"Your sword intention even surpassess your master's sword will!" Li Xianying praised.
"You've got so incredible luck, kid! To be favored by an expert right off the bat!" Zhao Hu chid in with his voice tinged with awe.
Even though Ye Liuyun had gained a significant advantage, he was not overly elated. The sight of the endless rows of coffins before him dampened any sense of joy.
"You'll get used to it." Zhao Hu gave Ye Liuyun a firm pat on the shoulder and reassured him as they continued their journey.
Just as they were about to leave the area, the Devil-sealing Stele from Ye Liuyun's Ocean of Consciousness suddenly surged foth and hovering over a relatively new coffin before pressing down upon it.
This blatant disrespect towards the fallen warriors startled both Li Xianying and Ye Liuyun.
Li Xianying shot a questioning look at Ye Liuyun who quickly defended himself. "It wasn't ! It acted on its own!"
At that mont, Ye Liuyun noticed the na inscribed on the coffin was Jiuyou Devil.
"Is this never going to end? Can't I rest in peace even in death?"
A furious roar erupted from within the coffin, sending a chill down everyone's spine.
The Yin-soul of Jiuyou Devil erged from the coffin and and gazed towards Ye Liuyun.
"You again? How did you get here so quickly?" Jiuyou Devil was clearly taken aback by Ye Liuyun's swift arrival at the foreign race battlefield.
He then sensed the aura of the Lord of Ghostic World emanating from Ye Liuyun.
"The Lord of Ghostic World?" He muttered in disbelief.
His spectral form had been hiding within the coffin, barely maintaining its existence, waiting for an opportunity to go to the Ghostic World. He never expected Ye Liuyun to co.
Upon seeing him, Ye Liuyun was equally surprised.
"No wonder I never encountered you in the God Realm. So, you t your end battling here!"
He harbored no ill will towards Jiuyou devil. In fact, without Jiuyou Devil's Death Bell and the first part of Jiuyou Song, Ye Liuyun could have be perished long ago.
Even the Devil-sealing Stele which was supressing Jiuyou Devil had been of great assitance to him. In a way, Ye Liuyun owed Jiuyou Devil his gratitude.
Thus, Ye Liuyun nodded in acknowledgent when Jiuyou Devil posed a question.
"Can you help reach the Ghostic World?" Jiuyou Devil asked Ye Liuyun with his voice tinged with doubt.
"Certainly, but it will require so effort." Ye Liuyun replied.
He then asked Jiuyou Devil, "How did you end up dying here?"
"I was killed by the foreign race, of course! Why else would I be buried here?"
Jiuyou Devil retorted casually. He then pointed at the Devil-sealing Stele and added, "Can you remove this thing first? The sight of it makes sick!"
Ye Liuyun recalled Jiuyou Devil's cunning nature and how he had deceived him multiple tis in the past.
The sudden occurence of the Devil-sealing Stele pressing on him suggested that there was sothing significant worth suppressing. If it were rely a spirit, the Devil-sealing Stele would not have been able to abosrb.
"What's inside the coffin?" Ye Liuyun probed cautiously.
"My physical body!" Jiuyou Devil replied naturally.
With a faint smile, Ye Liuyun abruptly launched a spell attack. A burst of golden light erupted from within him.
"What are you doing?" Jiuyou Devil exclaid in shock.
The Buddha's halo light was the bane of his spectral existence.
"Since you refuse to speak the truth, I have no choice but to send you to your eternal rest!" Ye Liuyun chuckled. "You claid to master the transformation of Buddhist-Devil power, didn't you? Go ahead and try converting this Buddha's halo to Devil Qi!"
"You..." Jiuyou Devil was at a loss for words, mistakenly thinking Ye Liuyun was still harboring grudges from their past.
"Let bygone be bygone. Surely you're not still holding onto that? I didn't kill you back then and even gave you the Death Bell and cultivation techniques. Without those, you wouldn't have beco the ruler of the Ghostic World, right?" Jiuyou Devil tried to reason with Ye Liuyun, his tone almost pleading.
Ye Liuyun remained unmoved and the Buddha's halo was still radiating. "That's in the past. We had a fair exchange back then. You want to go to the Ghostic World and have remove the Devil-sealing Stele, yet you refuse to be honest. So, I'll have you transcend first and uncover the truth myself."
"Wait! Please! Let's talk this through! You're clearly stronger than and destroying my spectral form won't do you any good!
Please, retract the Buddha's halo. My soul can't withstand this tornt. I'll tell you whatever you want to know!" The cunning Jiuyou Devil quickly softened his stance when he saw Ye Liuyun's resolve.
Ye Liuyun was rely bluffing. After all, the bodies lying here were those of heroes who had fought against the foriegn race invaders. For that reason alone, he could not simply obliterate the Yin-soul.
Though he doubted Jiuyou Devil had truly sacrificed himself for humanity, he still needed to investigate further.
So, Ye Liuyun withdrew the Buddha's halo and watched closely to see what Jiuyou Devil would do next.
But as soon as the Buddha's halo light faded, Jiuyou Devil began to play the second half of Jiuyou Song, attempting to seize control of Ye Liuyun's mind.
He had only taught Ye Liuyun the first half of the symphony, keeping the latter half as his trump card. He believed no one else could possibly know it.
Yet, Ye Liuyun simply smiled. "Didn't you once claim you didn't know the second half of the symphony? If you keep pushing your luck, don't bla for truly annihilating you."
"What? You've learned the second half too? Where did you learn it from?"
Upon realizing that Ye Liuyun remained unaffected, Jiuyou Devil imdiately understood that Ye Liuyun must have also mastered the latter half of the symphony. He dared not attack Ye Liuyun again.
Ignoring Jiuyou Devil's question, Ye Liuyun pressed on. "I'll ask you one more ti. What's inside the coffin?"
"It's really just my physical body!" Jiuyou Devil replied helplessly.
Ye Liuyun was not about to take his word for it. He activated his Golden Phantom Eyes to scan the area.
While the coffins could block the probe from Divine sense, only the Golden Phantom Eyes could see through them. What he saw confird that it was indeed Jiuyou Devil's body inside.
However, the body was preserved far too perfectly. It was not only intact but also spotless.
He tried to peer deeper into Jiuyou Devil's body to determine the cause of death. But the devil qi within was so dense that it even obstructed his Golden Phantom Eyes' vision.
"There's definitely sothing fishy going on here!" Ye Liuyun thought to himself. "Jiuyou Devil must be hiding sothing inside his body. Otherwise, the Devil-Sealing Stele wouldn't be targeting him again."
Moreover, the Devil-Sealing Stele was trembling slightly, clearly locked in a struggle with sothing.
Although Li Xianying and Zhao Hu did not know the history between them, they had been listening to their conversation and observing their actions. They secretly warn Ye Liuyun via telepathy.
"That guy's obviously not telling the truth! Your stele is fighting sothing!" Li Xianying cautioned Ye Liuyun.
"That guy's a cunning one. I even suspect whether he was killed by a foreign race!" Zhao Hu's guess was even bolder.
Pretending not to notice anything amiss, Ye Liuyun told Jiuyou Devil. "Since there's no issue, I'll find a way to send you to the Ghostic World. It's better than letting your soul dissipate completely."
