Carnivorous animals have smaller incisors, and their canines are strong and sharp, suitable for killing and tearing prey; their molars have sharp edges. The last premolar on the upper jaw and the lower jaw's molar et like scissors, becoming carnassial teeth, suitable for cutting through animal bones, cartilages, and tendons.
Herbivorous animals have duller teeth than carnivores. Their incisors are broad, so lack incisors altogether, but the gum area where their incisors should be is tough, acting as a substitute for incisors. Their molars are broad and their surfaces uneven. These features help in cutting and grinding plant stems and leaves.

But to have six pairs of upper and lower canines, including the first premolars, and completely lack normal incisors—only cals are so unique.
Even cal teeth are sotis processed, with the crown and root junction polished, to create imitation tiger teeth for sale.
Thus, grasses bitten by cals tend to be rather "sparse."

Among dosticated herbivores, cals might be the most ferocious and frightening.
The biting power of a cal's canines is comparable to that of a leopard and has surpassed that of the spotted hyena; they can easily penetrate the human thoracic and abdominal walls, causing damage to internal organs or bones.
Once they bite down hard on a person's neck, with the four large canines sinking into the flesh, and by using the eight cone-shaped incisors to give a few violent shakes, they can tear off the person's head.
