Fu Jian wearily put down the docunt in his hand.

Even after taking the elixir Wang Jixuan sent over, going several days and nights without sleep pushed his brain to its limit.

He had to rest for a few hours now.

If the Terrifying cha Drivers stationed at D2 are insufficient later, he might need to go to the front lines himself; he must be at full capacity.

"Commander," a staff officer inquired beside him, "there’s another online eting. Should we connect? It’s already prepared."

Fu Jian yawned, "What’s it about?"

"A comprehensive dispatch eting initiated by the D2 Commander at the front lines."

"Connect it, delay the subsequent etings for now."

"Yes."

A projection screen popped out from Fu Jian’s chanical arm. He operated it a couple of tis, supplying his brain with a bit of refreshing potion.

In front, the light and shadow shifted, the three-dinsional projection constructed a virtual eting room, and Fu Jian appeared in the main seat alongside two other Commanders from the war zone.

A map filled with dense information unfolded before them.

In the top left corner of the eting room, a blood-red index just leaped upwards from 87% to 88%.

The D2 Commander cursed with a raspy voice:

"These sons of bitches Blade Beasts, for three days their awakening level didn’t increase, thought the Pillar Blade Beast was suppressed by the Sleeping Circuit again.

"Unexpectedly, it’s resud again."

The D4 Commander said, "The effect of the underground blasting was poor; the position of the Pillar Blade Beast’s slumbering, the shallowest distance to the surface is five or six thousand ters. The area near the Sixth Pillar is sward with Blade Beasts, and more are erging from underground, they have been continually breeding over the years."

Fu Jian said, "That Galino ca to negotiate with the Black Storm, demanding we surrender to them, but Black Storm refused."

"Are there any concessions in surrender?

"There are so concessions — it’s that they won’t kill us. But there’s no guarantee, the Blade Beasts want to destroy the Spirit Cultivator Core Circuit, achieving that would liberate the Twelve Pillars."

"These bastards!"

Fu Jian smirked slightly, "Get the eting started, I need to catch so sleep here."

"Grant them access permissions."

The virtual eting room quickly filled up with a dozen logistics generals.

They began a heated discussion about resource mobilization at the front, integrating resources across different war zones, with disputes and argunts being inevitable.

No one wanted to let their side take too much of a loss.

But once the argunts were over, they moved on, at most there’d be so murmuring about soone being petty, but it wouldn’t affect the surface cordiality.

As they went on, they suddenly realized that Fu Jian had his eyes closed and hadn’t moved for a long ti.

"Did General Fu fall asleep?"

"Keep it down, keep it down."

"Take a screenshot for mory."

"Kick Lao Fu out! Sleeping during etings, hasn’t retired at such an old age!"

The D4 Commander joked, while the eting continued, but no one moved to take Fu Jian out of the eting room.

Oddly, as long as he was there, it gave their hearts a bit more confidence.

...

[Ti until the Sixth Pillar awakens: 60 hours].

"I’m leaving for the front lines today to prepare for battle."

In the morning light on the Seventh Floor of Fortress 76, Lingtong gently spoke, straightening Wang Jixuan’s collar.

The Daoist was obviously taken aback, "Which front line?"

"It’s our D5’s front line, not D2’s."

Lingtong said this with a bit of resignation:

"The application I submitted was to support D2; our Seven Star Sword Formation should be quite effective, but it was rejected.

"Don’t worry, I’m Mrs. Storm in their eyes now, they wouldn’t let go anywhere dangerous. I’m going to replace a Second Generation ch, and this officer will head to support D2."

Mrs. Storm?

Wang Jixuan liked this title.

He bowed his head and embraced Lingtong.

Their recent ti together, the exploration of the Way of Human Desires, the advancent of the Dual Cultivation thod, made him feel a new sense of void and reality, intertwined — perhaps this is what ordinary people seek as happiness.

The Daoist asked, "How is everyone’s mood now? Leaning towards depression or positivity?"

"Pretty much positive, I would say," Lingtong closed her eyes, feeling Wang Jixuan’s heartbeat, "Except for a very few Second Generations, no one has really faced the Pillar Blade Beasts. Watching those images, it is just the destruction of the super large cities from the Golden Age, nervousness is inevitable."

Wang Jixuan’s palm felt the smoothness of her long hair, and the elegant curvature of her back.

"Don’t overthink it, the war preparations and alerts are also missions, the Seven Star Sword Formation has already spread across the Half-human cha force; your Half-human cha Team in total has eight mbers."

"I want to join the battle," Lingtong felt slightly frustrated, "wasn’t all our modification and continuous training for this day? It contradicts the education philosophy I received since childhood."

"Don’t make worry."

"Okay, you too, I will follow orders and do a good job on border alerts."

Lingtong looked up at Wang Jixuan. Their eyes t, with her barefooted she slightly stood on her toes, blocking the man’s ensuing instructions with her warm lips.

She didn’t like being nagged.

Wang Jixuan actually wanted to say he just changed his clothes... well alright, before parting, a good Dual Cultivation session isn’t too bad.

Three hours later.

Wang Jixuan stood with his hands behind his back at the elevator entrance of the underground airport on the third floor of the Fortress, watching as Lingtong, donned in military attire, jumped onto the transport aircraft.

She turned back and waved her hand, like a canary leaving its cage.

Wang Jixuan smiled in response, but deep down he let out a slight sigh.

The Daoist had been contemplating the ’emotion’ outside of ’desire’ during his spare cultivation recently; his union with Lingtong was flawless, they were compatible on every level one could think of.
