Chapter 535 - The News Audrey Brought
Dream Labyrinth Tower... Ebner hadn't expected Klein to ask about it. His thoughts raced as he considered the implications. Since Klein directly ntioned "Dream Labyrinth Tower," it ant Klein either saw sothing about it in Roselle's diary or had gained the qualification of a "Climber" himself.
Judging by the way he's testing
privately, it's more likely the latter. After all, I've previously shown the "Ninth Law" talisman, and he may have even seen the "Doctor Strange Card" in the exchange list... Hmm, it could be both. He might have first discovered clues about the Dream Labyrinth Tower in Roselle's diary and then followed those clues to beco a Climber.
Maybe Miss Temperance joining the Tarot Club was also related to this. That tower is likely a thod Roselle devised to purify pollution, inspired by the separation techniques Daniel provided! The ripple effects from it must have altered Sharon's fate, allowing her to join the Tarot Club.
Compared to that senior transmigrator, the "butterflies" I've created are much smaller... As these thoughts flashed through his mind, Ebner quickly pieced together Klein's possible experiences. After a brief mont of contemplation, he decided there was no point in hiding it.
He nodded and said, "I do... Mr. World, have you also beco a Climber?"
So it really is the case... Klein murmured to himself before making the World say in his hoarse voice, "I suppose you could say that... Mr. Tower, I'd like to exchange information about it with you."
"What do you want to know? And what can you tell ?" Ebner asked after so thought.
"I encountered Roselle's corruption in the Dream Labyrinth Tower. If not for the Fool's protection, I wouldn't have made it out unscathed," Klein revealed, throwing out an enticing piece of information to pique Tower's interest.
Roselle... corruption? Klein has already reached the first level? Hearing this, Ebner was startled. However, he maintained a thoughtful expression before calmly saying, "Very well. I'm willing to exchange information on this matter."
With that, the two shared their respective experiences in the Dream Labyrinth Tower, both summarizing their encounters and personal deductions while leaving out unnecessary details. Of course, Klein concealed his and Sharon's identities, omitted the Tingen scenario, and even left out Roselle's ramblings about "Liu Bo"—he wasn't ready to reveal the existence of other transmigrators.
Likewise, Ebner refrained from ntioning his "cheats" and simply recounted what young Roselle had told him before disappearing on the sixth level.
Looks like I was right. Sharon was indeed drawn into the Tarot Club through the Dream Labyrinth Tower... Given Klein's vague explanation, she was probably "corrupted" and had to seek the Fool's help, which led to her becoming Temperance.
Furthermore, Roselle's ramblings further confirm my previous hypothesis... The Dream Labyrinth Tower really was his thod of sealing away his own corruption. And he built it after returning from the moon... aning the seal is far from perfect!
Just like Mr. Door, Roselle likely wasn't fully conscious while constructing it—he probably had "hidden triggers" planted in monts of instability. Klein and Sharon must have used Mr. Door's ravings from the Master Key to activate one of those backdoors...
As Ebner reflected on these possibilities, Klein was also digesting the information he had obtained. He gained a new understanding of Roselle's late-stage condition and beca even more wary of the Primordial Moon.
Of course, he also found himself envious of the potential functions the Dream Labyrinth Tower originally had, such as an exchange list... Unfortunately, without the Gate of Dreams and Reality, he had no way to farm points there.
After a mont of hesitation, Klein cautiously asked, "Could Mr. Door... actually be the Primordial Moon?"
"No, Mr. Door is the Angel of the Apprentice pathway. He doesn't have the Moon's authority," Ebner firmly replied after gathering his thoughts.
Previously, in the Tarot Club, Tower had briefly explained what an Angel King was, so Klein simply nodded and didn't pursue the matter further. However, he had a vague suspicion that Tower might know the true identity of the Primordial Moon but was unwilling to speak on it...
With that, their private conversation ca to an end, and the Fool lifted the sensory restrictions on the other mbers.
As for borrowing the Gate of Dreams and Reality, Klein chose not to bring it up for now. First, he wasn't ready to et Mr. Tower in reality; second, he still had concerns about climbing the tower and didn't plan to enter it again anyti soon... Miss Sharon likely shared the sa thoughts.
The other Tarot Club mbers had already adjusted their mindsets and were no longer feeling tense over the threats posed by the Aurora Order and the True Creator.
Miss Justice, Audrey, was the first to recover her senses. She smiled at Ebner, who sat across from her, and said,
"Mr. Tower, there's news about the demigod-level dragon skeleton you were looking for."
Hearing this, Ebner, who had just finished sorting through the new information obtained from World, felt a surge of excitent. Maintaining a composed smile, he asked,
"What kind of news? Is it reliable?"
Miss Justice pondered for a mont before replying,
"I can't guarantee absolute accuracy, but it's very likely true..."
After all, the information must have been verified by Alfred. He's not the type to deceive his sister.
"Please go ahead," Ebner nodded.
At this mont, the other mbers also turned their attention toward Justice. After all, anything involving a demigod-level creature—even if it was deceased and only its skeleton remained—was still worth paying attention to.
Audrey, who had been observing everyone's reactions, noticed that the entire group was now curious. Even the ever-gloomy Mr. World had slightly adjusted his posture, and the nearly expressionless Miss Temperance had turned her head in interest. Feeling satisfied, she organized her thoughts and was about to speak when sothing occurred to her. She then asked,
"Mr. Tower, do you need to request a private exchange?"
"No need, just say it directly," Ebner thought for a mont before deciding there was no need to keep it secret. After all, the dragon skeleton wasn't particularly useful to anyone else.
As for selling the information to outsiders? Ebner figured that would be the sa as making an enemy out of him, and no one in the Tarot Club would want to do that... especially since he knew most of them personally.
Justice nodded and, after carefully choosing her words, began with a soft smile:
"This news cos from a rchant caravan that frequently travels along the coast of the Sea of ????????Interval.
"It's said that after setting sail from Indor Harbor, the caravan encountered a dense fog and accidentally strayed into what seed to be an ancient ruin containing the remains of a dragon.
"Due to the presence of Five-Colored Radiant Stones arranged in a protective ritual around the ruins, they were unable to venture deeper and could only explore the outskirts.
"Even so, they still managed to acquire a considerable haul, bringing back many low-grade extraordinary materials and antiques.
"Upon returning to Loen, the caravan leader was consud by greed. He systematically eliminated all the mbers of the caravan along with their families and reclaid nearly all the items brought back from the ruins.
"But he never expected that one of the mbers had secretly sent details about the ruins—along with one of the retrieved items—to his illegitimate son, who happened to be serving in the Southern Continent at the ti. That son survived because of it.
"Oh, and the item that mber took was a portrait... A painting that has remained remarkably well-preserved through countless years."
At this point, she turned her head toward the uppermost seat of the Bronze Table and smiled gently.
"Mr. Fool, may I display the portrait?"
Klein was equally intrigued by this matter, so he gave a slight nod and said,
"You may."
"Thank you, Mr. Fool." Audrey habitually offered her praise before recalling the image that had arrived with Alfred's letter.
Monts later, a figure materialized in the air above the center of the long table. He was of dium build, with bronze skin, deep brown eyes filled with a sense of ti-worn wisdom, and gentle yet well-defined facial features. A small black mole could be seen beneath his right ear.
"Mr. Azik!"
Both Klein and Ebner called out his na in their hearts at the sa ti.
