Finally arriving at the city gates, Ye Liuyun spotted a group of lethargic soldiers idly chatting in the distance from afar. The mont they noticed his approach, they instantly perked up.

These soldiers collected entry fees, half of which invariably lined their own pockets. The city lord's office didn't bother providing them military stipends, leaving them to fend for themselves.

Another gave him a once-over and asked, "Which rcenary group are you with?"

"Shangliang, huh?" The soldier's eyes dimd with disappointnt, and the others imdiately lost interest. They'd been hoping to extort more, but upon hearing "Shangliang," they dropped the idea.
"Go on in then! And don't stir up trouble in the city!" one soldier added as a half-hearted warning.
With a nod of acknowledgnt, Ye Liuyun passed through the gates smoothly.
Scanning the area with his divine sense, he found the city rather peculiar—populated entirely by sprawling mansions of the wealthy, with no ordinary citizens in sight. The streets were sparsely dotted with pedestrians, and even the taverns and rchant houses stood eerily quiet.

The woman curled her lip, grumbling inwardly, *"See everything? I don't have ti for this..."*
But the mont she glimpsed the contents of the Interspatial Ring—200,000 top-grade divine crystals—her eyes lit up. A genuine smile spread across her face.
"Oh my, you're far too generous, sir! Right this way, let show you around!" Suddenly, she was all energy and enthusiasm.
The other assistants noticed the shift and guessed she must have landed a hefty tip. They secretly kicked themselves for failing to recognize that Ye Liuyun was loaded—or at the very least, extrely free with his money.

After browsing for a while without finding anything worth buying, he tossed the assistant another 100,000 top-grade divine crystals.
"You did a good job explaining. I'll go prepare the funds and co back another day," he said.
"Of course! We'll be delighted to have you back!" The assistant nodded eagerly, her head bobbing like a chicken pecking at grain.
After leaving the trading house, Ye Liuyun headed to a tavern and ordered so food and wine. Even the als here were pricey—apparently, everything in this place ca at a premium.
Once he'd eaten his fill, he decided to stay the night at the sa tavern. The front was for dining, while the rear housed luxurious—and predictably expensive—lodgings.
Between the al and the room, Ye Liuyun had already burned through 300,000 divine crystals.
