Roel’s senses were plunged into disarray as soon as the light enveloped him.
His physical body remained at the peak of the towering structure, but his soul had traveled through the light to head to the stars and beyond.
Is this Light Devourer’s mories? Roel wondered in astonishnt.
His Crown Origin Attribute began to furiously whir, and the System’s voice echoed in his ears.
“Yes!” Roel resolutely replied.
The debt he was shouldering deepened, but he didn’t mind it at all. As soon as he gave his answer, he felt a familiar sensation within him—it was the formation of a Crown’s Stone.
He had a weird feeling that he was surging across the world at an incredibly fast speed, leaving the stars in his wake. He was getting faster and faster, eventually reaching a point where everything was a blur. The stars he could clearly see earlier beca increasingly stretched out till they ford a single line.
His senses beca so numb that only a single thought remained in his mind.
I have beco the light.
Just like that, he began a journey through outer space. As his speed accelerated without limit, his Crown’s Stone started to take shape. With the formation of his final Crown’s Stone, Roel’s Crown Origin Attribute started undergoing a qualitative evolution.
A blinding light burst forth from the Crown Origin Attribute, and the six Crown’s Stones, looking reminiscent of jewels on a crown, resonated with it. Under this unprecedented mana pulsation, Roel began his breakthrough.
Alicia noticed this happening and frowned. Doubt surfaced in her eyes.
Is Lord Brother going to make a breakthrough here?
A breakthrough to Origin Level 1 was a montous event to a transcendent, which was why she thought Roel would only forge a Crown’s Stone here and finish the breakthrough elsewhere, after he had made thorough preparations.
But things weren't going the way she envisioned.
Roel might not have felt it, but two hours had passed since he stepped into the bundle of light. He probably felt like he was in tiptop condition as he had been absorbing Light Devourer’s energy, but it was too rash to attempt a breakthrough to Origin Level 1 on the spot.
Making consecutive breakthroughs was dangerous, as it could introduce random variables.
However, Alicia didn’t have the spare attention to be concerned about that now, as what truly worried her was the other magic items in the vicinity.
The six ancient magic items that ford the foundation of the Six Calamities were currently releasing unusual mana pulsations that were beginning to resonate with one another. This was very abnormal.
Alicia’s previous plan was to drag Roel away right after he ford his last Crown’s Stone, but that wasn’t an option anymore.
Should I interrupt Lord Brother’s breakthrough? No, that won’t do.
She dared not to disrupt Roel’s breakthrough, but at the sa ti, she couldn’t bear to leave things as they were. She wouldn’t be able to live with it if sothing happened to him under her watch.
While she was hesitating, there was a change in the situation.
Boom!
The instant the mana pulsations from the six magic items all resonated together, there was a gigantic explosion accompanied by an intense burst of light.
A surge of frost aura and a whiff of pale yellow wind rushed into the sky. A dark cloud of death and a stream of lava mixed with suffocating ashes roared. A white fog and an aurora suffused the surroundings.
It was such an imnse mana pulsation that the entire structure began to shake.
“Lord Brother!” Alicia shouted out to Roel in shock, but it was to no avail.
As the mana pulsations of the Six Calamities resonated as one, Roel was transported into a holy white space.
Alard, he quickly scanned his surroundings and found that he was floating in mid-air. Beneath him, a black-haired, golden-eyed woman floated above a divine altar that appeared to be made of ivory.
As if struck by lightning, his eyes widened at the sight of the woman. It was a familiar figure, not just to him but to most people in the world.
Her na? Genesis Goddess Sia.
…
Roel had wondered what would happen if he collected all six of the Crown’s Stones, but there was no conclusion to his musing. No one in history had ever achieved that feat before, after all.
In the first place, the Six Calamities appeared randomly. It was unlikely for all six of them to appear in the sa generation.
Besides, even if a person was lucky enough to survive their first encounter with a Calamity, the chances were that they would die in the second encounter. It was almost impossible for anyone to be alive after eting all of the Six Calamities.
Of course, there were also instances of people subduing the Six Calamities, but they didn’t necessarily have the power to absorb them as a Crown’s Stone.
No one from the Kingmaker Clan had ever collected all of the Crown’s Stones, but Roel accomplished it and triggered this supposedly impossible eting.
Faced with the Genesis Goddess, Roel’s overwheld mind stalled to a halt. He instinctively descended to the ground and approached Her like a moth drawn to a fla.
Sia was dead.
Roel knew that.
What was before him was just a remnant of Her existence.
Even so, he still wanted to get close to Her. She was the Mother of All Lives, but above that, She was also his benefactor for bestowing on him the ‘Being Toward Death’ blessing, which saved him from death many tis before.
He made his way toward Sia with an excited heart, expecting to be welcod by Her warm smile. Yet, he was faced with Her look of astonishnt and reluctance instead.
Sia’s golden eyes quivered as She seed to take a step back.
Roel belatedly realized that his actions might have been abrupt. The woman before him clearly didn’t recognize him, so he quickly halted his footsteps, bowed to Her, and introduced himself. “Revered Lord Sia, I am Roel Ascart, the Kingmaker of the current generation…”
“Sia?” The woman was montarily stunned, but She quickly widened Her eyes in realization.
“What’s wrong, Lord Sia?” Roel asked in confusion.
“…No, it’s nothing.”
The woman shook Her head as She looked at Roel with eyes filled with conflicting emotions.
Silence lingered for several seconds between them before Roel snapped out of his daze and tried to explain, “Lord Sia, I apologize for my earlier brashness. I didn’t an to…”
However, the woman stopped him with a shake of Her head before reaching out to touch his cheek. Her touch startled Roel.
“Roel…” She called out.
“Yes, Lord Sia,” Roel replied.
The woman’s eyes flickered in uncertainty, as if She was contemplating sothing. A long ti later, She hoarsely asked, “…Tell : are you my child?”
