In the sky, an ominous yellow glow had appeared at so unknown ti.
It was like the last twilight of the setting sun, carrying an ominous sensation, filled with a sense of ruin and decay.
Under the Yellow Heaven, there was an innurable army of the undead from the west.
These were the four major legions stationed at the front lines by the Clent Kingdom.
By this ti, they had all been transford into the undead, even launching counterattacks against their own defensive lines.
"Damn the commanders, they deceived us!"
Arnold felt his hands trembling as he clutched his gun, "It wasn’t so guerrilla squad at all. The entire frontline legions are finished... Those Easterners, the Easterners..."
Although he had heard of mysterious beings, he himself had no professional rank.
After all, he was just a new recruit, without any remarkable talents, he was not seen as soone to be promoted to a Soldier!
At this mont, many of the new recruits were as confused as he, so could no longer withstand the pressure and started fleeing to the rear, only to be executed on the spot by the military tribunals.
"Praise be to our Lord!"
At that ti, several individuals clad in clergyman robes suddenly appeared on the ramparts, praying aloud.
"Oh Lord of the Gate, we pray to you, we beseech you, we implore that you grant your blessings and purge the evil..."
They were all extraordinary mbers of the Church.
Yet such prayers, in reality, would not be answered even once by the Lord of the Gate.
However, it didn’t matter; as extraordinary figures in the hierarchy of faith, what they truly utilized was their own supernatural power, collecting and leveraging the spirit overflowed from the believers, to gather a wide-ranging spell effect.
The next mont.
Dazzling white light erupted from the clergy, flooding down the city walls like a tide.
The undead that entered the range of the white light suddenly slowed down significantly, as if they were sowhat suppressed.
But they still pressed on, storming the base of the Fufeng City walls, piling up layer upon layer, forming mounds like small hills made of corpses.
"Fire!"
Within the hysterical roar of the officers wielding command sabers, Arnold forced himself to rally his spirit and pulled the trigger, firing bullets.
But it had to be said, the musket had limited effect on the undead who had no vital points.
Only the cannons were still sowhat effective.
And, as dead bodies gradually filled the trenches, the endless sea of undead was about to level the moat, even piling as high as the city walls themselves.
Arnold felt a twitch at the corner of his eye.
Not to ntion the imnse pressure from directly confronting an army of the undead that used to be allied soldiers, just this scene alone was enough to make many soldiers of the Clent Kingdom despair.
Because the undead were still moving, it ant that the extraordinary mbers of the Church could not suppress the ominous glow in the sky!
This signified that in the mystical realm, their own side was at a disadvantage!
In their understanding, when the extraordinary were defeated, there was basically no need for mortals to continue the war.
"Continue, maintain artillery suppression, don’t stop!"
The officers understood this as well, but as extraordinary figures themselves, they remained firm.
Because within Fufeng City, there still was a true Guardian!
His Highness, Prince Sauron of the dici Family, a "Ruler"!
This is also the 7th sequence in the "Spirit Child" chain!
Among demigods, he is also an extrely powerful being.
"The front... has truly fallen."
Within Fufeng City, a Western man dressed in extravagant attire, holding a glass, sighed, "This second empire that has been built upon this ancient realm is indeed vastly different from the previous ones... It’s just a pity that so within the kingdom fail to see clearly, or perhaps, they have no other choice..."
Those who could ascend to such ranks were no fools.
The upper echelons of the Clent Kingdom were clearly aware that this bone from the East was not easy to gnaw on, but they had no other choice.
The internal class division, conflicting contradictions, workers’ strikes, and various economic crises had reached an acutely sharp point.
If they did not divert these conflicts through an external war, it would only lead to an eruption internally.
.
The friction among Western countries was one such manifestation.
And now, they found a new "outlet valve"...
"Compared to civil war, external warfare is naturally a bit better. It’s a reluctant choice..." Prince Sauron drank the remaining wine from his glass in one gulp, muttering to himself.
As a mber of the royal family, his position naturally aligned with the nobles and the great rchants; he could not possibly support any bottom-up reforms that ant relinquishing many powers and statuses.
And at this ti, there was no choice but to fight for the country!
Prince Sauron dici looked up, gazing at the dimming sky, his eyes flitting with countless mysterious symbols: "The scepter of twilight? Realms of decay, decline, and destruction..."
As a "Ruler," his control over the Spirit Realm and all things, whether in scope or degree, was beyond that of a "Controller."
At this mont, rely with a thought, the expressions of all the soldiers in the ’giant’ corps changed instantly, their deanors filled with a fierce and peremptory quality, sniping the tide of corpses with precision and order.
Just after three breaths, on the battlefield, the reanimated corpses that had been aggressively attacking the walls suddenly trembled and, as one, turned around, charging towards the realm beneath the Yellow Heaven.
In the span of a few seconds, Prince Sauron had completed a large-scale ’domination,’ turning almost the entire army of the reanimated into his pawns!
This was the might of a "Ruler"!
Even so of the Cultivators hidden within the horde of corpses seed to forget their original purpose, transforming into the dominated.
"There must indeed be a Dharma Body..."
Amidst the dusky light, a voice as clear as jade suddenly resonated.
With this voice, a whispering chorus reverberated in the ears of countless people.
Arnold’s gaze involuntarily lifted to that expanse of Yellow Heaven.
There, amidst the grandiose and yet damaged twilight glow, the figure of a giant suddenly appeared.
He seed to be composed of myriad twilight rays, with a towering figure and a face that was a blurred vortex of chaos, emitting the essence of ’observing the ways of heavens and acting upon it.’
The Taiping Sect Master, Yellow Heaven Dharma Body!
Arnold’s eyes widened, tears of blood streaming down his face unchecked, as his body began to transform, cracking open to reveal the light of dusk shining through the fissures...
Yet the next mont, a passionate and rousing voice reached his ears: "Warriors of the kingdom, I bestow my blessing upon you, grant you the strength to go forth... Fight for the kingdom."
It was Prince Sauron’s voice.
As this voice echoed, Arnold suddenly realized that although his body was mutating, he could control, or rather ’dominate’ it, filling him with a sense of power.
He received a temporary ’blessing,’ able to control the transformation to a certain extent. Of course, when this period passed, death was inevitable, but he himself was unaware...
