Ascension!
Reaching the Origin!
This was the ultimate pursuit of all the mystics in the Federation.
In their eyes, as long as they reached the Origin, they could obtain everything.
But Zhong Shenxiu, after all, ca from a different world and couldn’t help but find the rigid concept sowhat amusing.
"Why... do you think that by reaching the Origin, you can obtain everything?"
"Using the mindset of mortals to gauge the thoughts of those existences, utterly ridiculous!"
"And even the Ascenders, in the eyes of existences like Sisui, are no different from ants, right?"
"However, an ant of considerable size ultimately has so utility, like ?"
"What would happen if I used ’longevity blood’ to achieve ’longevity’, or even ascend?"
"An ’Ascender’ who could influence the authority of the Master of Black Blood but does not believe in Him... Such blasphemy; I’m afraid that at the mont of my ascension, I would be slaughtered by the Master of Black Blood, no?"
"But is this not also the best opportunity to lure out the Master of Black Blood? If we were to use fishing as a taphor, am I that very bait?"
"The righteous gods want to use to bait the Master of Black Blood? Such as Sisui? That’s why those affiliated with Sisui, the Keepers of Secrets, would show that scene, hinting that once such a situation arises, at least Da Mo from the Evil God would stand by and watch, giving the Three Gods Alliance a high chance of victory..."
Because Da Mo had allied with Sisui before and was hostile toward the tail-eating snake.
Once the tail-eating snake moves to rescue the Master of Black Blood, Da Mo might actively clash with it.
There was also the Moth Lord, who was unable to stop anything.
"No... the complexity of the gas and balances, and how to ensure that the other five existences do not intervene, are beyond my current grasp... Perhaps even the earlier thoughts are filled with mistakes, but one thing is certain, to make a horse run, you must let it eat grass... After all, my greatest use should be at the mont of ascension!"
Thinking of this, Zhong Shenxiu felt his heart race.
This ant that those pulling strings from behind, at least, would tacitly permit his ascension; this could be a position comparable to the Primordial Spirit!
"If I were a Primordial Spirit..."
Zhong Shenxiu closed his eyes, and scenes from the Second Yan Han Empire once again erged.
Whether the largest forces like the three Daoist sects and the six Demon Sect paths all had a Corporeal Spirit in residence remained a mystery.
The real rulers were the Dharma Bodies and various Primordial Spirit Ancestors!
Primordial Spirit Practitioners, with lifespans incredibly long and Divine Skills imasurable, could be said to entirely stand at the pinnacle of the Second Yan Han Empire!
"This bait is enticing, targeted at ."
He sighed, feeling he truly had to swallow it.
"Perhaps I’ll tread this path and never return, or even mix in as a deity?"
Zhong Shenxiu laughed at himself inwardly and then his expression beca resolute.
...
No one knew how much ti had passed when, within the Hall of True Knowledge, a flash of light appeared and three figures materialized.
Rodrisge stepped forward first and introduced to Zhong Shenxiu, "Mr. Li Wei, let introduce you. These two are ’White Tower Master’ Serpiano, and ’Traveler’ Leon!"
Serpiano was a woman in her forties, with an unremarkable appearance and an air that said "keep out," which oddly reminded Zhong Shenxiu of a school disciplinarian.
Leon, however, had a head of golden curls and a handso face, his lips often curled in a sunny smile that easily won people over.
"It seems we have ’The Serpent Handler,’ Li Wei Mojito. I’ve long admired your reputation!"
Serpiano was the first to speak, using a low tone.
’The Serpent Handler?’
Zhong Shenxiu’s eyelid twitched, knowing the epithet the mystical world had coined for him as the one who controlled the Feathered Serpent. Though it was quite fitting, he thought he might spit blood from frustration: ’Bah... you’re the serpent handler, your whole family handles serpents... my na isn’t Xu...’
On the surface, he still had to show an awkward but polite smile, "Just call Li Wei."
"Then I’ll do just that, Mr. Li Wei. I heard you’ve declined a council position," Leon said enthusiastically, stepping forward. "A wise decision. We need not concern ourselves with worldly matters, simply exploring the Spirit Realm is enough... Unfortunately, even with the combined efforts of the entire Federation to create the beacon map, this area remains elusive... I sotis feel we’ve rely established a tiny colony on a new continent..."
"After all... the Spirit Realm is far too vast."
Zhong Shenxiu felt the sa way.
"And looking for the fifth Dao Mark in such an imnse territory is like a fool’s dream," Leon sighed. "Nonetheless, the opportunity to travel to many places and see more of the world is already enough. I believe, as long as we keep working hard, one day we will find the Sky Trial!"
This attitude made Zhong Shenxiu wonder if Leon had faith in the so-called ’Traveler’!
"We have brought fine wine and food, especially to celebrate with you, Li Wei."
Leon continued, while pulling out a bottle of wine.
Rodrisge was beaming as he took out roast chicken, cheese, roast suckling pig, and other delicacies, clearly not simple ingredients to bring deep into the Spirit Realm.
"Thank you."
Zhong Shenxiu thanked them with a smile, glanced at Serpiano who had co empty-handed, and the four of them sat down to enjoy the food and wine.
Leon was very talkative, especially after he heard that Zhong Shenxiu had impressive bartending skills, and he assured him with a pat on the chest that he would definitely go to Byron City to have a proper tasting session.
It seed that constant travel and exploration were the entirety of his life’s aning.
Zhong Shenxiu naturally expressed his welco.
And then, Leon invited Zhong Shenxiu to join the great army of explorers of the Spirit Realm.
According to him, about half of the mbers of the council of over thirty sages from the Federation spent most of their days imrsed in the Spirit Realm.
Without the beacon map, they might well have been lost long ago.
"Exploring the Spirit Realm? Absolutely!"
Zhong Shenxiu agreed sincerely.
Leon smiled and handed over a crystal beacon, "This is the Federation’s public map. It may not include so of the latest private discoveries, but it’s sufficient for initial reference."
After an enthusiastic discussion, Rodrisge coughed and his expression turned serious. "Lady Serpiano has so intelligence to share with us."
At the ntion of this, Leon’s expression fell, "What bad news now."
As the White Tower Master, Serpiano was responsible for watching the movents of many great entities and predicting the risks they would pose to the world. Therefore, she was hardly the bearer of good news and was considered the Federation’s ’harbinger of death.’
"After the last ’Blood Cup’ war, the star representing the Master of Black Blood shifted, bringing about a series of influences."
Serpiano spoke gravely, "Because of this, the ’end tis’ foretold in prophecy will arrive a hundred years earlier. I hope that while you explore the depths of the Spirit Realm, you can look out for similar signs, to aid our work in prophecy..."
