Amid the unending series of notifications about soldiers slaying monsters, another set of ssages flashed before him: his three captains had evolved.

Roland was the first to evolve; he rose two minutes before Josh. Both were exceedingly amazed at the newfound strength their evolved bodies could wield.

Winston and Bryce had already left the battlefield, now standing with Rowan. They congratulated their colleagues on their successful evolution with smiles. Both were extrely happy that others had joined them in obtaining true powers—it only ant their territory would be in safer hands!

About thirty minutes later, Bruce rose as well, his reaction mirroring that of the others.

"Three of you have proven yourselves as true leaders," Rowan complinted them with a sharp smile.

The three felt proud and thanked him. They even asked to return to the battlefield, which was still raging as more monsters poured out thanks to Rowan's second hunter call.

"If you three go in with your new strength, there would be a major scarcity of monsters for the others to slay. From now on, you guys will have to stay with on the sideline and only react when any soldier is in a risky position. Secondly, the monsters here are too weak for you three," Rowan replied.

The three understood quickly. It beca even clearer when Rowan called Bryce and Winston off the battlefield amid the intense fighting.

All three of them were swordsn and thus acquired the sa skill as Winston—Blade Spirit. This allowed Rowan to understand how it worked and provided a hint of what might happen in the future when they evolved for the second ti.

Ten minutes later, the number of monsters had reduced drastically thanks to the soldiers' relentless fight. The corpses of thousands of monsters lay scattered across the plain, pooled in blood.

Yet the soldiers remained agile and active despite the long battle. They looked ready for more.

Without orders, they harvested and submitted monster cores. Learning about their captains' successful evolution only increased their zeal. Rowan had planned to suggest a brief rest, but the soldiers refused.

"We can't rest now; there is nightti for that. We are still ready to fight!"

"Yes! Let us proceed to our next hunting zone."

Rowan had no choice but to proceed with the second raid of the day. The journey to find a new plain was lengthy, as no open fields remained capable of holding their numbers.

The largest one they found was about half the size of the last, with many large trees fallen and covering a substantial part of the area. Rowan presud that a gigantic monster might have been responsible for the fallen trees. Read exclusive content at My Virtual Library Empire

"I think this one is good enough," Roland suggested.

"Are you sure? I've been using places with open space to prevent the n from getting sneak-attacked by monsters," Rowan cautioned.

While it would be nice to challenge the strength and dexterity of his soldiers, he didn't want to lose more n than during the night hunt. Fighting while closely surrounded by large trees was dangerous—monsters could use the trees to their advantage. It would be exceptionally harder, especially for the archers.

"They've been hunting for six good days now and ventured into more than thirty raids already. I am sure they've gained enough experience to survive this," Roland replied.

"And if they haven't, then they are worthless!" Bryce added brazenly.

Rowan replayed the suggestion three tis in his head and finally agreed. Calling the soldiers together, he revealed his plan to use this location for the second raid.

"This will be almost as tedious and dangerous as the night hunt that claid the lives of our beloved comrades. So be careful, go all out, and be your brother's keeper," Rowan addressed them.

He offered a few more tips and, most importantly, announced that no formation would be utilized.

Without a formation, the archers would find it exceptionally difficult to slay monsters, as close-range fighters would gain the upper hand. That was the reason Rowan had ford a formation in the first place.

Now that it was broken, everyone would have to adapt and use the situation to their advantage—it was another important form of training, to be honest.

"Archers, sharpen your aim and support the others. You will be the backbone of this raid. Your aim shouldn't be on the ground alone this ti but on the trees and in the air. The entire space should be under your radar."

Rowan was accustod to giving lengthy speeches, and his [Super Voice] was always there to boost morale, so it was no problem. With no more advice to give, he rallied the soldiers and activated the Hunter call imdiately.

Chaos erupted once again. The monsters charged from all directions ferociously. The archers began their assault while the others charged toward the monsters. The slaughter began imdiately.

The battlefield was extrely challenging for the archers. They had to aim at monsters not far away from them and, worst of all, they had to use their aim to the fullest to prevent injuring their own n.

But they attacked anyway— a challenge lay before them, and they had to do their best to overco it.

On the other hand, Rowan noticed a strange pattern—the archers seed to be receiving extra evolution points for every kill. While the swordsn and martial artists gained 20–25 evolution points from slaying FF-rank goblins, the archers gained 30–35.

In the last raid, archers gained the sa amount of evolution points for killing the sa goblins as the others. But now it was different.

"It seems the more challenging it is to slay the monsters, the more evolution points they are rewarded! That is good; the archers would be able to catch up to the others this way!" Rowan smiled.

The battle continued, growing even more chaotic.
