"What? Wipe them all out?"

The baron stared at Sylas with a look of sheer disbelief. He wasn't the only one. The soldiers and knights standing around, as well as the servants attending to the guests, all shared the sa reaction.

What had he just said? That the three knights with him would take on everyone here?

"Incredible. He's let the hollow title of 'Dragonslayer' get to his head and gone mad, hasn't he?"

The baron, shedding even the last shred of pretense, began hurling insults. This ti, even the older man, Ervin, couldn't bring himself to intervene.

Sylas's words were so absurd, they made him seem like a lunatic.

"My goodness, this isn't even funny anymore. What's he going to do? He had to leave his weapons at the entrance, and even if he had them, it wouldn't make a difference—"

Crack.

"...Huh?"

Before the baron could finish his sentence, a sharp cracking sound echoed through the hall. One of the knights suddenly collapsed to the floor.

Everyone stared blankly at the fallen knight. What had just happened? A soldier glanced at the body and mumbled.

"His… his neck is twisted—"

Crack.

Another bone-snapping sound followed. This ti, it wasn't just one person. Two more bodies dropped simultaneously, each closest to Toby, Ray, and Isaac.

Finally, the onlookers realized sothing. The fallen bodies all had their necks twisted in the opposite direction.

Isaac picked up a sword that had fallen to the ground, grumbling, "Now this is more like it. It was too cramped to swing a weapon in here."

Without a word, Ray and Toby retrieved weapons from the corpses of the knights. Ray gave the sword a quick swing to test its weight before speaking.

"You said 'wipe them all out.' What about the servants and attendants?"

"Leave them. They can't fight," Sylas replied casually.

"Understood," Ray said as she surveyed the room. Her gaze swept over the knights and soldiers, whose faces turned deathly pale under his scrutiny.

The baron, who had been half in shock, finally snapped back to his senses and shouted, "K-kill them! Kill them all, right now—!"

"As you wish."

Slash!

Before the baron could finish, three blades danced through the air, and seven heads flew into the sky.

Toby let out a cold laugh. "I'll grant your wish and kill them all imdiately."

Spears and swords moved in a grueso dance, and the hall was quickly awash in a spray of blood.

Ervin, the older man, remained silent as he watched the massacre unfold before him. Or rather, he couldn't even move—he could only watch with wide eyes.

What's happening here?

Ervin's gaze darted around the room, trying to make sense of the situation. But he couldn't make out much. All he could see were flashes of gleaming blades and hear the whistling sound of wind cutting through the air.

Slash! Splatter! Thud!

"Ahhhh!"

"rcy! Guh—!"

"Gods above!"

Each ti a blade flashed or the wind roared, shattered pieces of human bodies flew into the air. Sotis it was a head, other tis an arm, a torso, or legs. Each strike drenched the hall further in blood, transforming it into a vision of hell on earth.

"Sir… Sir Ervin," one of the knights stamred, his voice trembling.

"Shut up," Ervin snapped quietly. He knew the knight had spoken out of fear, but this was not the ti to offer reassurance.

Ervin couldn't even move without fearing his own bladder would give out.

"Do not move. Do not speak. Keep quiet and stay still."

These were the only words Ervin could manage. If they couldn't stop the monsters, the least they could do was avoid drawing attention to themselves.

He didn't want to risk soone doing sothing stupid and dragging them all to their deaths.

"Ca-count! Sobody capture the count!"

The baron's hysterical scream rang through the hall. Half-crazed, he pointed toward Sylas.

The soldiers, montarily snapping out of their daze, turned their focus to him. Sylas remained seated, leaning back in his chair without a word.

The three knights, anwhile, were still busy dispatching soldiers scattered across the hall. Realizing Sylas was sitting slightly apart, the soldiers' desperation turned to resolve.

"Capture him! Grab him now!"

"Don't kill him! Take him alive!"

They believed Sylas was the only one controlling the monsters. If they could capture him, the massacre might stop. It was their one slim hope of surviving.

The soldiers rushed toward Sylas.

Crash!

A shattering sound rang out as one soldier flew backward, hitting the ground with a heavy thud.

Startled, the others turned to look at their fallen comrade.

"Is that… a goblet?"

The soldier's helt was dented, the damage extending deep into his skull. A dented tal goblet lay next to him, dripping with spilled liquor.

Only then did the soldiers realize it was the goblet the baron had handed to Sylas earlier.

"Tsk. What a bother," Sylas muttered, standing up from his chair with an expression of annoyance.

"Max, step back," he instructed.

"Yes, sir," Max replied without hesitation, quickly retreating. Normally, a servant would stay by their master's side to protect them, but Max moved without question.

Sylas picked up a table knife from the dining table, inspecting it with a look of disdain.

"Honestly, fools like you always co up with the most useless plans."

Slash!

The soldiers gasped in horror as one of their comrades fell to the ground, cleaved in two. Sylas hadn't even used a proper weapon—just the table knife in his hand.

What just happened?

Confused and terrified, the soldiers exchanged panicked glances. Sylas's calm voice cut through their disarray.

"What are you standing there for? Your master gave the order. Co at ."

Slash!

Sylas swung the knife lightly at the ground, leaving a deep gash in the marble floor as if it had been struck by a real blade.

The soldiers' eyes widened in terror. We didn't imagine it.

Sylas had used an ordinary table knife to send out slashing attacks from a distance.

It was a feat out of myth—a supernatural ability no ordinary human could hope to face.

"You know what? Never mind. If you won't co to , I'll co to you."
