"We’re dood!"

Zhou Zhengde’s voice trembled slightly as he pushed Wang Jixuan towards the entrance.

Although Wei Na did not understand what the three words "Battle Girl" represented, she knew Zhou Zhengde well and imdiately sensed the enemy’s strength.

"Quick, call for backup!"

Wei Na shouted, propping up her trench coat.

"It’s okay... She’s not wearing her combat suit," said Wang Jixuan.

Zhou Zhengde and Wei Na were stunned for a mont before turning to look at Lingtong, who had walked about ten ters away.

Indeed, Lingtong had changed into casual clothes at that ti. Her tight black jeans paired with an off-shoulder white short-sleeve top boldly showcased her proudly elegant curves;

Her ponytail swung back and forth as she moved, and her sneakers were sowhat worn but impeccably clean.

She tilted her head to look at the three of them shoving each other and asked softly, "Did I interrupt sothing?"

"No," Wang Jixuan shrugged.

Wei Na imdiately stepped back two paces and frowned, "I believe in sexual liberation, not depravity. I won’t participate in sexual activities involving more than two people."

Lingtong’s gaze shifted away, pretending not to understand.

Zhou Zhengde raised his hand to his forehead. "Who’s asking you that?"

Wang Jixuan looked at the figures looking towards them from both ends of the Capillary Path and called out, "Let’s go inside and talk."

Lingtong moved forward in a composed manner.

Shortly after, in the spacious dormitory.

Wang Jixuan sat upright on the only chair available.

Lingtong stood in front of him, her left palm transford into a scanner, continuously analyzing Wang Jixuan’s bioenergy data.

Zhou Zhengde and Wei Na sat on the edge of the bed, both looking sowhat nervous.

"Are you just going to write a report? You’re not going to test my actual strength?" Wang Jixuan asked proactively.

"I have optional combat missions."

Lingtong kept busy without lifting her head:

"The order was given directly by the Commander, requiring to assess the threat you pose.

"Hacking into Captain Zhou’s communicator was to ensure that he wouldn’t interfere with my assessnt of you.

"Just a mont ago, I was hesitant about whether or not to take action."

Wang Jixuan smiled. "I didn’t feel any desire for combat from you."

"Mm, because it’s an optional combat mission and it’s ant to be a probe," explained Lingtong:

"You’re just a Level E Spirit Ability User with an energy reaction that’s too easy to accidentally kill."

Wang Jixuan: ...

Compared to half a day ago, he had already beco much stronger! If he fully activated his Dan Tian Qi Vortex, his energy figures would have definitely skyrocketed!

However, he certainly wasn’t going to create problems for himself.

Later on, he would have to find a way to avoid detection by these instrunts.

Being treated as a ’Level E’ Spirit Ability User in so ways wasn’t too bad.

Lingtong ticked a few boxes on a report, then signed her na and sent it back to the battle zone command center.

Mission accomplished.

Afterward, she turned off the holographic projection, folding her chanical arms behind her as her ponytail swayed slightly.

"I’m hungry."

"Hmm?" Wang Jixuan was slightly taken aback.

Lingtong blinked and said softly:

"Could you help find so food? Even though my chanical arms and so of my skeletal structure run directly on energy, most of my body has only been enhanced and requires normal nutritional components."

Zhou Zhengde imdiately said, "Go to the security office’s cafeteria! I’ll have them make so food right away! But we only have standard rations; food can’t be made special."

Wei Na muttered under her breath, "Are you sure you want to go eat together?"

"What’s the problem?" Zhou Zhengde was puzzled, "There’s still a lot to talk about, and we might be in big trouble next."

"It’s fine," Wei Na shrugged, "as long as there’s no fight... Those chanical arms are so cool, can I touch them? You have an amazing figure, beautiful. Don’t worry, I’m not into both sexes, just purely appreciating art and beauty."

She approached casually as if she were at ho.

...

A al worth a total of thirty-two food quotas for four people didn’t look anything like ’standard rations’ at all.

Wang Jixuan noted a detail.

Lingtong always took small, delicate bites and chewed slowly when eating, and the action of swallowing slightly furrowed her brows, as if it were sowhat uncomfortable.

"Mu Liang, check this out," Zhou Zhengde handed over the communicator that had been restored to functionality to Wang Jixuan.

On the communicator screen, a pixelated photograph appeared, showing an overturned truck with an empty cargo space and two bodies inside.

Master Wang asked, "That truck?"

"Yes, the one Ye Zi and Kong Nu’s families were in; they hid inside the cargo space," Zhou Zhengde said in a low voice.

"There are no signs of a Blade Beast attack at the scene; they must have encountered a small group of Wanderers."

"Wanderers?" Wang Jixuan encountered a new term.

"Deserters, criminals, and exiles from the Fortress who form bandit groups that often harass the transportation of supplies. We bomb them when we find them."

Zhou Zhengde took a bite of the synthetic at:

"The tire marks of the vehicles that the Spirit Ability Users rode in are fairly clear. They abandoned this truck and ran off. Ye Zi and Kong Nu’s two daughters, along with Kong Nu’s wife, were probably taken by the Wanderers."

Lingtong inquired, "The girl you’re discussing, is she the murderer of the orphans in the cabin?"

"Mm," Wang Jixuan nodded, "The most ironic part of this is actually... the suitcase that Ye Zi was carrying."

"A suitcase?" Zhou Zhengde’s eyes lit up.

"It contains various accounts and lists of Kong Liani’s."

Wang Jixuan said:

"Ye Zi took them that night and contacted Kong Nu using the communicator Kong Liani left behind.

"Ye Zi also explained that these were brought by Kong Liani’s orders, who personally killed more than a dozen children because she had a premonition of her death and wanted her children to accompany her."

"Kong Nu practically treated Ye Zi like a younger sister."

Zhou Zhengde frowned and said, "Which ans, Ye Zi has known about Kong Liani a long ti ago. Otherwise, she couldn’t have obtained those accounts so quickly."

Wei Na snorted, "Like I’ve said before, that landlady is a black hole of human nature. Anyone who gets close to her gets twisted."

"In the past few decades, they’ve directly caused the deaths of at least hundreds of thousands of people."

Wang Jixuan let out a sigh, shaking his head sowhat speechlessly.

Lingtong advised, "I personally suggest that you should first worry about your own situation."

Zhou Zhengde spoke softly, "Mu Liang, your information has been changed. ’Mu Liang’s’ identity is now marked as ’Cremated.’ After dinner, I will arrange a new residence and ID card for you. Later on, you need to hide on the eleventh level for a while. Your new identity will be Wang Zheng."

"I quite like this na."

Wang Jixuan smiled contentedly:

"Any reaction from Spiritual Ability City?"

Zhou Zhengde turned to Lingtong.

The latter continued to eat slowly and thodically, not wishing to speak.

"In places we can’t see, the interactions between the battle zones and Spiritual Ability City are fierce."

Captain Zhou said tersely:

"However, since your own energy reaction is only a Level E, they haven’t taken it seriously. They’ve just used you as a pawn, an excuse."

"The end result is that Spiritual Ability City has issued a global warrant for ’Black Storm Mu Liang,’ but for now, their reach doesn’t extend here. There might be powerful Spiritual Ability Users sent in the future.

"Our solution is to give you a new identity and completely change the data from the Fortress to the battle zone, declaring Mu Liang dead and cremated. From now on, you are Wang Zheng."

"Thank you."

Master Wang was sowhat embarrassed.

Zhou Zhengde has always been very supportive of him, and he has not given much in return.

"I rember you have a hidden injury on your leg, right?" Wang Jixuan suddenly asked.

"Yes, it’s an old problem," Zhou Zhengde said with a smile, "The last ti I used what you gave ... uh, it was very comfortable for half a month."

"Then after dinner, once we’ve handled the identity issue, co to my latest quarters, and I will take care of that problem for you."

Wang Jixuan looked at Wei Na:

"Dr. Wei Na, co along too. I will help you with the adjustnt as well.

"Don’t worry, there will be no direct physical contact; I’ll just need to touch your back through your clothes, as well as areas like your forehead and the soles of your feet."

Zhou Zhengde and Wei Na exchanged puzzled glances.

Wei Na asked with suspicion, "How are you planning to solve this? It’s a hormonal imbalance."

"It’s a special massage technique I’ve devised on my own. Just try it and you’ll know."

Master Wang emphasized:

"This must remain confidential.

"I certainly don’t want to be labeled unscientific and subjected to another round of military investigations."

Lingtong asked without looking up, "Are you making an insinuation?"

"How could I?" Wang Jixuan smiled with narrowing eyes. "I have a high regard for you, powerful one, but I can sense so minor issues with your body."

"What issues?"

"Qi-stagnation, poor circulation, Qi deficiency causing dryness in the spleen."

Wang Jixuan asked:

"Do you feel the thirst and a parched mouth every ti you wake up, sotis so tired yet still unable to sleep? Besides, you occasionally sweat for no reason, your nstrual cycle is often unstable, sotis acne appears on your face, and out of nowhere, your throat hurts.

"Also, the area where your chanical arm connects with your body sotis feels sore and weak, doesn’t it?"

Lingtong’s eating slowed as she raised her head to look at Wang Jixuan.

Wang Jixuan smiled and said warmly, "I can help you with these issues, but in return, you’ll have to answer two questions for after the treatnt, related to Blade Beasts. I’m very eager to fight them one day."

"Oh."

Lingtong responded and continued to eat ticulously.

Wang Jixuan was sowhat uneasy, uncertain of what she ant.

After a long while.

"Are you sexually liberal?" Lingtong suddenly asked.

"No," Wang Jixuan replied without hesitation, "I am actually extrely conservative. But I haven’t given those issues any thought."

"I am too."

Lingtong said softly, continuously eating.

Across from them, Zhou Zhengde and Wei Na exchanged looks.

Wei Na mumbled, "Suddenly I feel like my forehead is shining."

"Sa here," Zhou Zhengde’s bubbly voice followed.

Wang Jixuan sighed inwardly.

His lovely mortal friends were indeed quite dull when it ca to matters three inches below the navel.

Wang Jixuan changed the subject: "What about the landlady’s accounts?"

"No follow-up," Zhou Zhengde sighed, "The Middle Ages Basin Battle Zone and D5 Combined Combat Zone have both chosen to ignore this matter."

Wei Na clicked her tongue, "It’s quite normal for these things to happen. You get used to it."

The three chatted intermittently.

Lingtong listened carefully by the side, not saying much. The slight noise from her chanical arm reminded her that she needed a chanical maintenance soon.

...

anwhile.

Outside the encampnt at No. 76 Fortress, atop a dune in the Sari Desert.

Grains of sand rolled, creating the effect of flowing yellow sand. Behind this movent, a pitch-black silhouette resembling an enlarged caterpillar revealed its terrifying head.

Unlike the low-level Basic Blade Beasts, it had no blade limb structures and seed to have no offensive capabilities. It was just a bit bigger, with a body length exceeding three ters.

Its mouthparts slowly slid backward as a vertical pupil in the center began to slowly reveal itself, gazing at the underground of No. 76 Fortress.

A vague reflection of Lingtong could be seen in the vertical pupil’s center.
