The night in Black Fog City was very tranquil.

Thanks to the "sll" lingering on Zola and the others, which was effective at dispersing monsters, the night watch duty was very relaxing.

Zhong Shenxiu left his room and saw Rachel leaning against a wall with a rifle on her back, taking what seed to be a candied apple out of a can and swallowing it contentedly.

"You’re not sleeping? We’re going to the factory area tomorrow; the harvest should be big. You guys have worked hard."

Rachel asked casually.

"Can’t sleep... I’m going to look around so more... Maybe there will be so gains."

Zhong Shenxiu made up a reason casually, "How powerful a Spirit-class force is, can Demon Hunters really accommodate it?"

"I’ve never heard of anyone succeeding, actually... Most of the Demon Hunters cultivated by Sky City are Servant-class, and it’s easy to lose control when they get to the Dependent-class, turning into monsters... There once was a mid-tier Dependent-class Demon Hunter who lost control, causing terrible casualties in the city."

Rachel sighed, "That’s why everyone dislikes Demon Hunters so much, seeing them as ticking bombs... Nowadays, we generally only cultivate Demon Hunters up to upper-tier Servant-class, to reduce the possible harm they might cause."

’The extraordinary beings in this world are really miserable...’

Zhong Shenxiu sighed silently in his heart, planning to chat about sothing else, when his expression suddenly beca touched, and he looked towards a certain room door.

That was... the room Zola had chosen!

Bang!

A muffled sound emitted, accompanied by Zola’s stifled groan.

"Sothing’s happened!"

Rachel’s face beca very serious, she flipped open the safety catch of her rifle and rushed into Zola’s room.

The room was originally a bedroom, filled with girlish pink hues.

However, Zola at this mont tumbled awkwardly off the bed, and a wound suddenly appeared on the surface of her body.

"An invisible monster? If it can’t be dispersed by the sll on us, does that an it is cunning and intelligent?"

Rachel reacted extrely quickly, raising her hand and throwing a glass bottle.

Crash!

It smashed on the ground, rippling out a large amount of dust that filled the air.

This was a tool similar to "reveal powder," which could make monsters with invisibility effects appear.

But at this mont, there was nothing in the void, and the outline of a monster did not erge.

"Zola... seems to be having a nightmare."

Zhong Shenxiu looked at Zola, who had rolled off the bed, and noticed that her eyes were still closed; her eyeballs were rolling under her eyelids as if filled with pain.

"A monster in her dreams? She is hurt, and it reflects on her physical body in reality?"

Rachel’s eyes widened slowly, "That No-Face Spirit described in the diary, does it still exist here?"

"It seems so, we need the Demon Hunters’ support, go find Joz."

Zhong Shenxiu said quickly.

"No need."

A sowhat weak voice ca through.

Zola suddenly opened her eyes, her pupils contracted and stood on end, resembling the vertical pupils of a wild beast.

In a flash, this abnormality contracted rapidly and was not even noticed by Rachel.

"Captain... are you okay?"

Rachel quickly took out a bandage to treat Zola’s wound.

"We can’t sleep here, there are monsters attacking in our dreams... Damn it, the intelligence was wrong. Black Fog City has a psychic contaminant, and it’s Dependent-class!"

Zola quickly grabbed her gun, raising her voice without any suppression, "Ergency assembly!!!"

A few minutes later, in the hall, all mbers of the Vanguard Exploration Scavenger Team had arrived and were standing in line.

"Now... state your nas, positions!"

Zola’s gun indirectly pointed at everyone, her tone extrely strict.

"Rachel, scavenger team mber, your duties are combat, patrolling, night watch..."

Rachel answered loudly.

"Joz, scavenger team mber, Demon Hunter, responsible for dealing with Spirit-contaminated entities, confirming the ntal state of each team mber..."

The inconspicuous Joz replied.

"Li Wei, laborer, your duty is to carry..." Zhong Shenxiu glanced around.

"I... I am the Demon Hunter Koro, I seem to have sensed sothing?" Koro’s expression was sowhat panicked.

...

One by one, the team mbers responded loudly, and soon, Zola’s gaze fell on the last person: "How about you?"

"Ax... Axinger, team... mber..., my duty is also combat..."

Axinger’s behavior was strange, resembling a child just learning to speak, initially unclear, but then it beca fluent.

Swoosh!

Everyone instinctively kept their distance from him, forming an isolated circle.

"Captain, why are you all looking at like that?" Axinger looked very wronged.

Zola coldly lifted her gun, aiming at Axinger.

"Captain..." Axinger’s expression beca pained: "I... I pursued you, I am Axinger... Rachel, do you rember the candy I gave you?"

"Captain?"

Rachel’s expression just began to show hesitation, then a gunshot was heard.

Bang!

Axinger’s chest blew open, a large hole, with countless bits of flesh splattering.

But he did not fall; what would be a fatal wound to an ordinary person seed to cause him no harm.

Because he was gradually becoming ’inhuman’!

"There’s a ’Faceless Spirit’ here, and the people it controls will beco its puppets! These puppets start off with very fuzzy speech and mories, but through various stimuli, they quickly beco fluent..."

Joz suddenly understood, shouting aloud.

’So, Axinger initially couldn’t speak well, but gradually he could, becoming fluent... and he originally had little mory, but after seeing Zola, the subconscious mories were stimulated, erging, and he knew about past events... This, this is a bit terrifying. If given enough ti, he could perfectly impersonate Axinger...’

Zhong Shenxiu silently nodded.

The dream attacks of the Faceless Spirit and its ability to manipulate puppets were indeed very troubleso.

Even a slight lack of attention could lead to the entire team being affected unknowingly, being replaced one by one.

’Only the Demon Hunters with their unique spirits might possess a bit of resistance; other ordinary people wouldn’t even know how they died, such is the terror of a Spirit-contaminated entity...’

Zhong Shenxiu glanced at Zola and then suddenly looked at Koro.

"You will always be our brother!"

Zola bowed her head slightly, as if in silent mourning, then after a few seconds, she looked at the monster with its chest torn open and fired again.

Bang!

Axinger’s entire head exploded, various red and white fluids spilling everywhere.

The scavengers present, even the youngest, Rachel, showed no reaction to this; they simply remained silent, ready to deal with any further assaults from the monster.

The lessons from Sky City had taught them that if a monster could still move after its heart and head were destroyed, it could only be turned to ashes!

Luckily, the monster fell to the ground and finally stopped moving.

"Axinger..." Only then did Rachel allow her sorrow to surface.

"Koro, shouldn’t you explain why there is a Familiar-level Spirit-contaminated entity here?"

Suddenly, Zola turned her gun, pointing it at the Demon Hunter guide.
