"Where to? I’ll give you a ride."

Yueyue raised her eyebrows, put her phone in her pocket, and smirked, "Shangyun."

"Get in."

Feng Ye felt that Master Chen was exceptionally kind to Yueyue.

He was not soone who usually ddled in others’ affairs.

They just happened to pass by First Middle School today, where they saw her waiting at the gate for a ride. Master Chen told him to drive over.

Little did he know it was to pick her up!

A kid he had t just once!

Yueyue sat in the car and closed her eyes, appearing to have fallen asleep.

"Still no? Add more money."

Xiao Chen held a phone in his right hand, his eyebrows furrowed, his voice deep, as if deliberately lowered. His side profile was impeccably sharp and angular, with a cool detachnt, his tone both wild and arrogant while he spoke.

"No? Three tis, five tis, ten tis are all possible."

He looked increasingly impatient.

"Fine, give an answer as soon as possible." He hung up the phone and turned his side face towards this direction, his eyes deep and profound.

Yueyue’s eyelids twitched, and she shifted her position to continue sleeping.

The car rode smoothly, and there seed to be a pleasant scent of perfu inside, which made her fall asleep.

Feng Ye looked down at the ssage on his phone and eased off the accelerator.

Usually, 150 mph was too slow for him, but today he actually reduced the speed to 40 mph!

A journey that should have taken ten minutes was stretched to half an hour.

anwhile, Yueyue’s phone had fallen onto the back seat, and several calls ca through, one from a hidden number.

His eyes flickered with a dark light, recently these hidden numbers were the ones he most frequently received.

The other calls were from the sa person, likely a friend or relative of hers.

The car stopped outside the main entrance of Shangyun Hotel for half an hour. If it weren’t for the intimidating license plate, traffic police would have issued a ticket by now.

Feng Ye sat in the front, agonizing through the half hour. That duration ’social sister’ didn’t wake up, her cold and daunting companion beside her, and yet she could sleep through it all!

After an hour, she hadn’t moved at all.

Master Chen didn’t allow him to speak, leaving him to sit and wait for her to wake.

After a while, Feng Ye felt movent from the back seat, which made him stir, reminding him he was indeed alive.

"Woke up?"

Yueyue rubbed her temples. She hadn’t expected to fall asleep, let alone so deeply.

Lifting her eyelids to look at Xiao Chen, her eyes were red with veins, sowhat frightening. Her eyes were misty and slightly srizing.

"You fell asleep. You didn’t respond when called, so I let you sleep a bit longer." Xiao Chen twirled the jade ring on his right hand, which refracted a green light. His expression carried a touch of seriousness, and his eyes were unfathomable as deep pools.

Feng Ye scoffed inwardly, not buying that excuse.

Yueyue picked up her phone and glanced at the screen; she had slept for an hour. During that ti, Lin Xiang had called her five tis, probably worried.

"Thank you." She said expressionlessly, then got out of the car and entered Shangyun Hotel.

"Let’s go." Xiao Chen watched her figure disappear from his sight before retracting his gaze.

Feng Ye glanced at him through the rearview mirror without making a sound, then stepped on the gas pedal and quickly disappeared down the street.

"Why hasn’t Yueyue arrived yet? She’s not answering her calls, where could this child have gone!"

Lin Xiang’s graceful face was filled with urgency, and seeing Lin Xuanze calmly drinking tea beside her only fueled her annoyance. With a stern glance, she said in a heated tone, "I told you to wait for Yueyue, why did you co alone! She’s new to Lan City and doesn’t know her way around. What if she gets lost!"

Lin Xuanze was unfazed and leaned back, "She’s grown up; how could she possibly get lost? Maybe sothing caught her attention and she lost track of ti."

She’s clever, how could she possibly get lost? Even if she encountered danger, she could handle it. There’s no need to worry.

"Aunt Xiang, why don’t you sit down and have so tea? Yun Yue is grown up; she won’t get lost. Maybe sothing has just held her up, she’ll be here soon." Shen Xuan had specifically changed her clothes for today, donning a light yellow floral dress, which looked exceptionally elegant and refined.

She had just learned from Aunt Xiang that Yun Yue was her stepdaughter.

No wonder she was wearing designer clothes despite coming from a poor countryside area. It all made sense now.

So, her arrogance is all because of Aunt Xiang!

A woman beside Shen Xuan, with sharp eyes, blinked and elegantly set down her teacup, fixing her purposely styled hair with a smile, "Yes, don’t worry. It’s normal for children to have their own things going on once they’re grown."

She was dressed in a light golden cheongsam, accentuating her enchanting figure, with makeup reflecting classical Eastern beauty—utterly charming.

Just then, the door to the private room opened and Yun Yue entered, cold and proud.

Under the brim of her hat, half of her perfectly exquisite face was visible, indicating she was indeed a beauty.

However, the defiant air about her was truly off-putting.

Bai Hui slowly shifted her gaze away and picked up her teacup again.

Seeing Yun Yue appear safe and sound eased Lin Xiang’s worries, and she walked over with a smile, "Yueyue, it took you so long to get here. Nothing happened, right?"

"Nothing. I just got held up on the way." Yun Yue rubbed her eyebrows, finding Lin Xiang’s warmth a bit too much.

Her gaze then fell on Shen Xuan, her expression unchanged.

"No worries, as long as you’re safe," Lin Xiang urged her to sit beside her.

Then she introduced her with a smile, "This is Aunt Bai Hui, my good friend. And this is her daughter, Shen Xuan. Xuanxuan is the school beauty of First Middle School and she also has good grades. Since you are all girls, you should get together more often. Xuanxuan, you should really help Yueyue with her studies."

Shen Xuan’s smile was sowhat stiff, but she still nodded, "I will."

She had heard that Yun Yue scored zero on all three exam papers.

With such luck, she wondered if she could even help if she wanted to.

Besides, she really couldn’t bring herself to like the proudness that clung to Yun Yue—an unadorned dislike.

Lin Xuanze raised an eyebrow, watching his mother silently. His phone’s screen displayed the hopage of First Middle School’s campus forum, prominently featuring a photo of Yun Yue’s profile and the eye-catching words,

"First Middle School’s Beauty."

He gave Yun Yue a aningful glance, noticing that she was entirely unconcerned and seriously focused on her al.

"My Xuanxuan has just passed level ten in piano, and her aunt plans to take her to Beijing soon to participate in the Piano Association assessnts. I heard Master Yao Nan is considering taking on a new apprentice, and her aunt plans to let her try," Bai Hui expressed with pride, sowhat smugly.

Lin Xiang sincerely expressed her happiness for them, "Xuanxuan has always been hard-working and intelligent, I think she shouldn’t have any problems."

"Mom, Aunt Xiang, don’t make jokes about . Compared to those masters in Beijing, I still have a long way to go. I’d be satisfied just to get into the Piano Association, let alone being Master Yao Nan’s apprentice."

Shen Xuan’s cheeks flushed slightly, revealing a hint of shyness, although her confidence was hard to conceal.

Lin Xuanze was slightly taken aback; he hadn’t anticipated Shen Xuan had reached level ten. If she really got into the Piano Association, she would indeed be moving in different circles from then on.

Yun Yue sat quietly on the side, her gaze lowered, silently eating.

Is level ten really that impressive?
