Chapter 943: Chapter 2: Mao Sui Recomnds Himself Chapter 943: Chapter 2: Mao Sui Recomnds Himself In the bar, Bi Fang downed an entire glass of ice water, shivering despite the heat of the Great Sumr.

In Borneo, the rainy season didn’t an much, perfectly normal, just like back on Earth, but the term “Blood Orchid” was too conspicuous.

Python Disaster.

A famous monster movie, a milestone in the genre of snake monsters.

The huge, yet incredibly swift pythons that defied existing evolutionary rules in the movie were all thanks to the Blood Orchids.

Had he crossed into the movie’s plot?

Realizing this, Bi Fang’s thumb continuously drew circles, over and over again.

Python Disaster had poor ratings, but that didn’t stop it from being an excellent piece of work.

Every ti the “protagonist”—the python—appeared on screen, it always sent a chill down one’s spine, utterly horrifying.

This was enough proof of its success. However, due to the successful portrayal of the terrifying image of the python, it ant that deep within the rainforest of Borneo, it was extrely dangerous.

The world’s large snake species were divided into two families—pythons and boas.

Both were rather primitive snake types with similar skeletal structures; the main difference being that pythons are oviparous, while boas are ovoviviparous.

They weren’t all large; many species asured less than 1 ter long.

Regardless of size, however, all types of pythons and boas had excellent strangling and swallowing abilities, capable of preying on relatively larger animals compared to their body size, surviving for months on a single al.

Bashe feasting on elephants at three years old sumd it up well.

In reality, the large snakes weren’t as terrifying as in the movies; pythons were huge but moved slowly, like crocodiles, they were classic opportunistic hunters, not actively chasing prey like tigers, leopards, or wolves, but waiting quietly like a trap for prey to step into.

This slowness wasn’t necessarily a drawback but rather an advantage, one of the reasons pythons could survive for months on a single al.

Speed was one evolutionary direction, like cheetahs, resulting in a higher hunting success rate.

Being slow was also an evolutionary path; low tabolism ant eating one al was like eating ten, reducing the chances of being killed or starving to death.

But in the movie, the pythons were both fast and huge, defying the fundantal logic of Nature, the designer, as understood by Bi Fang—it was all because of the Blood Orchid bug.

Now that he found himself in that world, he inevitably had to face the super python, another bug…

Bi Fang’s thumb stopped circling, pressed against the glass, he took a deep breath and couldn’t help but smile.

Man, this was just too cool.

Wasn’t this Borneo more interesting than the Earth he knew?

On the other side, several people entering the hotel stripped off their raincoats, navigating through the crowd. After getting an answer from the bartender, they began purposefully moving toward Bi Fang’s left, loudly calling out for “Jin Song.”

Bi Fang watched silently; everything proceeded just as he rembered. The group found the Asian first officer, then t Captain Bill Johnson, and learned that “Jin Song” was just a misinterpretation due to the local people’s pronunciation.

After a less-than-friendly exchange, the four people had no choice but to agree to the captain’s quote of twenty-five thousand to rent the boat and fifty thousand to hire the captain to pilot it, before leaving.

At this mont, Bi Fang had just received the fine liquor handed by the bartender, knowing the ti had co, he imdiately stepped forward to greet.

“Hey, Johnson, are you interested in letting join you guys, adding one more guest to the ship?”

Bi Fang put his arm around Johnson’s shoulder, handed the drink to the captain, and then casually sat down next to him.

Captain Johnson was a regular at the tavern and had also joined the “Story Club” before, so there had been interactions between the two, and they were not complete strangers.

However, the na Johnson was too common, which led Bi Fang to not connect it with the python disaster imdiately.

Johnson picked up the wine bottle, examined it carefully, and, satisfied, tucked it under his arm, raising an eyebrow at the four people about to leave the pub, “They’ve already rented my boat, you’ll have to ask them.”

Bi Fang shook his head, “No, what I an is, to add one more crew mber to your boat.”

It seed that the people in the movie, those seeking the Blood Orchid, had no sense of secrecy at all, discussing the flowering period of the orchid openly in front of everyone while looking for a boat.

But that didn’t an Bi Fang could easily blend into their group. After all, they were after a strange plant suspected of possessing abilities like “longevity” and “evolution,” and nobody really wanted to venture upstream. Suddenly having soone who wanted to join them was too suspicious, especially since they were complete strangers to each other.

Rather than painstakingly blending into the flower-seeking group, it made more sense to approach the captain right in front of him, since they at least had so mutual understanding.

Being a crew mber naturally ant staying with the boat, which was more than reasonable.

Johnson, puzzled, asked, “Why?”

“You know, I’m an adventurer, and my purpose in coming to Borneo is to explore,” Bi Fang said with a smile, “Of course, you don’t have to pay a salary, it’s a great deal, isn’t it? You don’t have to spend a di to have a hunting expert, a survival expert, on board, joining you in the perilous upstream journey during the rainy season.”

Johnson fell silent, thinking it over, and it actually made so sense.

Bi Fang’s hunting skills had been evident over the past half month. As for his survival skills, having co and gone through the rainforests of Borneo—even just the peripheries—said a lot. Even if he couldn’t be called an expert, he was certainly competent. Having him as a crew mber was definitely a win, especially since he was free.

“I think it’s a good idea.”

Beside him, the first mate, Ah-Quan, smiled, perhaps feeling a kinship with Bi Fang as both were of Asian descent, and chid in to help, “I asked around, aside from the current four, there are two more people getting on the boat, none of whom have any experience in the rainforest. They are going in to look for so strange flower, and it won’t be easy. With Mr. Fang joining, it will be more convenient for us, overseeing six people with just the three of us will be manageable.”

Anyone knows how tough it is to look after inexperienced rookies entering the rainforest, especially when there are many people, you never know what kind of “talent” is waiting inside.

Considering this, Johnson had a thought.

Bi Fang struck while the iron was hot, “I think Ah-Quan is right, heading upstream during the rainy season is dangerous, isn’t it? These six are clumsy; you’ll be too busy. Just leave it all to , and you just take care of piloting.”

“Alright, I have to admit, you’ve persuaded ,” Johnson, not too stubborn, shook hands with Bi Fang, “Welco aboard, my new crew mber.”

In the movie, Johnson, being the last survivor, naturally appeared as a positive character.

Bi Fang had already proven he wouldn’t be a burden and was a reliable helper. Besides, he was a likeable person, always sharing any excess ga he caught with others, so Johnson didn’t have many objections and agreed right away.

Bi Fang exchanged a glance with Ah-Quan and both of them started laughing.

“Roger that, Captain!”
