As the stage filled with smoke, Zhang Yang silently slipped away.
The wire in the air and the smoke on stage had all been prepared by Zhang Yang in advance.
With so many people at Botan Square tonight, eyes were everywhere. If he wanted to act without being noticed, he couldn’t use his old thods anymore.
And the result now made him very satisfied. Not only did it give the crowd sothing to focus on, but it also let him slip quietly backstage.
At that mont, nearly all the staff were still onstage. The backstage area was completely empty.
It didn’t take long before Zhang Yang spotted a black rectangular suitcase with a four-digit combination lock on it.
But that was nothing to him. In under ten seconds, the suitcase popped open.
Inside was a scroll. Zhang Yang picked it up carefully, and after examining it through his monocle, confird it—this was the painting of Wang Zhaojun!
"One of the Four Great Beauties of the Dragon Nation... definitely worthy of the title."
Despite the wear of ti, the figure of Wang Zhaojun on the scroll was still breathtaking. One glance was enough to captivate.
After admiring it for a mont, Zhang Yang closed the scroll and temporarily stored it in his magical wardrobe.
Then he changed out of his white tux into a normal set of casual clothes and walked out of the backstage area with no rush at all.
With so many people in the crowd, as long as he wasn’t wearing Kaitō Kid’s white tux, no one would recognize him.
The smoke onstage lingered for about three to five minutes before it began to clear. Zhang Yang, through his monocle, remotely triggered the fireworks he had prepared earlier.
"The final curtain call. The rest of the show is all Tyron’s."
When the fireworks exploded in the sky, longti fans imdiately knew what that ant.
[Oh my god! Kaitō Kid’s already launching fireworks!]
[Main character vibes. Once Kaitō Kid shows up, there’s no spotlight left for Tyron.]
[There are so many people here tonight—bet most of them ca for Kaitō Kid!]
[Kaitō Kid’s already finished his show, and BND and law enforcent still haven’t done a damn thing. Cold leftovers again!]
[Hahaha, Kaitō Kid is just too damn cool!]
From the mont he appeared, the cheers hadn’t stopped.
Only after the final firework burst did Tyron finally snap out of his daze.
He still had no idea what just happened. The mont the smoke appeared, he’d been frozen in place.
Far off in the crowd, Holska looked toward the stage, his heart mixed with emotion.
In a scene like this, they had no room to operate.
"Shit! Kaitō Kid’s already made the steal!"
"He was too fast. Our agents didn’t even get close to the stage!"
Leo snapped, furious. "Don’t tell there’s no way to catch him?!"
"Don’t forget—we’ve got agents stationed at all the nearby intersections!"
"If we lock down those exits, you’re telling Kaitō Kid’s just going to fly out of here?"
His eyes burned with determination. He didn’t believe for a second that checking every person wouldn’t work. There was no way Zhang Yang could escape.
Even if it took a ton of manpower and ti, Leo had made up his mind—no matter what, he was going to catch Kaitō Kid.
But Holska’s next line was like a bucket of cold water dumped over his head.
"Director Leo... what if he really can fly?"
"Did you forget how he appeared just now?"
Leo had nothing to say.
Holska let out a long, heavy sigh. "If we start locking down every exit and checking everyone, we’ll be called tyrants. And if panic breaks out, we’ll have a riot on our hands."
"But the chances of actually catching Kaitō Kid are slim to none—practically impossible."
Holska stayed calm. He understood the risks and trade-offs clearly.
Zhang Yang blended into the crowd to watch the fun.
By the ti the BND agents reached the stage, everything was already over.
But seeing that Tyron was unhard was already a huge relief for them.
[They just got here now? What’s the point anymore!]
[Hahaha, what’s next? Is Tyron going to keep performing?]
[Now that Kaitō Kid’s show is over, the stage definitely belongs to Tyron again!]
[God, is Director Leo not going to show up?]
[There were supposed to be three leads tonight. One of them didn’t even make it on stage!]
Zhang Yang listened to the crowd’s jokes, then glanced back with interest.
His gaze passed over the sea of heads and landed on Leo and Holska, still standing on the command vehicle’s side step.
They had barely managed to squeeze the car door open and step out. They hadn’t even co down from the step.
There was literally no space for them on the ground.
’Good thing I didn’t let Leo go ho empty-handed. Otherwise, he’d hate even more.’
Zhang Yang smiled to himself.
After waiting for quite a while and confirming that Kaitō Kid wouldn’t reappear, Tyron finally picked up the mic again.
He was in high spirits and full of energy. Even after all that, he still openly thanked Zhang Yang.
"Sorry for the wait, everyone!"
"A big thank-you to Kaitō Kid for his special appearance. His performance was incredible. I was just as thrilled as all of you!"
"Our show will go on. Up next..."
Tyron tried to recapture the crowd’s attention while Zhang Yang quietly began slipping away.
To Zhang Yang, this was still dangerous ground.
Even though he was hidden in the crowd and unlikely to be recognized, who knew what Leo might do next?
It wasn’t a place to linger.
It took Zhang Yang more than an hour to squeeze his way out of the stage area.
Among the crowd, so weren’t even Tyron fans—they had co just for Kaitō Kid.
So once it was clear he wouldn’t reappear, many of them started trickling out.
Once he got into his car, Zhang Yang pulled out a card and wrote two lines on it.
"Director Leo, do you know who the fake Kaitō Kid was?"
"I do. His na is Rubio."
This guy had run wild using his na, and Zhang Yang wasn’t about to let him weasel out of it.
Rubio was already listed on the international most-wanted list.
As long as Leo knew his na, it wouldn’t be hard to uncover all the details.
Zhang Yang released a white dove, sending the card straight to Leo.
"A big win like this should go to Director Leo."
Zhang Yang wasn’t interested in taking credit. He just wanted to confirm Rubio’s guilt imdiately.
At that mont, Leo was still standing on the side step of the command vehicle, staring hopelessly into the crowd.
"Damn it... Holska, do you think Kaitō Kid is still in there sowhere?"
He knew it was pointless now, but a part of him still hoped.
Just as Holska was about to respond, a white dove flew over and landed on Leo’s shoulder.
Holska quickly reached out and pulled the card from its beak. The dove flew away the second it delivered its ssage.
"Director Leo, it’s from Kaitō Kid!"
The two of them leaned in close to read what was written on the card.
