The developnt of the situation was unexpectedly smooth.

In the middle of the night, Bi Fang received a greeting ssage from Gang Tianwu.

The ssage indicated that under the action of the Japanese Governnt, Bertrand Guy had been arrested, all thanks to the outstanding work of the Eastern Capital’s tropolitan Police Departnt, and it said that everything was now under control, there would be no problems with the show, and that Bi Fang could rest assured and participate in the competition.

The rest was a series of superfluous literary niceties, basically just polite words and so expressions of gratitude.

In any case, the Japanese side was indeed very concerned about Bi Fang’s feelings, for he was a veritable god of wealth.

A single person could double the heat of the show, they were afraid that this matter would affect his mood, so speaking nicely was surely no mistake.

Mugalen glanced at Bi Fang’s text ssage and pointed at the long lines of text with surprise, "Why is your ssage so long?"

"Is it?" Bi Fang looked at Mugalen’s ssage.

The texter seed to be just a staff mber, the content was very simple: Everything is under control, the show will go on as usual.

Was there a different treatnt even when sending a text ssage?

Although Mugalen could not understand Japanese, he knew the difference between long and short!

"Japanese is like that, not as concise as English, but the content is the sa."

"Do you think I’m Milani?"

"Don’t worry about the details," Bi Fang glossed over the contents of the ssage lightly.

Mugalen grumbled unhappily for a while, but still got drawn in by the content of the ssage.

Bertrand had actually been arrested?

Having lived for more than thirty years, Mugalen had seen all sorts of situations, but what was happening now, he had never seen before.

"What exactly is going on? Why do I feel like an outsider, was the incident at Dolphin Bay really our doing?"

"I’d like to know that myself," Bi Fang shrugged, tossing a backpack to Mugalen, "We have to continue working tonight. I’ve checked, and there are far fewer patrollers on the mountain."

Mugalen smirked, "That’s indeed good news."

Normally, the Japanese police can legally detain a suspect for 48 hours, and within these 48 hours, if the police have sufficient evidence, they can start a formal detention.

Detention in Japan lasts 10 days, then can be extended once, for a total of not more than 23 days for one cri—this includes the initial 48-hour detention, one day to inform the court of the detention, and 20 days of the detention itself.

If the conditions for prosecution of a cri are not t within these 23 days, the suspect must be released, but if they are t, prosecution follows, and the person is sent to a detention center.

No matter what, even if Bertrand had many issues, at least for these few days, there was no need to worry about him.

...

The room was very narrow, filled around with materials resembling the dark blue sea, oppressive and terrifying.

The dim yellow headlight shone down from above, casting the light that made Bertrand’s face appear half-lit and half-shadowed, completely obscuring his expression; but judging by his steady breathing, he seed very calm, as if he had long expected this scene.

"Damn it, just as I thought."

Gang Tianwu cursed softly behind the one-way glass, thinking that if it was a common person in here, they’d be panicking by now.

But it’s only these poachers who are bold as brass, utterly fearless, commonly known as old hands.

They might have killed more people than he had dealt with in death cases!

Taking a few deep breaths, Gang Tianwu pushed open the door; inside the room, an officer was bowing his head taking notes, while Okada sat nearby, instructing his subordinate to start the recorder before asking.

"Bertrand Guy, do you have nothing to explain?"

Bertrand Guy smiled, "Explain what? I haven’t done anything, and you arrested , even lied to by saying the program was just paused. I want to ask, exactly which law did I break? If I did make a mistake, then I’m very sorry because it’s my first ti in Japan and I’m not quite familiar with everything here."

"Stop hiding it. We have already found out, Bertrand Guy..." An officer read out the prior findings of Bertrand’s past and then stared into his eyes, confidently accusing, "You are a poacher!"

Unexpectedly, Bertrand didn’t show any anomaly; instead, he nodded calmly, "Yes, you are right. If it is because I failed to report this situation before participating in the contest, then I am very sorry. However, I don’t think this violates the law, does it?"

Then he lifted his head slightly, his tone filled with regret, "That was more than ten years ago. I was not even forty yet, impulsive and blinded by money, and made so wrong decisions. Afterwards, I received the punishnt I deserved and have reford."

"Am I to be tried a second ti in Japan? I don’t think that’s reasonable, officer, is it?"

"Indeed, but speaking of reform, I highly doubt it," Gang Tianwu said with a snort.

Bertrand Guy’s face remained indifferent, as if he didn’t quite understand what Gang Tianwu was talking about, which only made him more composed because they had not grasped the real issue of him hurting soone.

Reform aside, it was indeed Bertrand’s first ti in Japan, and aside from injuring soone, he really hadn’t done anything else.

On this land, he was truly innocent.

Early in the morning, Bertrand had realized there was an issue. Considering his own identity, he likely knew so of it, and when the liaison found him, he didn’t resist at all.

Not resisting was the only way there was no issue.

Gang Tianwu took the initiative, "Does Richard know your true identity?"

"Richard? Who might that be?" Bertrand was taken aback and began to think carefully about his colleagues.

There was no one by that na, was there?

"You’re still pretending!" Gang Tianwu roared with anger, "Tell , how long have you been coveting the dolphin trade?"

"Dolphins?" Bertrand’s brow furrowed. What did this have to do with dolphins?

He was genuinely shocked, his pupils suddenly dilated, and his complexion slightly changed.

I’ve pulled ivory, skinned bears, chopped off lion heads, but I’ve never laid my hands on dolphins before.

How could this person be framing him out of the blue?

His mother’s, is this a case of a corrupt cop?

Bertrand Guy had been wandering around for so long, and these kinds of situations were everywhere in Africa, with corruption and bribery being common. Dragging them out to be shot might wrong so innocents, but skipping every other for execution would surely leave so culprits behind.

But to think that even the police in major cities of developed countries would act like this?

Seeing Bertrand’s sudden change in expression, Gang Tianwu felt as if he had caught evidence.

There certainly was a problem!

Why else would there be such a strong reaction?

His own reasoning surely was correct.

At this mont, Gang Tianwu had full confidence, slamming the table and shouting, "I advise you to admit it early! We already have ample evidence to prove everything you’ve done in Dolphin Bay!"

Bertrand Guy’s gaze gradually beca vacant.

Evidence, what evidence?

And, could soone please tell him where Dolphin Bay is?
