The rich fat dripped down the venison, emitting an extrely enticing aroma.

Everyone who had been hungry all day felt their stomach acids churning, but upon hearing Bi Fang’s plan, without exception, all stopped what they were doing and pricked up their ears.

Where would the next adventure be?

This matter was far more important than eating.

Bi Fang, holding a whole deer leg, tore off a chunk of fatty sinew and chewed it. After a long mont, he swallowed and faced the crowd’s gaze, uttering a single word.

"Arctic."

"I will go to the Arctic."

A gust of night wind blew by, and the fear of coldness etched into their genes made everyone shiver in unison.

The Arctic?

Bi Fang closed his eyes in contemplation, and within the system panel, a new mission glimred with a faint blue light.

[Mission Na: Icy Tundra]

[Mission Location: Greenland]

[Mission Mode: Survival]

[Mission Difficulty: T6]

[Mission Requirents: No equipnt other than system gear may be carried.]

[Main Mission One: Start a live broadcast with a consistent online viewership of over five million.]

[Main Mission Two: Survive one hundred days in good condition.]

[Side Mission: Explore on your own.]

[Guaranteed Reward: Balance Enhancent Coupon*1]

[Ti Limit: One hundred and fifty days.]

A one hundred day survival challenge—before this, Bi Fang had never encountered a mission challenge with such a long duration.

Especially since the location was the Arctic, Greenland.

The two poles, north and south, the coldest points on Earth.

Greenland, located within the Arctic, is one of the coldest places there.

The Arctic is different from Antarctica. Antarctica is a continent, boasting the only Antarctic region in the world without human habitation, while the Arctic’s center is not the sa—it’s not a continent but a sea—the Arctic Ocean.

The island closest to the North Pole is actually not Greenland but the Svalbard Archipelago, aning Cold Coast, which is a Polar Region natural archipelago in the Arctic Ocean, under the sovereignty of Norway.

One of Huaxia’s Arctic research stations, the Yellow River Station, is located here.

Even though the Svalbard Archipelago is closest to the North Pole, the environnt there is not the most extre due to a nearby warm current.

The entire Svalbard Archipelago is under the influence of the North Atlantic warm current, characterized by polar mariti climate. Average sumr temperatures are above zero, and January winter temperatures range between −16°C and −12°C, which clearly shows that the influence of the warm current is more apparent in the winter, being nearly 20°C higher than other regions at the sa latitude!

Judging by the temperature, it’s not as cold as Mohe, which Bi Fang had visited before, and even most of the northeastern region is colder than it.

Therefore, Greenland is theoretically the closest to the North Pole and has an extrely harsh environnt.

As for how harsh it is, the temperature says it all. On December 22, 1991, a record low temperature of −69.6°C was recorded in Denmark’s Greenland, the lowest recorded temperature in the Northern Hemisphere, a record previously held by Polar Bear Country.

Exposed to such temperatures, if one did not take any asures, they would die within a minute.

Steel in the natural environnt becos more brittle than glass.

When Bi Fang conveyed this information with his calm deanor to the crowd...

Elvan shivered, and in a mont of haze, he seed to see the sky filled with flying snow, as well as himself frozen stiff in the snow due to the extrely low temperature.

His soul took a closer look, only to discover icicles still hanging from his snot.

"A hundred days!? The Arctic? Are you insane?"

"Charles, is sothing wrong with my ears?"

"No, nothing is wrong. They are just fine. You heard correctly."

The audience in front of the screen also gasped in shock, that was the Arctic after all.

Surviving there for three months, who could endure that?

Moreover, it was wilderness survival, without any sort of accumulated preparations or resources, once there, one would face the might of nature.

Even if one went in mid-October and stayed for a hundred days, they would return in early January, which ant enduring the whole winter and only finishing after the coldest month had passed. And it was worth noting, the coldest temperatures were recorded in December.

[God Fang is not being human again]

[This is great, even though it’s almost October, I’m already feeling cold]

[The hot sweat that just broke out has been scared back in]

[I hate the cold the most, wuwuwu]

[There’s a kind of cold that feels chilly just by watching]

Bi Fang also found this mission daunting.

In his previous life, there was a wilderness show where soone did indeed survive a hundred days in the Arctic. However, the conditions Bi Fang faced were completely different.

At least those contestants could still encounter trees, shrubs, and even a fair number of land creatures since they were just within the Arctic Circle. Explore new worlds at .Côm

But Bi Fang was at the northernmost tip of Greenland.

There were no trees, no shrubs, just snow, an endless expanse of snowfields. Even Viking pirates would have fled in panic, because after the onset of the Little Ice Age, there were no trees to build ships with, and staying there ant starving to death.

Compared to animals, the majestic wrath of heaven and earth was the most unfathomable and the most challenging aspect of survival.

Throughout Earth’s history, there have been several ice ages, with the most recent one being the Quaternary Ice Age. It lasted at least several million years and is commonly referred to as the Great Ice Age.

Typically, during the Great Ice Age, global temperatures would drop significantly, forming large ice caps and glaciers in higher altitude areas. The ocean would also freeze over extensively, and the climate would turn dry and cold, directly affecting the growth of animals and plants.

At the ti of the Great Ice Age, humans had not yet appeared on Earth, and during the entire human society period, there had been no incidences of a Great Ice Age.

However, so periods have had climate characteristics similar to those of the Great Ice Age, but not as severe. These periods are referred to as Little Ice Ages,

More than three hundred years ago, during the "Little Ice Age" at the end of the Ming Dynasty, the population decreased by half due to the cold.

Of course, this wasn’t because they were all frozen to death, but rather because crops had difficulty growing, which led to a sharp decline in food production and more people actually died of starvation.

But at the end of the day, it was still essentially a result of temperature changes.

The Ming Dynasty was a glorious era, and many ti-travel novels yearn to go back to the past to change everything. But the biggest problem wasn’t Wei Zhongxian or foreign enemies, it was the temperature, it was nature.

Bi Fang stretched out his hand, feeling the searing heat from the fire, and then looked up at the gradually sinking sun.

The fundantal reason Earth can foster life is because of the sun.

Adequate temperatures ensured that water was neither the stubborn glaciers on Europa nor the sulfuric acid rain that falls on Mars, igniting wildfires.

The just-right temperature turned the water into flowing primordial oceans, where countless molecules collided billions of tis, giving birth to the first primitive life form.

The root of all these coincidences is the giant fireball in the sky.

Bi Fang lifted his hand, and the setting sun shone obliquely through his fingers, casting several shadows on his face.

Warm and cozy.
