After hanging up the phone, Allen ca up, grinning slyly, "Rachel?"
"Is she the blonde from those two girls you brought over yesterday?"
"They were both stunning, Dan. Spill so tea, did you have fun with the threeso?"
Daniel glared at him, "Get lost."
Allen chuckled and wisely shut his mouth.
They all headed towards the next container to be auctioned.
As they rged with the crowd, the news of the last container being full of brand new smuggled arms spread throughout the scene.
Everyone looked at Daniel with a mix of emotions - shock, envy, and even jealousy.
Robert, who also heard the news, was puzzled.
He didn’t understand how the port could let out such a container for public auction.
Maybe because smuggled arms are hard to deal with, it’s better to just auction them off and make so money.
And who would’ve thought that Daniel would stumble upon such a windfall, talk about luck.
Anyway, what’s done is done.
Robert opened his file, smiling at the treasure hunters.
"Let’s focus on this container. I believe after hearing my introduction, you’ll be thrilled."
With that, he pointed to the container behind him and began his introduction loudly.
"This container cos from the Diamond Kingdom in the Southern Continent."
"I heard the sender is a well-known diamond magnate in the area."
"But for so particular reason, no one wanted to receive this container, so it’s being auctioned off."
"Sa old rules, you guys get to examine first!"
As Robert’s voice fell, all the treasure hunters’ eyes shone with anticipation.
The Diamond Kingdom in the Southern Continent was known to everyone as a diamond-producing region.
Approximately 35% of the world’s diamonds co from this country.
And since the sender of this container is a renowned diamond rchant in the Diamond Kingdom, there’s a high chance it contains diamonds!
If that’s the case, they’re about to strike it rich today!
Seeing many treasure hunters becoming restless, Robert couldn’t help but smile in satisfaction.
The more excited the treasure hunters, the higher the upcoming auction price would go.
The staff stepped forward, cut the lock, and slowly opened the container under the watchful eyes of the treasure hunters.
All eyes instantly shot inside!
However, shortly after, complaints filled the air.
Daniel took a look and couldn’t help but laugh.
No wonder the reactions were so fierce, and he understood why no one wanted to receive this container.
Inside the container were shards of glass everywhere.
Broken glass cabinets and various debris lay scattered around.
Obviously, during transport, for so reason, the container had been jostled severely, causing the debris inside to topple and destroy all the glass cabinets.
Matt leaned in for a closer look and eventually shook his head, muttering under his breath, "Whoever bids on this crap must be out of their mind!"
He turned and walked towards a cooler area.
Resting in the shade seed more appealing than dealing with this ss.
Having experienced the previous auction round, Emilia decided to stick with the Abel and Allen brothers this ti.
She was able to catch every bit of their conversation with Daniel.
As for her pride?
When there’s money to be made, who needs pride?
Emilia looked at the glass shards strewn all over the place, then turned to ask Allen, "Are you two interested in this container?"
Abel, understanding Emilia’s thought process, still offered an analysis, "This container was sent from a diamond rchant in the Diamond Kingdom."
"These glass shards appear to be thick, and judging by the size of the shards and their patterns, it seems like tempered glass, probably from display cabinets for valuable items."
Emilia furrowed her brows, "Tempered glass, and it breaks so easily?"
Abel responded nonchalantly, "Tempered glass is just ordinary glass made tougher and more impact-resistant, but it can still be broken from specific angles or even with a punch."
"Plus, the Diamond Kingdom, being a third-world country with a low industrial level, their tempered glass production is already of poor quality."
Emilia nodded in realization but quickly asked, "So, should we bid on this container?"
Allen looked at her as if she was an idiot, "Do you really think we’d answer that question?"
Hearing this, Emilia didn’t feel embarrassed but just smiled and stood aside without saying a word.
It seed as if she had made up her mind to stick with the two brothers, whether they liked it or not.
Daniel wasn’t bothered by this.
His gaze was fixed on the container, and he muttered under his breath, "Appraise."
The next second, the data appeared.
[Item]: Container
[Age]: Modern
[Details]: Goods from Mika, the diamond tycoon of the Diamond Kingdom in the Southern Continent, all damaged.
[Appraisal]: Junk in fairly good condition!
[Market Price]: 5,000 StellarCoins.
[Buyback Price]: 3,000 StellarCoins.
Worth only 5000?
Daniel looked sowhat perplexed.
He hadn’t seen such a cheap container in a long ti.
Was Robert’s introduction all truthful, or had all the valuable stuff inside been taken away beforehand?
If Robert knew Daniel’s thoughts, he’d vehently claim innocence.
At that mont, Robert had no desire to even glance at the container.
He knew in advance that there wouldn’t be anything of value inside.
Add to that the severe damage, if he could sell this container for 500 StellarCoins, he’d be more than satisfied.
Certainly beats it going unsold.
In any case, this container was a lost cause.
However, because of the container’s origin, many treasure hunters were still itching to bid.
They all wanted to take a chance, to gamble on the existence of diamonds in the broken goods, even if it was just a small handful.
Robert stepped forward, shouting, "Ti’s almost up, let’s start the bidding."
Old-tir treasure hunter Wilson, was the first to bid.
"Such trash is only worth a trash price, 500 StellarCoins!"
It seed like Wilson didn’t care, but his eyes were continuously scanning everyone.
He was clearly afraid soone would outbid him.
But with a bid of only five hundred, avoiding competition seed difficult.
Emilia jumped in, "We’re all in the sa boat here, don’t play big shot. Dream on if you think you can bag a container for just 500."
"I bid 2,000 StellarCoins!"
Robert’s eyes imdiately brightened.
To think soone would bid two thousand on a container filled with junk!
He really underestimated the foolishness of these gamblers.
He imdiately shouted, "Emilia bids two thousand!"
"She’s one of our veteran treasure hunters here, and how many tis has she snagged containers nobody else wanted at low prices?"
"Emilia, spill the beans, did you spot sothing special about this container?"
Emilia kept a poker face, internally cursing.
She just thought the cabinets could be repaired and sold for a decent price, only a fool would bid on this thing otherwise.
Robert’s words, however, fully ignited so of the indecisive new treasure hunters.
Even an experienced old-tir was bidding, doesn’t that an there really are diamonds in the container?
If they don’t bid now, it’ll be too late!
A short, thin female treasure hunter raised her hand and called out, "I bid 2,500 StellarCoins!"
Robert’s eyes sparkled, and he bellowed, "Amy bids 2,500, anyone offering more?"
Another new treasure hunter called out, "3,000!"
"3,500!"
"3,600!"
"4,000!"
Seeing everyone getting excited, Allen also felt a bit itchy, and couldn’t help but ask Abel, "Bro, those cabinets look like they’re worth sothing, should we bid?"
Abel glanced at Daniel, didn’t ask for his opinion, then nodded to his brother, "Make a couple of bids for fun, don’t get carried away."
Allen obediently nodded, turned around, and excitedly shouted, "5,000 StellarCoins!"
Matt, standing afar, watched as the bidding continued to rise, and couldn’t help but grumble internally.
"What a bunch of fools, fighting so fiercely over such junk?"
"But wait, Emilia, Allen, Wilson, these guys are also bidding?"
"They’re experienced old treasure hunters, their judgnt shouldn’t be far off from mine, they shouldn’t be this stupid."
"Could it be, they’ve discovered sothing?"
With this thought, Matt couldn’t sit still anymore.
He got up, pushed through the crowd, and took a good look at the container.
Seeing this, Allen sneered, "Matt, there might be piles of diamonds in there, you’re not scared of taking a gamble, are you?"
Matt, who was already having doubts, inexplicably had a knee-jerk reaction and raised his bid, "8,000!"
The price wasn’t high anyway, plus these damaged goods, he wouldn’t lose much if he did.
Seeing this, Emilia didn’t hesitate and imdiately followed, "8,500!"
Matt doggedly kept up, "15,000 StellarCoin!"
Damn it!
No risk, no reward!
What if there really are diamonds inside?
With this price, everyone around was instantly taken aback.
Daniel looked at Matt like he was a fool.
Didn’t this guy just sit by the side earlier?
Why did he start bidding all of a sudden?
Isn’t this just rushing to throw money at Robert?
