Cheng Qingchong was so spooked that her fingers trembled, and her eyes quickly darted away. Qin Yinan still stood beside her and didn’t seem like he was going to move.

She didn’t dare to sneak a glance at him anymore because she didn’t know whether he was playing on his phone or looking at her.

The room was quiet, and the atmosphere grew increasingly awkward.

Cheng Qingchong fidgeted in her seat. Just as she was about to crack under pressure, she suddenly rembered sothing and raised her head in a manner that was as calm as she could to look at Qin Yinan. "Er..."

He didn’t react in any way to her words; he kept his eyes focused on his phone.

"...I’ll be going to the hot springs with my mother tomorrow, and we won’t be ho for two days and two nights."

Cheng Qingchong’s words sounded exceptionally loud in the quiet room. The original plan was to visit the Sumr Palace, but when she followed her mother’s orders to send the fruit plate to his study, she overheard him delaying his work for their sake, so she ca up with the sudden change of plans to not interrupt with his work.

"So, you can busy yourself with your work and don’t need to worry about us." She had no idea whether Qin Yinan was listening to her or not, so she stopped talking out of sheer awkwardness. She bit on her lips before continuing. "Mother has booked a ticket back ho next Wednesday. Taking away the two days spent in the hot springs, there’ll only be three days left..."

Qin Yinan’s eyes that looked at the phone screen darkened. The edge of his lips tensed involuntarily, and the conversation between Cheng Qingchong and Mrs. Cheng that he had overheard replayed in his mind.

At the ti, he had thought she was rely brushing up his affection point in front of her mother. He had even mocked her for how fake she was. After all, they were already divorced, and eventually, the cat had to get out of the bag. How happy she made her mother was how disappointed and devastated her mother would be when the truth ca out...

But now, he realized, he was mistaken. She wasn’t purely acting to fool her mother;she was being considerate toward him.

Qin Yinan was indeed busy. To find ti to accompany Mrs. Cheng, he had even sacrificed his resting hours. Therefore, he should be happy that she was so considerate toward him... but for so reason, Qin Yinan found himself getting increasingly annoyed like there was sothing stuck in his chest.

"I’ll figure out a way to explain it to my mother, as long as you help send her off at the airport when she leaves."

As Cheng Qingchong continued to explain herself, the greater the feeling of congestion in Qin Yinan’s heart.

"So, feel free to busy yourself with your work. You don’t need to take care of my mother and myself..."

"You think I want to take care of you two?" Qin Yinan suddenly put away his phone and shot Cheng Qingchong an icy glare. "Don’t forget it was you who ca to beg at my company. I’m rely doing what I’m supposed to!"

Cheng Qingchong stopped talking, and her eyes that looked at him were slightly dazed. She was rely looking out for him, and he still managed to find a way to make it her fault. Is everything I do in his eyes sothing to criticize?

Cheng Qingchong felt tears coming to her eyes, but before they fell, she quickly lowered her head. Just as she was turning her head away from Qin Yinan, the man suddenly reached out to grab her wrist and pulled her forcefully up from the sofa.
