As soon as the doors opened on the pitch-black Battleship D9 hovering next to the Black White Deity Mountain, Si Kong Yang rushed back inside. He had left in order to distract Lord You Lan while the battleship assaulted him from a small distance. Alas, the plan failed; despite his eagerness to keep fighting, he still quickly went back inside the ship. He knew that even with the Nine Dragon Fire Deity grade armor boosting his power, he was at most comparable with a Deity warrior.
"What can we do? Do we have any other plan that can deal with this Lord You Lan?!" City Lady Bu quickly asked, to which Palace Head Chen shook his head. "Our greatest hope has already failed. The lightning serpent sent by Battleship D9 might be fast, but it has its weaknesses as well… Our Xia Clan might have many Deity grade scrolls, but they still have to be manually used and controlled."
Deity grade scrolls could be used to attack and gain the upper hand, and the higher one’s comprehension was, the better they could control these scrolls. But they could never compare to the real might of a Deity, no matter how perfect one’s control was.
"There’s no guarantee we’ll successfully suppress them even if we use our Deity grade scrolls," said Palace Head Chen. "Unfortunately, we have no scrolls which could restrict the True aning of Ti Deceleration."
"Only Deities can begin to slowly touch upon the Profound Mystery of Ti. In the short ti after they reached deityhood, our Xia Clan Ancestors have only gained limited comprehension towards Ti. It’s not unreasonable for them to not have left any Deity grade scrolls able to restrict the True aning of Ti Deceleration," Mountain Lord He explained.
Grand Elder Palace Head was resigned. "We’re out of options. We have no way out of this predicant. They’ve massacred billions of our people; they’ve even slayed Feng Dong, yet we’ve no way of handling them!"
"I truly despise my lack of strength! I hate it!" Vice Mountain Head Zang Nuo growled.
Each of these Xia Clan Demigods were furious. They were bitter, yet there was nothing they could do. These enemies from the Dark Abyss were the cream of the crop, chosen from a wide selection. There was no way for the Transcendents from a mortal world to stand against them.
…
As the Demigods were racking their brains, the three terrifying existences kept hovering in mid-air. The leader, Lord You Lan, was disinclined from giving the Xia Clan any more ti, so he began speaking, "Transcendents of the Xia Clan, there are two options available to you. The first is to use all your treasures, including the Deity grade scrolls and even your Battleship D9, to fight , You Lan! The second is to obediently give thirty Deity grade scrolls as an apology for offending .
"Those are your options—give the 30 Deity grade scrolls, or fight . Make your choice," Lord You Lan continued, "I’ve no more ti to waste here. I’ll give you ten breaths’ worth of ti to discuss. If that amount of ti passes, and I still haven’t received an answer, I can just start playing around. You lot might be able to hole up inside that battleship, but what about all the mortals in this Xia Clan World? You can’t stuff them up with you. I’ll kill all of them, not a single soul remaining. Have no doubt, I can easily do that.
"Starting from this mont, you have ten breaths worth of ti left."
On the other side, inside Battleship D9.
A group of Xia Clan Demigods were looking outside the main deck through a transparent wall, looking at the barefoot black-skinned young man covered in the white cloth. Unlike the majority of the other demons, he had no horns or scales, nor did his body show any other characteristics of a demon. Despite that, the Demigods all shivered; he was the worst, most terrible demon from the Dark Abyss they had ever seen.
"What should we do? What can we do?"
"We have to either fight or surrender?"
"In ten breaths worth of ti, he’ll begin a massacre."
Not only the Demigods, but even the six ordinary Transcendents of the Black White Deity Mountain inside the main deck all paled with anxiety. They began transmitting the situation left and right, and even started preparations for the evacuation of the nearby mortal population.
"What are we going to do?!" The heads of each mber of the Xia Clan’s high echelon, including Palace Head Chen, Mountain Lord He, and the Grand Elder Palace Head all began to ache. They were sweating all over, and their expressions were hard to discern.
It was a crucial ti!
"We can’t surrender; there’s no way! My Xia Clan would rather die than bow their heads to outsiders," Si Kong Yang howled.
"We can’t surrender, but can we fight? We’d have to use countless treasures… What will we do in the future, when we’ll face the Sorcerer God and the Great Demonic God?" Mountain Lord He continued, a bitter taste in his mouth. "Do we flee? Do we watch from the sidelines as countless mortals of our Xia Clan are killed?"
"Then tell , what do you think we should do?" Si Kong Yang urged.
"I…I don’t know either." Mountain Lord He shook his head, faint traces of tears visible at the corners of his eyes.
They truly wished to put their full might on display and fight back. If it would rid them of this damnable Lord You Lan, they would even use the entire foundation of the Xia Clan. But they knew that if they did that, they really would be wiped out in the future battle against the Sorcerer God and the Great Demonic God. They would beco the ones who dood the Xia Clan for the sake of a mont’s delight.
"Mn?" The Demigods in the battleship turned their heads to look at a spot in mid-air where a dark tear in space had suddenly appeared.
"What? Who would dare rip through space to co here at such a mont."
…
The three mbers of You Lan’s group who were still waiting for the Xia Clan’s answer also turned to look at that location. For that mont, both sides were focusing all their attention on that spot.
In the distance, a white-clothed youth could be seen flying out of that tear in space.
Lord You Lan remarked, "Oh, is that Dong Bo Xue Ying?" Having been sent here, they had naturally received so information regarding the Xia Clan World, including intel on so of the powerful locals. Xue Ying also appeared on that list.
"He is Dong Bo Xue Ying? Judging by his complexion, he must be afflicted by so sort of hexing poison. But why is he here; did he co to et his demise?" said the black-robed Nuo Nuo An.
General Ku ng jeered, "Perhaps he knew he’ll die soon, so he just couldn’t wait any longer?"
On the other hand, the Xia Clan were nothing but anxious.
Even the Xia Clan Demigods had not co directly there. They first gathered inside Battleship D9 before making their way over. They did not dare arriving so recklessly, out of fear that the three Dark Abyss team mbers would attack them in a mont of carelessness.
Battleship D9’s doors opened, and Palace Head Chen urged from inside, "Why’d you co here? Quickly, get inside! Quick!"
Xue Ying smiled back. "Why shouldn’t I have co? You have wronged , Palace Head Chen. There was such a big event, and yet you didn’t let know. I had to find out from the other Transcendents that such a great incident occurred here, at the Black White Deity Mountain. Don’t forget I’m also a Transcendent of the Xia Clan!"
Palace Head Chen’s heart soured upon hearing Xue Ying’s words.
"Just hurry up and enter! Quick!" Palace Head Chen kept anxiously waving his hand. He knew Xue Ying did not fear death, but he saw no worth in such a death. He was afraid that Xue Ying had beco reckless due to the suffering caused by the hexing poison. They might have been able to control the other Demigods, but Xue Ying could walk inside the Mirage. They couldn’t stop him even with the battleship’s help.
Si Kong Yang appeared next to Palace Head Chen and said with shared anxiety, "Xue Ying, hurry up and co here."
But Xue Ying didn’t pay them any more attention. Instead, he flew towards Lord You Lan and his group.
"Xue Ying, are you crazy?" Palace Head Chen transmitted breathlessly. "There’s no aning in you going there. You’re just throwing away your life to beco a hero for a mont; there’s no rit in that! Those three demons are incredibly powerful, especially that Lord You Lan. He’s like a real Deity! What can you do if you go there? Giving your life away like this is despicable."
Palace Head Chen couldn’t stand this situation; nothing he told Xue Ying had any effect! Had he known Xue Ying would try to co over, he would have definitely locked the surrounding thousand kiloter wide space around their location to stall him. Since he wanted to save the ship’s energy, however, he only locked an area of fifty kiloters to prevent Lord You Lan and his group entrance to the battleship.
…
Having arrived at the Black White Deity Mountain and near Battleship D9, Xue Ying simply hovered there, looking at Lord You Lan and the rest of the group.
"Sir, my Xia Clan has welcod you. We have not done a single thing to offend you and have never ddled in any of your business. And what did we get in return?"
Xue Ying gloomily continued, voice trembling, "You treated my Xia Clan like livestock, slaughtered millions of our people, and devoured their souls. Vice Mountain Lord Feng Dong refused to bow to you or beg for your rcy, so you took his life. Did he ever do anything wrong? He was rely protecting his clan. But you weren’t satisfied with just his death, so you demanded thirty Deity grade scrolls from my Xia Clan as reparation. You claid that if we don’t hand them over, you’ll kill every last mortal of our clan, not sparing a single one!"
Listening to Xue Ying’s words, every single Xia Clan Transcendent on the ship grieved, furious beyond asure. So of them were gritting their teeth so hard, they nearly broke.
"I don’t like your tone." Lord You Lan frowned. "So you’ll be the next to die." As he spoke, he once again stretched his hand, and his finger elongated.
"The one who’ll die is you!" Xue Ying roared. A spear with a body like a cloud of flas instantly appeared in his hand.
But with the spear’s appearance, Xue Ying’s own figure disappeared, not a trace of him remaining in the surroundings.
"Mn?" Previously ready to attack, Lord You Lan knitted his eyebrows and retracted his hand. "Where did he go?"
"Ah, where is he?" The expressions on Nuo Nuo An and General Ku ng’s faces slightly shifted. They carefully searched their surroundings.
"I’ve heard he has comprehended the True aning of Shadow or the True aning of Mirage. But if he was still in the stage one realm, there’s no way he could have avoided our probing." Lord You Lan looked all around with a grim look, but no matter what he did, he couldn’t detect any Transcendent other than the ones inside the distant Battleship D9.
There was nothing! Dong Bo Xue Ying had vanished into thin air!
"Don’t worry, I’ll handle you one by one. Take your ti," a familiar voice resounded, making Lord You Lan and the other two put even more effort in their probing. But they still failed to find the source. The voice then echoed again, "Nuo Nuo An, you’ve massacred countless people of my Xia Clan. You shall be the first to die!"
