Harrison was fuming. If Itō Itsuki hadn't drawn everyone away, how could Kaitō Kid have gotten so close to the detection devices?
The reconnaissance drone quickly flew over, and Zhang Yang's figure appeared on screen.
That white tux was especially striking under the night sky.
[Wow! The dashing Kaitō Kid!]
[Not gonna lie, this might be the only footage of him during the entire mission—respect to Harrison's crew!]
[Oh my god! It's really him!]
[Kaitō Kid: All luck today—shoutout to the ninja from Japan for the assist!]
[Shit! He still got onto the island. Damn those fools from Japan!]
The recon drone Harrison brought this ti had an extrely quiet rotor, but to Zhang Yang's ears, it still buzzed like a fly.
In the video, Zhang Yang didn't even turn his head or look up.
He just lifted his arm, and a red playing card flew out from between his fingers.
It spun through the air in a graceful arc, heading straight for the drone.
Beep beep beep—
The drone's warning lights flashed, and a second later, the feed cut off completely.
Everyone watching the screen froze.
"Shit!"
Harrison cursed under his breath.
Even though he already knew Zhang Yang had been knocking drones down with playing cards...
Seeing it play out live on screen was still hard to accept.
"Kada, what the hell are you standing there for?"
"You waiting for Kaitō Kid to walk over and turn himself in?"
Harrison unleashed all his fury on Kada.
If Itō Itsuki hadn't drawn them away, the device wouldn't have been destroyed so easily.
[Kada: Bro, show so respect. You're making look real bad right now!]
[Oh my god! Kaitō Kid's card toss is insane—magical playing cards!]
[Like slicing butter with a blade—absolutely unreal!]
[Hahaha! When the card is about to be released, he snaps his wrist, which gives it a curving trajectory!]
[Yoshi! Hahaha! Sir, are you referring to... the sacred art of Card Flick Technique?!]
Kada had planned to monitor Zhang Yang's every move here, but Harrison was clearly pissed off now, and Kada ended up being the first scapegoat.
Plus, Kaitō Kid getting on the island and destroying the detection device—Itō Itsuki had to share so of the bla for that too.
Kada didn't say a word. He left the palace with a dark expression.
After that, Harrison ordered the MI5 agents to return to the palace.
Since Kaitō Kid's exact location was now unknown, they'd let the security guards and Japanese agents do the searching.
"He'll co to the palace eventually."
Harrison was absolutely sure of that.
"Send more drones. Track Kaitō Kid's movents."
anwhile, Zhang Yang was getting closer to the Red Coral Palace, trailed by security and Japanese agents.
Thankfully, the island's thick greenery provided excellent cover.
"Kada?"
Zhang Yang spotted soone ahead. Looked like Kada.
"Harrison's moving with him?"
Zhang Yang had just destroyed the sonic device, and now Kada was here imdiately.
That proved they were sharing intel.
"Kada, looks like tonight's your unlucky night."
Zhang Yang smirked. He sprinted up a tree and waited for Kada to pass below.
Harrison had used all kinds of advanced tech this ti, with location tracking that was scarily precise.
So if you can't beat them—join them.
As Kada walked by, Zhang Yang casually tossed down a smoke bomb.
"Bakayaro!"
The mont he saw the smoke, Kada pulled out his gun in alert.
"Kaitō Kid!"
"You're not getting away this ti!"
The smoke spread quickly. Zhang Yang put on Kaitō Kid's Monocle, and with a single glance, spotted Kada through the haze.
He jumped down from the tree, silently stepping up behind him.
"Looking for ?"
Kada tensed up the mont he heard Zhang Yang's voice behind him. But when he turned around, what greeted him wasn't Zhang Yang—it was a cloud of Sleep Powder Mist hidden in the smoke.
As the wave of drowsiness hit him and his body turned limp, Kada realized he'd been duped.
"Ba... Bakayaro... damn Kaitō Kid..."
He barely finished cursing before collapsing to the ground.
Zhang Yang quickly searched Kada and found the locator beacon, then tossed him into the nearby bushes.
"Hope you've got a strong immune system. Try not to catch a cold when you wake up."
He disguised himself as Kada, swapped into matching clothes, and successfully blended in with Harrison's side.
But Zhang Yang didn't head straight for the palace. Kada had just co from there—if he went back too quickly, it would definitely raise suspicion with Harrison.
Right then, a gust of wind passed through the area. Zhang Yang instantly went on high alert.
Soone was approaching!
"Kada-kun?"
Itō Itsuki appeared through the smoke. When he spotted Kada, he looked genuinely surprised.
He'd seen the smoke and assud Kaitō Kid was inside—so he ca rushing over.
And he wasn't wrong. He had just arrived a bit too late.
"Itō-kun!"
Not only did the disguise perfectly mimic Kada's appearance, even the voice was spot on.
"Kaitō Kid showed up just now, but he got away."
Itō Itsuki snorted coldly.
"Kada-kun, why didn't you shoot?"
"With your skill, there's no way you could capture Kaitō Kid alive!"
Zhang Yang ntally shouted, Wow, damn!
That was straight-up disrespectful—and right to his face too.
"He was too fast. The mont I blinked, he was gone."
As much as Zhang Yang wanted to call him a bakayaro, that definitely wasn't how Kada would respond.
Otherwise, Itō wouldn't have dared say sothing like that to his face.
"Kada-kun, if you spot Kaitō Kid again, shoot imdiately. Try to hit him if you can."
"If you don't, none of us can stop him—including ."
It wasn't just Itō who got caught earlier—his confidence had taken a hit too.
Every ti Zhang Yang managed to escape, it clearly wasn't just luck.
anwhile, Itō kept getting surrounded and had to surrender—that gap was obvious.
After saying his piece, Itō walked off. He still had no intention of working with the others.
"Kada, oh Kada... what am I even supposed to say?"
Zhang Yang shook his head with a quiet chuckle, muttering to himself.
More security and Japanese agents soon arrived, charging headfirst into the lingering smoke.
"Commander Kada?"
When they saw who was standing there, they were all surprised.
Zhang Yang kept his tone neutral and said calmly, "Kaitō Kid got away. Keep searching."
Once the group split off again, Zhang Yang wandered nearby for a bit, then finally began making his way toward the palace.
By now, the MI5 agents had all returned and were on high alert around the Red Coral Palace.
"Kada? What are you doing back?"
Harrison snapped, clearly annoyed.
This ti, going undercover as soone who constantly got yelled at ca with a whole lot of scolding.
"Man... how did Kada end up being treated like this?"
Zhang Yang thought to himself with a sigh.
Then he finally responded to Harrison's question.
"I just saw Kaitō Kid. He's heading this way."
