Zhang Yang stared at him blankly. This guy clearly had ulterior motives. Ever since arriving at the factory, Zhang Yang had suspected as much.

There were only two Shang Dynasty twin-ram zun vessels in the entire world.

And all Davis prepared was a few dozen people, a few dozen dogs, and a specially made safe?

He clearly hadn’t planned on catching him—this was just a test.

But judging by Zhang Yang’s performance, Davis was clearly both surprised and satisfied.

"Kaitō Kid, the twin-ram zun is yours. I have a job I want to hire you for. Na your price."

Davis didn’t beat around the bush.

"There’s a secret vault in the Rensa Group. The design is almost identical to this safe—this one’s basically a miniature version."

"Kaitō Kid, there’s a USB drive inside that vault. It’s extrely important to . As long as you can steal it, I’ll give you anything you want."

In the Eagle Nation’s gang hierarchy, if Davis’s California Eighteenth Street gang was ranked first, then Rensa Thirteen would definitely be second.

But compared to Davis’s gang, Rensa Thirteen was way more low-profile. They didn’t strut around flaunting their power.

That USB drive Davis wanted most likely had sothing to do with their rivalry.

Zhang Yang had no interest in ddling in their feud.

And he wasn’t the least bit tempted by whatever Davis was offering.

This whole conversation was being stread live, and people around the world were furiously speculating in the chat.

[What’s Davis saying to Kaitō Kid?]

[Jesus, what is he planning? With security this flimsy, it’s basically like handing the twin-ram zun to Kaitō Kid on a silver platter!]

[Right? Guys like Davis don’t lift a finger unless there’s sothing in it for them. He’s obviously got an agenda!]

[What the hell? Is Davis trying to buy off Kaitō Kid?]

[Oh my god! Are you kidding ? Kaitō Kid, bought off? Davis has to be out of his mind if he thinks that’s going to work.]

Even Bruce and Harrison, watching the feed, looked totally lost. Kaitō Kid had stolen treasures worth tens of billions by now.

No one had any idea how much money he actually had—or even who he really was.

The idea that Davis could just buy him off was laughable.

"Harrison, is Davis seriously trying to buy off Kaitō Kid?"

"What does he want him to do?"

If it had been anyone else whispering to Kaitō Kid, Bruce might’ve ignored it.

But this was Davis—the head of the Eighteenth Street gang. One of the world’s biggest criminal organizations. And the other was the world’s most infamous phantom thief.

Either of them alone was dangerous. If they joined forces, it would be a disaster.

Harrison had the sa bad feeling, but the livestream cara was too far away. All they could see were the two n talking. Even their lips weren’t clearly visible—just their profiles.

After hearing Davis’s pitch, Zhang Yang couldn’t care less.

As for the twin-ram zun, he’d earned that fair and square. No way he was giving it back.

Zhang Yang gave a faint smile, snapped his fingers, and turned to leave with his pack of dogs in tow.

Davis hadn’t expected to be shut down so bluntly. A flash of anger flickered in his eyes—but it vanished just as fast.

He turned around and called out calmly to Zhang Yang’s back, "Kaitō Kid, if you ever change your mind, you can contact anyti!"

"No matter what the condition is—it’s not a problem!"

Zhang Yang didn’t even look back. He strolled out of the factory with his dogs, and Davis’s n automatically stepped aside to let him pass. No one made a move to stop him.

That just made Davis’s ulterior motives all the more obvious.

[What the hell? They just let Kaitō Kid walk away? Was Davis really trying to catch him?]

[Conspiracy. It’s definitely a conspiracy. Davis only wanted to et Kaitō Kid—he never intended to arrest him!]

[Oh my god! What does Davis want Kaitō Kid to do?]

[What was Davis shouting at the end? Anyone here know how to read lips?]

[Bruce and Harrison didn’t even show up. Are they really giving up on catching Kaitō Kid?]

The livestream chat exploded with comnts.

Bruce and Harrison hadn’t shown themselves the entire ti, and Davis had let Kaitō Kid take the twin-ram zun without any resistance. No one knew what his real motive was.

Naturally, the situation triggered all sorts of heated discussions.

[Bruce and Harrison probably wanted to make the arrest too, but would Davis allow that?]

[Davis is the boss of the Eighteenth Street gang. From the beginning, this so-called challenge was never about catching Kaitō Kid!]

[Shit! Who knows what Davis is really up to!]

[If he went to this much trouble just to talk to Kaitō Kid, it must’ve been sothing huge!]

[Bruce and Harrison weren’t going to show up tonight, not with Davis in charge. There’s no way he’d let them appear.]

Zhang Yang reached the gate of the Old Water Plant, got on his dirt bike, spun it around, and sped off through the main entrance.

After he left, the dogs sat down obediently where they were.

Davis’s n and mbers of the dia were still nearby, and the livestream cara panned over to the dogs sitting quietly on the ground.

[Are these dogs going to behave now?]

[Now that Kaitō Kid’s gone, I guess they’ll go back to normal?]

[This is insane. After eting Kaitō Kid, they only listened to him!]

[Do they still pose a threat now?]

[Craziest dog trainer ever. One snap of his fingers and dozens of dogs turned traitor and followed orders!]

Davis’s n exchanged confused glances, then cautiously walked up to put the leashes back on the dogs.

Surprisingly, the sa dogs that had just been snarling and barking at them were now completely calm—just like they’d been before Kaitō Kid showed up.

Even the on-site reporters looked stunned.

"Wow... the dogs are obedient again?"

"Just now they really acted like Kaitō Kid was their master!"

At that mont, Bruce and Harrison were watching the feed and were just as speechless.

These dogs were alive. They had consciousness. Will.

If Kaitō Kid’s tools and tricks could be explained as skills, then the way he made all those dogs obey with a snap—was pure magic.

No matter how hard they tried, they just couldn’t figure out how he did it.

"Shit! Harrison, what’s your take?"

Now, whenever Bruce hit a dead end trying to understand sothing about Kaitō Kid, his first instinct was to ask Harrison.

He trusted that Harrison knew Kaitō Kid better than he did—at least a bit more.

But Harrison had never seen the Beast Mastery skill in action before either, so he was just as clueless.

"I don’t know..."

"Director Bruce, tell your n to be ready."

"If Kaitō Kid appears again, they have to act imdiately!"

Bruce gave a heavy nod and instructed his agents to stay on high alert.

anwhile, Harrison saved the livestream clip.

"And grab this playback too. See if we can figure out what Davis shouted at the end."
