Looking for relatives: I acquired my mother’s billion-dollar enterprise Chapter 26
At the towering headquarters of Gezhi Group, the air buzzed with anticipation. Song Yazhi, flanked by her son and daughter, ascended directly to her office via the president’s exclusive elevator. The sleek glass walls reflected their figures as they stepped into the expansive space.
“Son, this is where Mom spends most of her ti,” Song Yazhi said with a proud smile. With ti to spare before her eting, she took Qin Yuan on a tour of her office and the 66th floor, showcasing her domain. The subtle hum of activity beyond the doors added an undercurrent of energy to their walk.
Qin Yuan examined every corner with ticulous attention, his sharp gaze taking in the details of his mother’s working environnt. He knew her workaholic tendencies and couldn’t help but worry.
As if sensing his concern, Song Ziwei spoke up. “Don’t worry,” she said, her tone steady. “I’m always here to look after her.”
Qin Yuan nodded, reassured by her sincerity.
“Caifu, take your brother around the company,” Song Yazhi instructed, glancing at her secretary’s report. “I need to et with Tanabe Ichiro from Daikin Corporation.”
With a purposeful stride, Song Yazhi and Song Ziwei left the office, accompanied by a small entourage. anwhile, Caifu turned to Qin Yuan with a playful grin.
“Co on, Brother. Let show you around,” she chirped.
“Lead the way,” Qin Yuan replied, curious to see the empire his mother had built.
As they moved through the building, Caifu pointed out various departnts. “This is the Strategic Departnt,” she said, gesturing toward a glass-walled area filled with bustling professionals. “And over there are Marketing, Public Relations, and so on. But the heart of our company lies in the Technology Research and Developnt Departnt. We have over a hundred experts here, and just ten miles away, at Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, we’ve invested six billion yuan to build a cutting-edge R&D center staffed with more than a thousand specialists.”
Her voice carried a note of pride as she spoke, and Qin Yuan listened intently, his eyes scanning every detail through the lens of his own expertise. His presence, accompanied by the “second princess” of Gezhi, did not go unnoticed. Employees began whispering among themselves, the news spreading like wildfire.
That man! whispered one. He must be the Iron Lady’s long-lost son!
The realization swept through the building, sparking a wave of intrigue. “The prince is here to inspect the company!” so murmured with awe.
“He’s not just any prince,” others added. “They say he commands an empire of his own. He’ll inherit the true throne one day!”
Among the excited chatter, a group of female employees exchanged ssages. “He’s so handso,” one wrote, “with such a refined temperant. You can tell he’s incredibly well-educated.”
Caifu, oblivious to the commotion, continued the tour. “Brother, how do you feel about the company?” she asked with a bright smile.
“Impressive,” Qin Yuan said, his tone thoughtful. “Mom’s managent speaks for itself. For Gezhi to rank among the world’s top 500 companies, it must have extraordinary strengths.”
As they passed a reception room, Qin Yuan’s gaze lingered on the activity inside. Through the glass, he glimpsed a lively discussion.
“That’s the delegation from Daikin Corporation,” Caifu explained. “They’re here to discuss a strategic partnership. Daikin is one of the top three air conditioning manufacturers in Sakurajima, dominating the comrcial sector globally.”
Her voice dropped slightly. “This cooperation is critical for our group’s North Arican expansion. The deal involves a scale of ten billion yuan, and Mom’s under imnse pressure to secure it.”
Qin Yuan’s brows knitted in concern. “Why is it so challenging?”
“Tanabe Ichiro, the chairman of Daikin, is notoriously difficult,” Caifu said with a sigh. “He’s known for his tough negotiation tactics, and Mom’s position on the board has been shaky lately. She needs this deal to solidify her standing.”
Qin Yuan’s eyes narrowed. Tanabe Ichiro… Where have I heard that na before?
Inside the reception room, the atmosphere was tense. Song Yazhi sat across from Tanabe Ichiro, her poised deanor masking her inner frustration. The chairman of Daikin, an elderly man with a fox-like cunning, reclined comfortably, exuding an air of superiority.
“Ms. Song,” Tanabe said smugly, “you won’t find a partner like Daikin elsewhere. Our technology and sales network are unmatched.”
His arrogance grated on the nerves of Gezhi’s senior executives, who sat silently, their frustration palpable. Tanabe’s demands—exorbitant profit shares and control over core technology—were unreasonable, but he held the upper hand, fully aware of Gezhi’s vulnerabilities.
Song Yazhi bit her lip, her mind racing. This old fox is exploiting our desperation. If only there were a way to turn the tables…
At that mont, the door swung open with an unexpected bang. Qin Yuan and Caifu stepped inside. The room fell silent, the weight of the intrusion hanging in the air.
“Xiao Yuan…” Song Yazhi began, her tone a mix of surprise and concern.
Unfazed, Qin Yuan offered a disarming smile. “Mom, don’t mind . I’ll just sit and listen.”
Though puzzled, Song Yazhi nodded. She turned to Tanabe. “Mr. Tanabe, this is my son.”
At her words, Tanabe’s deanor shifted dramatically. His once-arrogant expression gave way to wide-eyed shock. His lips trembled as he stared at Qin Yuan, recognition dawning with paralyzing clarity.
That face! Tanabe’s mind scread. mories of past encounters surfaced, each one confirming his realization. The color drained from his face as panic set in. His body quivered as though gripped by an invisible force.
Qin Yuan’s gaze t Tanabe’s, cool and indifferent. The brief eye contact sent a chill down the older man’s spine. Unable to withstand the pressure, Tanabe’s knees buckled. With a loud thud, he knelt on the carpet, his voice shaking.
“Ms. Song, please sign the agreent!” he implored, bowing deeply. “We at Daikin are willing to proceed under the original terms. No—we’ll even concede an additional 30% of the profits. Please, let us cooperate!”
The room was stunned into silence. Song Yazhi stared, bewildered, as Tanabe prostrated himself before her, his arrogance completely shattered. Around her, the executives exchanged incredulous glances, struggling to process the sudden turn of events.
Tanabe’s voice cracked as he added, “We’ll handle all core technology and sales networks. Gezhi will retain 80% of the profits. Please, Ms. Song, accept our terms!”
With that, he lowered his head further, his posture akin to a dog begging for rcy. The once-proud chairman was now a humbled man, brought low by the re presence of Qin Yuan.
