that she had given Ebner a drop of her blood to seal a Sealed Artifact. Only then did Fors stand up in shock and anxiously say,

"The blood of Beyonders is a dium for many curses and similar spells... You gave it to him just like that? Aren't you afraid that he will harm you?"

It wasn't that Fors had a bad impression of Ebner, but she felt that her friend's actions were too rash.

"I trust Ebner. He won't do that!" Xio shook her head, disapproving of Fors's worries.

After all, in her eyes, Ebner "knew" a lot of things. If he told her anything, it would probably lead to a disaster. There was no need to make an issue out of re blood.

"Emperor Roselle once said, 'The person you think is familiar might not be as familiar as you imagine'... How can you be sure of Ebner's true thoughts? No matter how you look at it, he's a person with heavy thoughts." Fors still didn't agree. Of course, this was also because she didn't know Ebner well enough. Many of her impressions of him ca directly from Xio's description.

"A heavy heart? Perhaps..." Xio paused and looked at her friend beside her. She said with uncertainty, "However, Fors, I keep having the feeling that you are the sa type of person as him."

"I'm the sa type of person as him?" Fors widened her eyes and repeated in confusion. She didn't think she had anything in common with Ebner.

"I think that you and his heart are actually very empty and at a loss... Neither of you have any clear goals." Xio paused and organized her words before continuing, "To be precise, be it you or him, both of you have a sense of alienation towards everything around you... Of course, both of you are much better now. Both of you are more real than when I first t you."

I'm alienated... For a person who no longer has any family, no hatred, and only wants to live like this, yet suffers pain every full moon, not knowing how long he can live, he is indeed empty and lost... However, I still have a goal. I want to solve the curse of the full moon, but this is obviously beyond my ability...

Fors was amazed by her friend's intuition, but she deliberately smiled on the surface. "What emptiness? I'm a famous best-selling author in Loen."

"Although writing novels is a hobby of yours, I know that it's also a way to relieve the emptiness in your heart. Yes, smoking and drinking are the sa." Xio shook her head and said affirmatively.

Fors didn't wish to argue with her friend on this matter, so she changed the topic. "What about Ebner? According to what he said, there should be a cult and military involved in his mother's disappearance. Doesn't he want revenge? Why would he be empty if he has enemies?"

"Ebner isn't passionate about revenge... I even have the illusion that he actually knows who his enemy is waiting for him to perish," Xio said with a strange expression.

"That's... hard to say. He does know a lot." Fors thought for a mont and nodded in agreent.

"Furthermore, he seed to have a strange sense of mission towards

at the beginning. This sense of dissonance only disappeared when we really beca friends. I guess he also sensed the alienation between himself and his surroundings, so he used

to make himself more real." Xio's tone was even more hesitant when she said this because it was purely her intuition. And in reality, even though Ebner was a little special, he didn't make her feel that special.

Fors smiled and teased, "You make it sound like you're his destined female lead. Heh, my inspiration ca."

Xio snapped to her senses when she heard that. Looking at the teasing look in her friend's eyes, she retorted, "Since I'm back, I'll keep an eye on you every day to write down your inspiration."

"Xio, you've changed..." You weren't so sharp before.

...

After a few days, Ebner wasn't in a rush to go to the Harvest Church to ask about Dr. Leonardo's outco. Instead, he first went to the police station in the bridge district to continue flipping through the dossiers, trying his best to create the impression that he was actively completing the Church of Storms's mission.

Although the investigation of people who were suddenly deranged or dented was perfunctory, Ebner had read through the case files carefully in hopes of finding traces of Beyonders.

"There have been many burglaries on Wayner Street, Iska Street, and the other six streets near South Borough in the past two days. And the result of the investigation was that there were no signs of the door being pried open?"

"There was a murder on Westcott Street. The victim was a waitress. No witnesses saw the killer."

"Most of the tramps gathered at Southampton Street have gone missing. No corpses have been found..."

Ebner dug out a few cases that seed to have Beyonder involvent but didn't seem high-end. He planned on taking the initiative to investigate and solve the case if they weren't entrusted to him.

"After all, it's a need for acting."

After Ebner sighed inwardly, he looked at the ti and saw that it was almost noon. He had no choice but to pack his files and leave the police station. After so thought, he rushed to the contact address that Darkwill had given him.
